  • john williams single handedly saved the prequels

  • @commandokell Actually he says "You were my brother Anakin, I loved you!"

  • This is the music that plays when I take a shit

  • Was a terrible movie BUT gotta say it had amazing wasted potential to be an amazing film that redeemed alot of the short commings of the prequels. It could have been spetacular! Instead it was lazy I mean c'mon we have behind the scenes footage of george openley admitting to making virtualy no effort with the script and sitting on his fat ass for most of the production...its a ashame cos I really wanted to like this film >.>

  • @Uberjetsu You Kidding? This was the best of all three

  • @JoinedFlounder Oh yea by far but I mean look what it had to compare too :P

It was a definate step up but it could have been as good as the originals :(

  • These movies back in the day were something new and exciting and I must admit Episode III was not bad, however I don't think these movies are worth all the hype & money that they make each year. There are several major plotholes and the acting is horrific at some points.

If it wasn't for this epic soundtrack, Star Wars would not be the franchise that it is today.

These movies don't even compare to The Lord of the Rings Trilogy in quality.

  • @EnigmaFire360 again, you missing the deeper mythological + philosophical underpinnings of the story is not the fault of the writer.

joseph campbell called lucas his greatest student.

  • "From my point of view the Jedi are evil! We'll then you are lost!"

  • VII,VIII,IX

The Yuuzhan Vong and Sun Battles await.

    You've seen nothing yet fans.

  • The only good movie in the prequel trilogy...

    But boy was it GOOD.

  • lately I have felt more and more like A.Skywalker, there is this person in life that I cant seem to save from them self and i'm going mad trying to help them, but they pushed me out of there life along time ago. I guess I just needed someplace to vent.

IF YOU NEED ME ILL BE OFF SOMEWHERE BECOMING A SITH!

  • @drumline17 Thank you

  • Despite the fact that the prequels were awful, they sure had an amazing soundtrack.

  • @Toastynater heyy mate go actually fuck urself the prequels arnt bad ur not a true fan ill tell u wats bad ur mum in bed all she does is lie there n take it no movment !!!!!!!!!!

  • @teddieBEARgummy Great spelling bro, and by the way the prequels were bad. Instead of taking meaningful and emotional cutscenes such as Obi-Wan vs. Darth Vader in Episode Four, George Lucas raped the story starting with the Phantom Menace. So many potholes that it's unimaginable.

  • @Nerevarineownsyou i raped ur mums pothole

  • @teddieBEARgummy Nice, you used one of my words to make a childish joke. Well, we're done here.

  • @Nerevarineownsyou nigga plz.

'potholes'? why do you need everything laid out for you?

everything that needed to happen onscreen in the prequels, did.

it's not lucas' fault if you weren't paying attention.

  • @taffysaur So why was Naboo starving when its colorful ecosystem is evidence that it sustains itself?

Why include empty characters such as the Queen's double?

Why include some stupid last fight with Darth Maul and Obi-Wan, with no real emotion shown in the fight itself? Take Luke for example, in the sixth episode. He felt angry, and that anger caused him to unleash uncontrolled yet ferocious attacks on Vader. You see Obi-Wan, angry, and his swings are controlled and focused at Maul.

    And etc.

  • @Nerevarineownsyou they're staarving because they're in concentration camps. the dialogue tells us this. the queen's double is both a plot + (primarily) thematic device. if you can't see a reason for her it isn't the writer's fault. what are qui-gon + obi-wan going to be angry about? the point was to show us the jedi in their prime + inform the jedi that the sith have returned. once qui-gon's killed, obi-wan does release his emotion. and he almost loses.

  • @Nerevarineownsyou (cont'd) again, if you can't work out the underlying story, it isn't the writer's fault. what are you talking about "admitted it himself"? now you're just making stuff up, see? i could sit here typing out all the 'plot-holes' in the original trilogy (luke's only on dagobah for a couple days or han + leia are almost-kissing on the asteroid for weeks) but why bother? when i can just enjoy the movie.

  • You have no proof that I'm making stuff up, there are videos behind the scenes of him watching the first episode then realizing how much of a mess it is. The plotholes for the Original Trilogy are so minor you can't even notice them. Phantom Menace has no protagonist, has political scenes when it's a movie for children (Star Wars IV being the ultimate movie for children), you have to be told everything (blah blah trade routes blocked) instead of seeing visuals no words, and bland characters..

