@Homeandawayguy Yes I can imagine her playing the scenes and she would indeed have been very good. However, "Dale" was only ever invented because Debra Lawrence became pregnant in real life so they wrote her pregnancy into the show. Chances are this storyline wouldn't have happened if Vanessa had stayed in the show.
First class performances from the entire cast in one of the most memorable storylines of Home & Away. Debra Lawrance and Dennis Coard were absolute exceptional here with excellent supporting roles played by Kate Ritchie, Tina Thomsen, Nicole Dickson and Bruce Roberts. The whole plot just flowed so naturally and you really felt it was a real situation. I loved the compassionate way in which the female ambulance officer dealt with Pippa and Michael too. Great stuff.
My goodness, 14:33 is just TOO sad. :( I do wish the 'breakdown' scene in the bedroom was given a gentler underscore though, I love that theme, but imo, that particular version is a bit too 'heavy' for such a sad scene, it's almost bordering on cheery. The one they used earlier, when Michael went downstairs to Sally/Finlay would have been better I think. But I'm just morbid like that, the sadder the better :P
Thanks for putting this up! Yeah, this notoriously didn't get a primetime showing due to football. Probably a good thing in hindsight as it was so upsetting.
Remember this from when I was little, I was in Year 5 at the time. I felt really sad at the end of the ep and when this one aired, it was a lunchtime only ep in the UK (This was the days before the show had an omnibus and if you missed it, you missed it, unless you had a VCR).
And they were like Baby, baby, baby noooo!
