  • When did Mr Fantastic get so buff? I always thought him as one of the more slender superheroes.

  • yeah i would take the infinity gauntlet to be above teleport machine.

yeah i held out on this issue but i put the next one on hold to see if it Bangs or fizzles.

  • Elliot i agree with your view on Fantastic four. retro is always cool but that book should really be cutting edge.

The Kirby 70s throw back will get very OLD a lot quicker than the Miller run which i thought was darn good. (but shoud have been great)

  • Hey guys

i know you are covering ALOT of topics on your blog --but i come to this site to hear/view up to the minute discussions and reviews.

So where is that MARVEL DISNEY video?

The comic club guys ( who i cant stand) posted one the next day !

Save the good stuff for your videos. Some people dont have time to read blogs and would rather have your videos play while they work ect.

    Just my 2 cents

  • Jose has been sick, so we were not able to record any new segments this week, something that everyone who READS THE BLOG ALREADY KNOWS! LOL.

    Seriously, though, we'll be back.

    Promise.

    Elliott

  • Hickman's "Dark Reign FF" story got really out there by issue 4. It drifted into Morrison territory for a minute lol. Cowboy FF, flying pirate ships, Venom-Skrulls, Susan Richards with scurvy. What the Hell is going on?! But it was good.

I can see what you are saying, Elliott, about the art being slighty Kirby-esq. I can see it, but Englesham's art is excellent. It looks better than his JSA work.

  • Issue 570 arrived in the post this week and was a huge breath of fresh air in comparison to millar's boring pomposity.

I didn't get much Kirby vibe from the art though, I felt it was much more like John Buscema's art or perhaps Paul Ryan from his late 80's run.

His Reed was strange though, much more like the art of british 60s/70s artists like Gerry Embleton or Ron Turner, not an unappealing prospect at all.

  • FF #570 was the first single issue FF story i picked up as well as the first Hickman story I've read and I loved it. I also found the illustration of Reed Richards to be a little off.

And if you ever do a word of the week on the CCW blog, I suggest "pretentious" be the first.

  • Done and done. Plz visit the CCW Blog and comment on our Word of the Week!

Oh, and please feel free to suggest even more.

    Elliott

  • Hickman does a really great job on FF, and I'm glad that he's on this title. Solid read for sure.

BTW Ash Saves Obama REALLY good Elliott :)

  • Hickman also shows Franklin as a compassionate person, just like mommy, when he tell reed " but your going to help him... you have to try. Right?"

    Fantastic character development. pun intended

  • Yey, finally more love for the FF. I can't say I was as down on the Millar run as you guys were but even during that one of the local comic stores was still only buying FF to order. Got to say, reading the forward release notes on this series, and Franklin getting his reality altering powers back, I'm well chuffed. FF fan here in case you couldn't guess, yey.

  • where did you guys get your camera .

because if you get nother one you can have one on you and one the comic your talking about like a on and off thing cus you show the comic for like 5 seconds im gust saying to spice thing up ..

  • Do you WANT my head to EXPLODE?

    :)

Editing with just one camera is enough work.

    Elliott

  • lol alright gus saying its all good it cool the way it is lol

  • FF = my favorite non Madrox heroes out there. They would OWN Dark Avengers/X-Men anyday.

  • btw does anyone know how dark wolverine meshes up with dark reign ff ?

    thanks

yeah its a waste of time to read your own reviews you just need someone you respect and is honest to give you some constructive criticism.

nice job havent read FF in ages this review gave me a nice feel for what going on with this book

i agree must be hard for folks to write super geniuses

  • Slott was on CCW posting a few days ago

and fellas the word is spreading about E & J, my LCS guys talk about you two.

  • Uh oh,,,is that a good thing?

    J.

  • Hell yeah it's a good thing, it means people are finding this show. It means folks are listening, hell it might be a means for E to get more work and for you to get your hands on Jeph Loeb and smack'em :-)

  • this issue was my top pick that week

  • the only problem i had was the ripped reed richards

  • You got my monies

  • Wow guys, I have never ever been interested on the Fantastic Four.. not even when the movies came out...

But after hearing this review, I´ll have to pick it Hickman's run
