  • That is Brill!!

  • superbe avec la djellaba !

  • georgie so cool

  • The blond on the far left with the short blond hair is actually my mum...yay mum.

  • big respect

  • This clip is so ass-oriented, it even gives you rear projection.

  • Johnny Rivers did a far better version...yikes.

  • Ever wonder who influenced Jamiroquai ...

  • I've seen some daft outfits, never liked his voice

  • now thats the 60s in 1

  • Dude's got a great voice!

  • Give that Flick Colby one

  • What a guy. Takes a song, puts it in 7/4 and makes it his own....Like Willie Dixon's and Long John Baldry's version, but this is streets ahead. Not sure about the hoodie, but Pan's People make it watchable.

  • This is my kind of pajama party!

  • You think there be some chemical enhancement happening here?

  • Georgie fame must be climbing up nearer the top of 'the longest ever music careers' list. He was playing pro in the early sixties and shows no sign of stopping...

Not sure what on earth he's doing here, though. Those Top Of The Pops producers had some bloody stupid ideas!

  • Thanks for the update autosloper...really good music. reminds me a little of Tony Joe White...Polk salad anny

  • Groovy.

  • 1:04pm Friday (CST) - Time in Mississippi, United States of America

  • This looks like a N. African (Moroccan?) kaftan - the hood is needed because you've got to cover up for sand storms and protection from the heat and cold dessert nights. Also, he's obviously a big fan of Mose Allison. (Parchman Farm recorded later) This (originally blues) tune is about superstitions of 7th son having supernatural powers - ergo the kaftan; perhaps a false allusion to things mysterious and paranormal. Either way this cat was BAD! I don't hold him responsible for the go-go girls.

  • who exactly were the other six sons?

  • Another GREAT post, thanks

  • Why exactly is he wearing his nightgown? bizarre.

  • It's probably just a silly gimmick. In 1969, there was a novelty hit called "Sweet Lady In the Moon" which was sung -- or rather, mimed -- by two guys wearing old-fashioned baseball uniforms. The song had nothing to do with baseball.

And remember Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs, with their mock-Egyptian getups? Like the song says, ya gotta have a gimmick.

  • Are those dancers hot, or what? We're talking prime wanking material here.

  • @scotpens lol, great comment

  • @scotpens : you think they look hot here ? take a look at TOTP 1970- Pans People Green River ......smoking !

  • @perciful1 Yes, I’ve seen the clip of Pan’s People dancing to “Green River.” Watched it MANY times! Sexy stuff, even if a couple of the girls occasionally missed a move or two.

Have you seen any of the YouTube vids of the Gazzarri Dancers on “Hollywood a Go Go?” They were some fine-looking babes too.

  • WTF was Georgie wearing? A Victorian nightshirt with prison stripes and a hood?

  • What an extraordinary video.

  • Before my time, but WOW! Those women are PERECT. The whole thing is just SO damned cool. And it's a real recording... live.. with a cord attached to the mic. Talent.

  • Blimey! A hoodie in the sixties!

  • Never mind Georgie,s costume!,check the chicks out..This is 1969!..YEAH BABY!....You should have been there!.

  • You know what they say about the Sixties: If you remember that time, you weren't there!

  • This was a Georgie Fame solo single from late 1969.

  • Dear god what's with Georgie's get up?!

  • Maybe he just stopped by TOTP on his way to a Phish concert? Where is his hackey sack, maan?

  • Great version! But what were tghe BBC costume people thinking?!

  • Well that's the 60's for you! Mind you, with Pan's People around, who cares???!!!!

  • Bloody BRILL!!!!!!

  • I say yeah, yeah...Georgie...wh@'s this!! The original hoodie!? Priceless..yup, no sign of Alan on set here ; D

  • @ELGROOVER,.."The Original Hoodie"!..Love that!!!

  • to SuperXavier30 ~ He still gigs occasionally, I saw him play last year. He was very chatty between songs, recounting stories of the sixties, very entertaining. He was wearing shoes ☺ ;-j
