Why not? I like understanding the difference between genres of music. Especially when it comes to trance which has a wide range of styles and sounds. I like knowing and being able to tell people which specific styles of trance I like and this also makes it easier for me to find new music.

I do sit back and enjoy the music but that doesn't mean I can't also learn more about it.

I generally don't argue over the usage of the term Hardcore, but if folks are gonna be all "nah, this is real hardcore" like they pwn face and are the genre god I feel the need to point out that hardcore was originally punk. The first published use of the term was in relation to punk before the genre name was applied even.
