It is simply BS that you need to go so low in a dip, also for chest. first there is not a whole lot of tension going on.. not in your triceps or chest. Also, going so low is a invitation to shoulder injury.
Anyone know where I can get a routine using the dip/pullup/pushup machine? I own one, but no clue on a routine thats effective. Any help appreciated thanks!
by putting ur head down stops u coming up straight which brings the tricep into play also stop a little shorter than lock out this guy looks as though he is doing a tricep dip but the expert is talking chest dip hhhhmmmm im confused
When you do a chest deep the triceps come into play, when you lean forward and avoid locking your elbows you minimize the usage of the triceps and maxims the usage of the pectoralis major, the angel of your head don't affect any of this things.
@MrLrndj these are perfect chest dips. Leaning forward puts further stress on chest. Of course it works your triceps. It is impossible to extend your arms without working your triceps. This is a chest dip though.
Coming straight up as you say is called a tricep dip.
hahahahaha get a diff dummy

for a chest dip you want to bring your arms straight out to the side--when doing this it puts more stress on the front delt.

@RsN92
He got tired so he did lock his arm is most of the video...
But you need to remember that there is a fine line between locking the arm and keeping it slightly bent

@MrLrndj do a dip and tilt your body and you will feel it in the chest dont tilt your body and it will all be on your triceps pretty much.
