Not sure of the difference between heelflip and kick flip, they kinds look the same to me. My son's trying to learn. I just uploaded his first video 2 days ago. He's young but determined. I will encourage him.

@be7169 A heel flip as you see in this video is where you flick out, and a kickflip is where you flick the otherside of the front of the board kinda weird how the board flips heelside but its a kickflip but i didnt invent them.

@atrideals i have the same problem. and its mainly because i push mongo(bad habbit to start. but i've been doing it for years) but i find that if you watch ur back foot instead of ur front foot that you tend to catch it properly. and after you get use to catching it properly you dont have to watch ur back foot as much. another good thing to do when you have a rotation problem when going down stair sets or off ledges. just watch your back foot. ur body just wants to follow ur head

@TheBuibuibui a heelflip does not have a big flick of the foot like a kickflip does. For me its almost like an ollie with my foot more forward with a roll of the heel forward.

Your shoelaces are always going to rip. That's just part of skateboarding. What might help a little is putting shoe goo on all the ends where your foot slides on the board. That might protect it a little, but they'll still end up ripping.
