It was nominated for best foreign film in 2005 at the Oscars, but of course Hollywood couldn´t give the movie the credit it deserved, just because of the Nazi theme (it is still a tabu). It should have won an Oscar. The film is in the same leauge as Das Boot and Bruno Ganz performance is by far the best Hitler personification ever. Great great actor and human being. Greetings aus Dänemark.

@Waackx. Very true, but i think the main thing is, that the character he acted was Hitler. Everything about Hitler is negative, and i think they thought that Oscar about acting the biggest massmurderer in history is too much.
