  • How do i permanently ENABLE chkdsk?...google only shows results on how to disable it...please help...How to run chkdsk every time windows 7 starts?

  • ty br0, think u just repaired my computer

  • very helpful. thanks

  • yeissssssssssssssskbggfv

  • thank you this is the best video on youtube that ACTUALLY HELPS!!!!!!!

i subscribed so thanks please don't stop this good work

    LOL

  • very nice however I need elevated rights on Win 7, how do I do that ?

  • how to know that chkdsk fixed my problems or NOT after performing it? !!!

  • This thing saved my Local Disk-indicated External Hard Drive.

After about 5 hours of recovering approx. 168GB, I got everything back!

I was so worried all week long... but hey! It was worth it!

    :D:D

  • mine does a diskchep randmoly at startup even though i ran nothing

  • @ifeelikepwningnoobs A chkdsk can only run on the C drive at boot. If your computer has a dirty drive, it will often run by itself. You need to run it with the "/r" switch to try to repair it. Whatever it is, something is seriously wrong with your machine if it is running quite frequently. You might consider checking out Defraggler as well.

  • esta bueno Gracias amigo saludos

  • WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY RECOVER LOST FILES?! like DELETED files?!

  • @canoncola It'll try to fix the corrupted files, but even that is hoping for a lot. Deleted files are usually gone.

  • @technoblogical Oh alright, just wanted to make sure. For anyone curious, deleted files can be recovered by certain programs out there. Off the top of my head, recuva and data+ are a couple I used. RESULTS ARE NEVER GUARANTEED since the fragmenting of files in the "RECYCLER" (deleted trash)... are randomly over-written. Thumbs up if this all sounds accurate

  • @canocola deleted files can be recovered by other programs

  • thanx very much, this was very helpful

  • I got problem. When it starts up with Check Disk, it hanged at ''CHKDSK is verifying Usn Journal''. I think it's hard disk failure so anyway to recover it?

  • i got some problems with my laptop....it runs the Startup Recovery but it when it's finished and restarted , it will runs the Startup Recovery again and again....is there any way to fix this ?

  • @mizwar96 You can boot to your Windows DVD and try startup recovery there.

  • @mizwar96 that haapprns to my old laptop before :(

  • That was great!!! Thanks for the clears and useful info... More than the average uploader, thanks again.

  • thank'you :))))

  • So, i got another problem.I can't even enter Safe Mode because the Windows Restarts.I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate SP .Any solution for me?

  • @xXtremeXpertZz Put in a Windows 7 Install disk. There is a "repair your computer" option on the first screen. There is even a command prompt there where you can run the command. You can also do a system restore from there. But It's easier to let Windows try to repair itself first.

  • @technoblogical Well, i tried it with a Windows XP Install disk, i couldn't even enter the setup because of this problem.Windows XP also had a repair option so i tought it would work, but it didn't!Will Windows 7 work?

  • @xXtremeXpertZz Why would you try an XP disk on a Windows 7 computer? Would you remove a wing from a Boeing and try it on an Airbus?

  • @technoblogical I have the Stop 0x7b message and my laptop wont boot anymore AT ALL. It's currently on Windows 7 Home Premium but I have a Windows Vista Install CD (7 was installed when I bought it) I tried running chkdsk but on stage 4 of 5 it froze at 14% for OVER 8 Hours and I just cut it off. That was like two weeks ago. Can I just install Vista fresh or is the problem a lot deeper. Safe Mode also doesn't work or Last Configuration or even System Restore all leads to Stop 0x7b...

  • how do I reinstall windows 7 with out the disk

  • @danielbyrne1 u cant do that, u need the boot disk, or maybe u have to download the windows 7 .iso (image) and make it to USB boot!!! :P

    Windows 7 Boot loader usb

  • need help i cant find CMD i clickt on start end typt cmd but cant find it help me please ;(

  • @armenboy121 Then look in all programs > accessories. It should be there. Remember to right click and run it as administrator if you are on Vista or 7.

  • I tried running chkdsk but its write protected what do i do

  • @MrJosezub If this is Vista or 7, did you right click the command prompt and run as administrator? Are you an admin? Can you try to run chkdsk /R in safe mode? (F8@boot) You could try the chkntfs command instead. I assume you are not trying to run it on the wrong drive like your CD. A CD would be write protected. You could also try booting to a Vista/7 repair/install disc, trying to repair your computer from its command line. Just pick the right 1.That's a hard one. I can only offer questions.

  • Can I do recovery on xp disk rather than 7?

  • is this safe and how long will it take for 280gb?

please answer anyone i need guidance :(

  • @useurcamera Safe and will take all night probably

  • ummm, i get this error message one my other computer, and it wont let me start the computer, ever when i go into safe mode, it takes mean to the same screen

  • What operating system?

  • windows ex

the error message is the 7e

  • What about 0x00000024 error?

I need help on that before i clean install..

  • That would be a good idea to try before a clean install. Is your machine XP? You'll need to go into the recovery console to do it. If this is Vista, you can do it through start up repair.

  • Also a great website for stop codes is.

    aumha [.] org/a/stop.htm

    remove the [ ]

  • Ok thanks, I realy appreciate your help!

  • This is xp on a very old computer, I haven't got any recovery disks or the xp disk, I've tried getting into the recovery console but the screen switches so quickly I can't find the right key!

  • Find some one with a XP CD. You can't get into recovery console without it. And that will be your only fix. (Other than just re-installing Windows.)

  • How do I run the chkdsk /F command on BIOS or something without loading the OS (my computer just stops the windows loading screen and has the *** STOP 0x0000007B thing every time I turn it on) I can't get to the login screen :,(

  • Is this XP or Vista?

  • I have a problem, when it runs at startup it says master file table is corrupt and it cant find one?!

    Please help!

  • This is a serious situation. Are you able to get into windows? If so, start backing things up and then reinstall a clean version of Windows. You might spend days trying to repair it or hours starting over.

If Windows isn't starting, then either get a live Linux disk or install the hard drive in another computer and start copying your stuff down on third hard drive.

  • Right now im not able to get in. Its been like this for a few weeks was quite bad but i thought i had it fixed. For a while i could get in. Theres over 200 gbs of files i need on it. If i click safe mode, or repair it freezes for hours. This is a laptop and im not sure if i can put the hard drive in the pc?

  • Well, you can buy an adapter for it. It'll allow a 2.5 hard drive to connect to a 3.5 inch ribbon cable. You can also buy a hard drive enclosure for a 2.5 drive.

Or you could try a live Linux disc and copy data to a usb drive. I would recommend Ubuntu. It has a large support base for various hardware and is not that hard for regular Windows users.

  • thnx alot this vid help me fix my old toshiba disk thnx
