  • She says "We hope that people come and visit just to see our trash cans."

I saw one at the Park just a couple days at Soccer Game and it was interesting, and I searched for "Trash Compactors" thinking about it but only because I am thinking about getting one for my house not a BigBelly something bigger actually but curiously this did popped up in a Featured Video.

How is this making Philadelphia Special on top of that they have a lot of Garbage oh and the one in the cans an floors too.

  • Them niggas gonna spray the solar panel black, just like themselves! And fuck it all up!

  • wait a few months, the niggers will have them graffted up and destroyed

  • loved it!!! we need these in ohio..better yet all over the us

  • while this is a good idea, keep in mind people are being put out of work by reducing the need for them. yay continous recession!

  • omg bring them to california >:O i want themm

  • Nice mechanism and all, but I would not dare to touch that handle to open it after a day (because all those germs collected there).

  • not such a great idea but not a bad one either

IT DOESNT NOT REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF TRASH PRODUCED OF WHICH IS THE PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE

  • Well it does address a issue with CO2 emissions, your entirely correct with the issue of reducing the amount generated, but you have to remember everything is done in steps not just one extreme to the other.

  • dont stick ur hands an the trash can, kids

  • Great invention.

  • "and save 13 million over the next 10 years"

something tells me installing these compactors alone will cost more then that.

  • They cost about $4000 each, but regular city trash cans can cost up to $1500 each. If it holds five times as much, you're easily saving money per trash can per decreased delivery pickup.

  • bingo

  • I only see 1 problem if youre friend plays a joke or some crap and goes in it wouldint be very pretty so maybe if something moves it should stop XD

  • well thats true.and you know what comes on the operators screen?THRASHCAN 35 IS ALIVE!!!!

  • Nice vid! BTW what's the name of the song in background? Please say someone! take care!

  • it says in the credits at the end of the video

  • one little problem, what if a little 5 year old kid stuck his hand ni there right in from of the lazer and then he got his hand chopped off

  • Well, basically, they should have acess to the place where you put the garbage, not to the deposit. which will be locked :)

  • they would make the opening area similar to one of a mail box, when it is open it is imposible to access the storage area, when it closes the garbage or mail falls down with the rest of the garbage/mail..

  • We need plenty of those in California...oops I forgot we are broke

  • >>>Great idea.

We need this all over the world.

Linfen, China would be a great place to start.

  • or Neapel, Italy

  • Like almost every GOOD video - superb positive ideas and amazing editing.

On a side note - Does anyone know the song played at the end?

  • danielpenaDOTtumblrDOTCOM

  • I think everywhere should have these, however looking at the comments I'm guessing some people would mess about with them putting in pressurized cans and stuff. Still an amazing invention! How much does a single BigBelly cost?

  • Hmm... I know why these were invented: for cans of shaving cream (or spray foam). ***Wait for the can to fill most all the way, then put your cans of shaving cream in, when it's compression time it will have contracted rabies and begin frothing at the mouth! I wish they had them here... it would be so fun...

  • Hmm... The bigbelly can act as a baby juicer, leaving you with baby juice and... A teenybaby? Yeah... That sounds about right, still very horrific, unless you happen to like baby juice.

  • city governments should hurry up and put those on every street in every city

  • Nice "green" concept. What happens on a cloudy stretch of days ?

  • it doesnt constantly compact plus i would assume it can store excess enegry. cant be cloudy for a month...

  • Wow, this is incredible and amazingly useful, efficient etc...

Fabulous invention, these should be all over the United States. All states/cities have absolutely NO reason not to use them because they can only benefits from its implementation.

  • this thing exists in europe since at least 2 years!!!

  • People won't use it because of the door. Take off the door, you've got something.

  • door is a turn-off, but required.

If there was an open-can right next to it, people would throw things in the open can. But with no alternative (other than dropping things on the street) I'm guessing most people will use them.

  • People will throw stuff on the street while standing right next to a garbage can.

With the door, you're losing the whole germaphobe population right there.

  • Take off the door and a whole load of bums looking for food will lose their hands...

  • It would have been easy enough to engineer an internal guard that would have prevented that. If you look at the inside of the door when they have the unit open, it already has a guard system.

  • I like th enew logo

  • 1:37. Everything in that bin is recyclable. Apart from that, a very good idea.

  • why aren't those things all over the world yet?

  • finally, a technology that makes the concept of a dumpster baby over 9000 times more horrifying

  • holy... shit...

  • <3 good magazine. Spread this youtube channel!

  • fantastic idea. absolutely set them up in more places!! set them up all over the US!!

  • I <3 Good

  • brilliant

  • JEFF CONRAD!!!

  • There will still be trash that isn't being recycled properly

  • @volumedealer1 UR THE TRASH THAT WASNT RECYCLED PROPERLY

MOOWOUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HA HA HA HA HI HI HA HA

  • I've heard that philly has a "trash" problem....Cough cough...Michael Vick...cough cough

  • don't worry...

    Dog compactors coming in 2011

  • Brilliant concept and I hope to see it in more areas one day. Next maybe we'll tackle the actual waste problem itself.

  • really great idea, good job

  • This is so dope...go GOOD!

  • Wow, it's so simple I haven't thought about it.. :O

  • this is more than a good idea... it's GREAT! I agree. We need to get these set up everywhere!

  • i thought it was a good idea untill they said it was solar... that makes it perfect

  • what a brilliant idea! man i wish i was doing this for a living!

  • Once again ANOTHER video from GOOD which is basically product endorsement... did we hear of other ways, rival products no we just had 'BigBelly' repeated over and over again.....

GOOD please go back to just producing unbiased clear cut information rather than this!

  • I agree 100%, Whereas a solar powered trash compactor is a good idea it, product endorsement cheapens the message and sullies the name of Good.

  • sounds like a good idea but if this was in detroit them fools would wreck it rip it off and use it in their homes Also would be good in DC and specially in the with house

  • perfect. these should be everywhere

  • why isnt this on the news?! these need to be all over the U.S.!!

  • awesome

  • we need this thing all over the world :D

  • haha

  • never heard the term "compaction" before...

  • interesting
