Does an actor have to look incredibly HOT/good looking to get jobs???

im sayin this because my family persuades me to get fit and really good looking to get into acting

@Iwillmurderyoubitch I have no right to talk-I'm not an actress- but yes and no. It certainly will get you an audition, but a lot of roles don't require looks. In fact, many require looks that aren't preferable. Comedians seem to be less defined in looks. Romance or Drama? Most likely, judging from what i know. Theres thousands of roles though-some are bound to be for someone "unusual". hope that helped(:

You can do it, just have the passion, and go out there, get your parents to give you a chance, act every chance you get, not just in plays or things but everyday, with your brother or sister, live breath eat sleep, everything cycles back to it, watch people they are your biggest and best resource!! good luck you can do it!!
