when i try and start this game it comes up 'checking disc' and then it says 'emulation device detected' and i can't start it? Has this happened to anyone else and how cna i get the game working?

It happends only to a copy of the disc only a real one works

Length of stages depends if its mountain or flat stages. It is not based on real time. The stages takes around 20-30 min if they are long. And you can also use 8x to ''fast forward'' the game abit. which makes stages go way faster.
