The Japanese do not want the U.S military to completely remove them selves. Trust me they realize the importance of U.S presence in Japan due to some regional instability. The Japanese view the American forces as it's protectors with the best military and equipment the world has to offer. The reason of the protest is mostly due to cultural division among the young American forces and the large elderly populations of Okinawa. As usual it somehow always comes down to money so we will see.

Did Japan just wake up one day and say: let's do Pearl Harbor? no reason just do it.

If I recall, it was the US backed embargoes that angered Japan. Because Japan and Russia were both fighting for Chinese land, the US embargoed Japan and Japan struck Pearl Harbor as a response.

I don't support their cause or whatever but knowing the why is a good thing I'd say.

@uturniaphobic the US embargoed Japan because they were invading other countries and allied with the axis powers. They told japan to cease and when japan didnt they cut them off. Japan brought it all on themselves. Japan chose war and the reality of things are when you lose a war in an unconditional surrender then you really have no say in the matters that follow. Sucks for them it really does but you reep what you sow or in this case you reep what you ancestors sow.

@AZCprez23. All I can say is look at the Pentagon Budget...this is just the stuff they admit to spending on. The US has the biggest Army in the world, even if you add-up all the other armies in all the other nations, all their spending pales in comparison to ours.

These are dollars that used to fund schools and fix roads or whatever. now it's all for weapons. We pay lives and money into a hole.

@AZCprez23 if you pay taxes at all it is for military to some degree. I believe 43% of all federal tax dollars goes to war toys and the boys. So file a tax return and we contribute.

Things will not change. Therefore I must! Unless I want this burden forever. thinking about leaving this great country, personally. We no longer share a common interest in my opinion.
