  • I'm sorry but this shit they are putting out now is nothing but glorified pop music. real country music ended the day George Strait and Alan Jackson sold out!

  • I can remember mom frying up some kick ass chicken and singing this song when I was a young lad back in the late 60's .........Great memories Dwight, thanks.

  • I love it

  • I've been singing this song so long that when I started singing it I sang hulla palla lunga. Yep could barely talk but loved this song. Now one of my all time fav artist doing it!!

  • now thats old school.

  • Love this guy....he does his own awesome and he does the old ones with respect too ...i grew up with this song.....Ernest Tubbs did it right ...

  • Love this guy....he does his own awesome and he does the old ones with respect too ...i grew up with this song.....

  • Those jeans wouldn't come back for at least another 20 years! haha Dwight Yoakam: Trend setter

  • Legend... you can tell even at a young age.

  • @CatboxDesign Yes, there is just something about talented people. I make recordings and work with it, and sometime its hard for my eyes to not well-up. When i was younger, I always wondered about what made recordings. He could play a 2 dollar guitar and still make a number 1 hit. These people just ARE, and the just BE.

  • It's hard to believe that such a talent has made it and retired. All Dwight fans need to get him making more music!!

  • @kscot1950t ~ Dwight is NOT retired! Not only has he been touring all these years (including now), but he has re-signed with Warner & will begin a WORLD tour next year! :)

  • @themom2717 A world tour sounds great....I am sooo ready to see Dwight again!

  • @kscot1950t ~ Ck out his FB page or his fan page, route23.com, for more details. :)

  • It's Raoul!!!

  • Very interesting! You can see that evrything is in place ,that band is working real hard the only thing missing is the opportunity to make a deal with a music company that will make lots of money with them probly... let's hope the deal was not a long term contract...

  • One could swear thats old hank sr standing there, it's uncanny. Dwight is my hero, idol and number one influence if it werent for him I wouldn't have kept at practicing singing. I can't wait to see him here in Arizona in may it will be an opertunity of a life time for me.

  • Of late, I've been falling in love with his music all over again. I was George Strait & Garth Brooks fan. What was wrong withme???

  • @Rebecca649 Nothing wrong with the George Strait part, but I don't know anybody ever liked that phony

    Garth (Chris Gaines) Brooks.

  • @VA24541 Not a big fan of the preppy George Strait. I like my country stars with more edge like Waylon, Marty and Johnny.

  • How many of us have cried listing to this song?

  • Wonderful cut.........a prize find.

The sound man went to sleep........and what do we have?

    Just Dwight's priceless voice.

    Wonderful thingy.

  • The best thing I found in YouTube!

  • Fallout New Vegas have it sound =] like it sone

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG i didn't ever realize he was so young at one time >.<

  • is this from 92/3 and where was this ?

  • i wonder if he is bald then or if it happened later

  • There are the legs wagging side to side...his trademark. : )

  • i love dwight i love to listen to his music while i am cleaning house just like my mama use to do i love some good ole honky tonk music !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn he looks thin here.

  • To me his voice is bad. Just speaking my opinion. Don't flame me.

  • @123456789jamesj12345 mebbe, but it's part of the style that you learn to love.

  • His voice is amazing (as always) but you especially hear it here. Thanks!

  • Guy Mitchell's version was much better!

  • @cf1934 Mitch Miller's boy? The guy that covered the great Marty Robbins, keeping Marty from the top of the charts with his own songs? Hmmm.

  • GOSH , HE LOOKED SOOOOO YOUNG!!

  • Comment removed

  • This is great...I wish the sound was better though.

  • What a talent man, never heard this song done better...

    Big

  • Raw and great this is what music is all about.

  • Gotta Luv that tear Jerking Voice in an ol' texas shuffle!!!! xxxx

  • Stfu speedy

  • Great song from Dwight. Stfu Bobo, you wouldn't know good music if it came from a clowns ass.

  • Is there any one with more "country-cool" than Dwight? No, IMHO. And, is that an old echo-plex, or some tape-based echo unit sitting on top of that guitar amp? Cute!

  • "Pete is the best guitar player Dwight ever had!"

  • Pete is the best. guitar player he ever had.