  • @Nerevarineownsyou that's him watching the rough cut. you could find equivalent video of him watching a new hope + realizing how terrible the edit was, if they filmed that stuff back then. if he didn't like the movie, he wouldn't have put it out.

  • @Nerevarineownsyou what's wrong w/politics in a movie for kids? they're not idiots. i only ever hear the 'adults' complain about it. a movie series about the fall of the republic is going to be about politics. it follows pretty closely the plan laid out in the new hope novelization.

  • @Nerevarineownsyou personally i wish there'd been MORE politics, rather than the possibility lucas kowtowed even slightly to people like you who think you deserve a say in the creative process. you have to 'be told' just as much in the ot ('the emperor has disolved the imperial senate. the regional governors will be in direct control of their systems now'), but you make allowances for it, like you are doing w/the equlivalent 'plot holes'.

  • @taffysaur You're trying way too hard. Go watch redlettermedia to realize your dumbfuckery.

  • @Nerevarineownsyou rly? those biased unfunny turds are your fallback? i've heard it all before. you're trying too hard to find reasons *not* to like it.

if you anhor plot "holes" so much, then what's the reasoning in yr mind behind luke's rescue plan in jedi? the reason is, as inefficient as it is, it looks cool + is a way to re-introduce the characters to the kids again.

you + rlm are looking at the movies through entirely the wrong framework, on purpose, to feel smarter than lucas. well done.

  • @taffysaur They're biased? You are so fucking stupid, I have lost an IQ point, now you're blocked, asshole.

  • @Nerevarineownsyou let's not fight sweetie.

    and yeah, biased.

  • @taffysaur (cont.) Lucus admitted it himself, it was HIS FAULT. He was disappointed clearly, you don't see filmmakers releasing a film without going over it with a few other advisors. He did not have the time or resources to redo multiple parts of the film. Even going back to the damn droid scene, where apparently it's the Viceroy's BRILLIANT PLAN to escort their most important captive with a few droids. Hell, there's plotholes (Damn spellcheck corrects it to "potholes") that go further back

  • All three prequels make a little more sense if you make one key alteration to the plot.

Padme loves Obi Wan. Not Anakin. Anakin is just a sort of rebound guy for her, since she knows she'll never get anywhere with Obi Wan. Make that one alteration to the movies, and the whole thing actually works a lot better.

    Carry on.

  • this movie is one of the best of the series if anything is rubbish about the star wars movies its the crappy clone wars movie and tv series

  • Quit bashing the prequels you morons, just because they weren't as revolutionary as the original trilogy doesn't mean they were terrible like some of you arrogant pricks pretend they are. I absolutely love everything Star Wars, and that means both of the trilogies. Stop trying to only see the bad in them and you'll realize all 6 movies can be enjoyable.

  • @drumline17 well said and they are to be watched together and if you wanted to take a break in between the 2 trilogies you can play the force unleashed ^__^ really cool

  • I loved the music in 1 and 3 best, equally. I liked all of the prequels cuz there is more laser swords and more magic. I like the original series because of the story it tells.

And just to start up flames wars: Greedo shot first.

  • this battle was my favorite part of the movie just because of this music

  • oh. THIS is the song in the menu in batlefront 2

  • This movie was amazing....John Williams contributed a lot!

  • I think this was definatley the best of the prequel trilogy, but my favourite of all 6 is empire strikes back :D

  • @GeorgeDaPunk For me, it's Revenge of the Sith and Return of the Jedi! The rise and fall of the hero and enemy!

  • @StarWarsTrains My two favorites are Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Empire used to be my favorite, but it holds a lot less meaning now amongst the entire saga.

  • 4-6 were better than 1-3 in my opinion. The only prequel I really liked was 1.

  • @brettonmage I agree with the first half of your comment, but you shall burn for the second half!

  • "you were my brother Anakin, it was said that you would destroy the sith not join them!"

  • @commandokell YOUR new Empire?!

  • "Bring balance to the force. Not leave it in darkness"

  • I don't care what people say. Revenge of the Sith is still my favorite of all 6 movies.

  • @DoodooBean yeah. I don't mind the prequels. I know people hate them but as a whole, I love the entire series.

  • @DoodooBean Cough*Empire Strikes Back*Cough

  • may the force be with you.

