Just an FYI, a few decades ago the Taliban killed a group of Iranian diplomats in the Afghan city of Mazaar and were almost attacked by the Iranian military. Iran HATES the Taliban. By now they might share common interests but its something to think about in regard to Iran/Afghanistan relations.
This is bullshit. Taliban are hardliner Sunni Muslim and see Shiite Iran as corrupter's of the Islamic religion. There is no way Iran would support people that want to harm them. Iran does however support the small population of Shiites that are in Afghanistan whom are persecuted and killed by the Taliban.
Also Taliban are allies of Al-Qaeda who conduct attacks against Iranian interests abroad. As well Iran provided Intelligence support to American during the invasion of Afghanistan on targets to bomb.
You can't blame Iran for NATO members lack of commitment to the War. Especially the United States who went off to fight for oil and new place for military bases in Iraq. The resurgence of the Taliban is without a doubt mainly the U.S.'s fault.
I agree with most of what you said. However I think you are over looking a few pints here. Number one the Taliban often make fanciful boasts, the assertion that Iran is helping them could well be one.
Second is the fact these allegiances of Sunni and Shia are not always set in stone. Yes they are real, but there is no law of nature that says that it is impossible that they work together.
Third is the fact that Iran does not like Nato and American forces on its border.
i think they would, so long as they are agains us. We did the same in when the soviets faught the taliban, just to jab them in the eye, not to support any ideology.

You can blame them for funding Shiite groups across the region and a few friendly Sunni insurgents like Hamas in Gaza.
