About you mentioning Czechoslovakia being established by decision of allies - you must understand, that Czechoslovakia was an allied state as the USA recognized our right for independence in 1916. Czechoslovak legions fought bravely with allies (especially legions in eastern front, though they couldn't turn the german led Lenin's revolution). The fact is, that Hungary chose in both world wars wrong side to bleed for, and that is the reason, why you lost most of your territory. Don't blame us!

this is a common mistake... many nations does it too. for example there is a romanian video claiming words of romanian origin in the hungarian language... if you take a look 90% of those words are of slavic origin. :D

You're right, Kovac is a Slovak word, commonly used as a surname in Hungary. The Hungarian translation is Varga, and that is, on the other hand, a quite common Slovak surname. Maybe your name was changed during the time of forced magyarisation (the process of destroying Slavic/Slovak culture, for example kids were forced to speak H. otherwise they were beaten at schools), that´s the way my great-grandmother's name was changed,she was from a noble family and it was unacceptable to keep a Slovak name in a country run by Hungarian elite

I' m told correct and modern way to spell Babyar in Slovak is BabIAR and that Magyar spelling would have been BabYAR.I see many Babiars listed there in 1996 cencus but no Babyars. A few Babjars too.I'm guessing that BabYAR truly is Slovak, not Hungarian,and was changed FROM Babiar before my grandpa was born in1886. My GP's brother name was translated from Slovak to English as BabIAR in NY. I'm told that the y in Babyar looks like j in Slovak and sounds like an I or Y.

About you mentioning Czechoslovakia being established by decision of allies - you must understand, that Czechoslovakia was an allied state as the USA recognized our right for independence in 1916. Czechoslovak legions fought bravely with allies (especially legions in eastern front, though they couldn't turn the german led Lenin's revolution). The fact is, that Hungary chose in both world wars wrong side to bleed for, and that is the reason, why you lost most of your territory. Don't blame us!

He is right, Kováč is common Slovak word, it means Smith - who forges and shapes iron with a hammer and anvil. Czech: Kovář. Polish: Kowal. Russian: Kузнец. Serbian: Kovač. And now do you think, Slavic nations brought this word from you? How naive ;)

this is a common mistake... many nations does it too. for example there is a romanian video claiming words of romanian origin in the hungarian language... if you take a look 90% of those words are of slavic origin. :D
all tend to believe that their words are not loanwords. but also slovaks have some hungarian words as well as some romanian words. we all loaned for each other. ;)

You're right, Kovac is a Slovak word, commonly used as a surname in Hungary. The Hungarian translation is Varga, and that is, on the other hand, a quite common Slovak surname. That's all folks...btw. thanks for the video, nice to see that these SVK-HUN conflicts is just a battle for dumb voters (that means its more artificially created problem of politicians), than some kind of hate between nations

Its nice from you,but if some Magyar insults my ancestors,I wont be quiet. I have Magyar friends living in Slovakia,but they dont argue they are "pure Magyars" and Slovak land belongs to them. They are OK, but these "antitrianon" guys are not. Thats all.
