@Asimov23581321 Yes, Rob Paravonian did this idea first, but the way I see it 1) Axis of Awesome has a much more impressive list of songs and 2) They use the same idea with a different chord progression. Not to mention Rob's fast section includes songs that only use one half of the bass line. Many songs that start with the bass line correct don't finish it the same because they move to the V chord a beat early and hold it for two beats instead of moving IV-V.

Actually, Benny Davis first performed this in 2006, it was his own composition. More to the point, the chords to Pachelbel's Canon are 1, 5, 6 then 3, whereas most of the songs he includes in the medley use chords 1, 5, 6, 4, and some don't have the same chords at all, so he got it wrong and these guys have it right. So don't go accusing someone of plagiarism before you realise what a douchebag you are. Axis of Awesome rule.

That's right! But you mean chords 1 to 7. Since music is all relative, rather than referring to chords by their letter names, you can refer to them by their scale degrees, to facilitate transposition and the like. For example, in C Major, C Maj is chord 1, E min is chord 3, B dimished is chord 7. Or in A flat minor, Abmin is chord 1, Bb diminished is chord 2, and Eb Maj is chord 5. Easy!

The only thing that matched up was the 16 bars.

The actual tune only for a few, but with the singing over the top you don't really notice.

If you banged on a drum to a 16 bar beat, singing over the top, it will sound like it fits in perfectely