  • what game is that at the beginning?

  • @ZionistCensorship Star Wars Battlefront II

  • @Xboxboi79 uuh no its not...

  • @ZionistCensorship Battlefield 2 by EA and DICE

  • First film...sucked. Second film...dialog sounded like it was written by a third grader. Third film...the best of the trilogy. It was that trilogy's 'Empire'

  • @ThreeCatsScratching

I always personal found "a new hope" to be a lot better then "Empire".. yeah sure it had Yoda, but I always thought new hope was way more fresh then the other 3 but your right first film sucked, 2ed best part about it was Yoda throwing down and kicking some major ass, and 3rd film I liked.

  • @crazykillersoffical but dude...it had yoda

  • @Doommage33 yeah yoda is badass I wont lie, but I think we can agree this song is beyond badass

  • Boring movie but great, great music.

  • @Addams1x1 The movie is NOT boring and the music IS awesome

  • Is it just me, or does this music sound like the soundtrack from terminator during the beginning?

  • If the new movies were on par with the music, they'd be amazing.

  • @ShereKhanTiger the first three movies did not exactly shine in dialogue either, thats not what made them good.

  • The battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan was so intense. It is immortal, epic.

  • In my opinion, my second favorite movie of all time! Right behind 'The Dark Knight'! I grew up with this and will always cherish it no matter what!

  • Dude, check the spelling of this vid of yours.

  • @ColonelMcKnight lol thanks

  • @triheadwar1996

write your stuff good, its annoying if it is spelled wrong

  • @triheadwar1996

You still did not check the spelling...

  • @triheadwar1996 That's a hint ("Heroes" not "Heores")

  • of course the originals are better and no can tell fanboys any different but if these were shown first it would have been a great movie.... i love when heroes turn dark... it would have been an amazing twist if we didnt know he was darth vader 30 years in advance

  • @ShereKhanTiger

Disagree, not all the characters were cheap. I really felt for Obi Wan especially at the end.

  • the one in the film

  • the prequels ruined star wars the expanded universe of the original is more interesting.

  • most movies before the year 2000 were better.....i guess the lack of special fx during the olden days were made up with a good/better storyline where as most movies today have everything flashy.

  • Comment removed

  • @z3r0xT Oh you and your rose tinted glasses, you make me laugh

  • One could say the prequels are part of the expanded universe.

  • @xtremespeed128 no, one could not say that.

  • The film is perfect because of the music from maestro John Williams!!!

  • This music definetly summarizes the whole movie. It's got emtion--hate, sadness, everything! I love it!

  • music was good. but the new films totally ruined star wars. the old trilogy had such a good story and excellent characters, whereas the new ones just focused on special effects and the characters were all wrong. i also think that the way anakin turns to the dark side is abysmal.

  • Yeah, I agree with you especially for Anakin's character; if they had picked another actor than Haydn C. things might've been more interesting ^^ But then again he's not a TERRIBLE actor; it's just I find he has trouble seeming credible with the dialogue Lucas gives him. On the other hand N.Portman bravely manages to say things like "You're breaking my heart' without sounding too lame xD Still, you can't say the special effects didn't make you shiver (cf Episode 3 opening). *w*

  • oh i have no doubt the graphics were good, but what ever happened to the cool huge sets and stuff? i miss those days :-'(

  • @ MageApocolptia

yeah I used to know a guy who worked on the episode V set and they actually had a working AT-AT model that could walk and everything

  • I like how at around 1:30 it's the part when it switches from Obi and Anakin to Yoda and Sidious in the film, and both groups are fighting in epic places, and that little piece of music is saying to you "This is what you have been waiting for!"

  • YES! Yoda in action =D I love how defenseless he looks before/after the battle, and how he totally owns his opponents as soon as he has his youngling lightsaber in hand x)

  • wonderful movie!. greatly demonstates the darker side of star wars

  • @DDDestructor Wonderful movie? what were you smoking when you watched it

  • John Williams' music completely saved this movie.

  • @JTupps i think this movie completeley saved this movie

  • @JTupps No it didn't, it only made it easier to swallow.

  • @JTupps taht and all the awesome stuff that happened.

  • the music goes perfectly with the fight scene

    love it!!!

  • I love this movie.

  • I'm singing this in a choir performance. Awesome. :D

  • epic