  • There's Pete on lead guitar....Dwights BEST guitar player he ever had....

  • That was GREAT ! VERY EARLY DWIGHT, before he made it big.....Notice, Pete on Lead guitar, THE BEST GUITAR PLAYER Dwight ever had !!!!!

  • Lovely song

  • Pete is the best guitar player Dwight ever had...miss you Pete.

  • pete sucks

  • @loslonelyboybill ----- eat me....you know nothing about guitar players or why Dwight picked him for his VERY FIRST guitar player. He gave Dwight the sound he has today. so....EAT ME.

  • @loslonelyboybill ...so does your mother but you dont hear me complaining. Birdbrain...

  • Pete is the best guitar player dwight ever had.

  • Pete love ya Bro Two Deluxe Reverb's

  • PETE is the BEST guitar player Dwight ever had !!!! Miss you Pete..

  • Your the best guitar player Dwight ever had..way to go Pete. Miss ya..

  • anybody know what year this was?

pete anderson the guitar player must have been buzzed when he almost fell off the stage right at the first chorus

  • looks like late 80's

  • Nice try, but I'll stick with the Ray Price version.

  • Yep, Debdo24x7.... Great idea........LQQKS Like We Have Sumpin In Common......I Hate The Musoc Scene Out Here In Washington State, I Moved Out Here In In feb Of 08 Got Married, Transferred My Job, But My Thing Is My Music,,, I Miss Cleveland, Even Tho Its The Rock & Roll Capital, Theres Some Great REAL Country Bars To Play Music In. And To HONKY TONK........

  • The only bars playin' country in Seattle are either the Tractor Tavern in Ballard or Jules Maes Saloon in Georgetown. As someone who has worked in a lot of music venues as security in Seattle I heartily agree with you. The music scene sucks here in Seattle!

  • He Has The GRACE & LOOK Of Hank SR. And The Sounds Of BUCK OWENS, Why Did He Have To Change As He Is Now ?............You Dont Break What Works !!!......

  • What Happened To OUR Music ??..... Todays Country Stations Need To play These.......

  • Thats why if you get in my truck you hear old rock and roll, can't find any good country. Got stations for 50/60s---70s/80s and the newer sstuff on Rock nothing but a lot of talk amd supposedly country that sound like rap and can't be danced to. We need to take our kids out tonking and dancing instead of shopping for high dollar status symbol clothes We sisn't stab and shoot each other at the dance halls in the 60's 70's

  • KEXP 90.3FM has two decent country shows,Swingin' Doors on Thursdays from6-9:00PM and my fave with Leon Burman as the DJ on Fridays Shake the Shack from 6-9:00PM. otherwise the so-called "Country " stations here play that crap that sounds like the bad pop crap from the '70s.

  • agreed!!!!

  • When was this?

  • great work!!! Beautiful Dwight!

  • Best god damn song ever was. 0:33 ooops try that one moe time 0:21

1:29 what? 2:31 ohh anything will do....

  • omg I just fell in love once again!

  • I like this lead guitarist as well as Dwight's current one. There styles are very different.

  • Looks like Pete Anderson who produced Dwight for years and was a major influence behind Dwight's sound. One of the best.

  • Great! when is this from? Dwight seems so young and by the sound of the audience it seems like a fairly small venue.

  • I believe this is from late '85 or early '86, just before "Guitars, Cadillacs, etc." was released.

  • There you go, Johnny Lee!!!

I dedicate this to you, with all my love--Forever & A Day!!!

  • He was great then--he is great now!!!

Boy, he can really sing them old songs!!!

    Thanks!!!

  • Yeah, but can y'all dance the Texas shuffle? He's giving it to ya. Nobody but Texans understand this stuff.

  • he is so good love you dwight.

  • The deal with Dwight is he can sing from the heart. His personality shows thru. Hes a great entertainer and singer. I adore him~!

  • I love this song.. and dwight of course...

  • this is just awesome ...lol..I never seen Dwight this young before !!! I always loved how he interacts with the crowd, he's the man, thats for sure

  • He's about 29 here, just a kid about to hit it big. This is before his first LP.

  • WOW....he was soooo young here !!!!

  • he sounds a little drunk on this one!
