The hack is not complete. They forgot to insert glitches into the code, which makes controls unresponsive, random flashing spriters, game crashing randomly, dying in mid-air, etc. which is typical by Action 52 standards.

Probably because the sound was programmed in the Cheetahman 2 game in such a way that it was incompatible with the program code of the SMB game because of the likely different ways the software approached that function.

To patch the original music programming from Cheetaman 2 may require reworking the SMB code in a very big way; an effort that is harder than just merely rewriting the music programming in the SMB code itself to mimic the Cheetahman 2 game as best as you can get it.
