18 8X8 SS plates 3 stacks with 4 neutrals per stack applying 13.6 volts which equals about 2 volts measured between each plate producing 1 liter in 39.8 seconds at 26.5 amps
How many neutral plates do you have between each POS & NEG?
You can always add another neutral plate between each set of POS & NEG plates. This will increase the distance between the plates and will reduce amperage and heat.
I've done this with several of my designs when they run hot, and they continue to produce the same amount of gas, but the amps are reduced enough to prevent overheating.

AMPERAGE = HEAT

You cool it down by not running it at 12 volts. Switch to 3 volts hi current.............see my videos on how to do it.
