GOOD: BigBelly Trash Compactors

I saw one at the Park just a couple days at Soccer Game and it was interesting, and I searched for "Trash Compactors" thinking about it but only because I am thinking about getting one for my house not a BigBelly something bigger actually but curiously this did popped up in a Featured Video.

How is this making Philadelphia Special on top of that they have a lot of Garbage oh and the one in the cans an floors too.

Well it does address a issue with CO2 emissions, your entirely correct with the issue of reducing the amount generated, but you have to remember everything is done in steps not just one extreme to the other.

They cost about $4000 each, but regular city trash cans can cost up to $1500 each. If it holds five times as much, you're easily saving money per trash can per decreased delivery pickup.

Well, basically, they should have acess to the place where you put the garbage, not to the deposit. which will be locked :)

they would make the opening area similar to one of a mail box, when it is open it is imposible to access the storage area, when it closes the garbage or mail falls down with the rest of the garbage/mail..

I think everywhere should have these, however looking at the comments I'm guessing some people would mess about with them putting in pressurized cans and stuff. Still an amazing invention! How much does a single BigBelly cost?

I know why these were invented: for cans of shaving cream (or spray foam). ***Wait for the can to fill most all the way, then put your cans of shaving cream in, when it's compression time it will have contracted rabies and begin frothing at the mouth! I wish they had them here... it would be so fun...

If there was an open-can right next to it, people would throw things in the open can. But with no alternative (other than dropping things on the street) I'm guessing most people will use them.
