And this is why gamespot sucks now. They were making money back in the day because they had good content and great coverage. They were then bought by a company who thought that the gamespot name was all that mattered, so they hired people who knew nothing about game sso they could reduce salaries. Most of Gamespot's employees don't play games at all. (At least that's what I came to based on their terrible reviews and the fact they often made huge errors when reporting a story.)

@Ares42 Red Dead actually runs in native 720p, which is HD. Also, most people can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p unless it's a HUGE tv. The human eye just cant differentiate one from the other.

@FellS3raph RDR does not deserve this. It gets repetitive as fuck during the last 5-6 hours of gameplay. Every mission consists of going to talk to someone, going to the destination, killing a set number of people and the mission (9/10 times) ends right there on the spot. Herding is a fucking pain to, while its not broken, it is a nuisance to me. RDR's a great game for it's WORLD, but not in gameplay wise. I actually thought Fallout New Vegas had a better world... without the glitches of course.

RDR is a great game i liked it and i didn't think that it was a GTA clone with a different setting, overall a good game. That said I've played all 5 God of war games and I'm not to much of a button masher fan but i will commend it for the sweet visuals and entertaining story, But what i wanna know is how the fuck does Heavy Rain not take the cake? no one has done anything like it before they took a big risk and it payed off... As a ps3 owner I honestly think GOW3 is overrated and fact is its just a side scrolling button masher with good graphics. RDR is a great game and deserved IMO to win, (if you disagree don't bother replying as I don't give a shit about your opinion) should they have a section for exclusives and another for non-exclusive games? Probably, but this is the way it is. RDR should not be penalized for not being an exclusive.

As far as I'm aware, this is the first time a multiplatform game was considered and won the GOTY for both major systems on the market. I could be wrong of course, but assuming I'm right, any game that could win both system's GOTY deserves the over all award as well (which it got).
