Piaggio is a small manufacturer from Italy. It seems impossible it can stay on the same market as Beechcraft. The Piaggio 180 has got the very same engine as The King Air90. Its speed is higher by 30%. This advantage could be payed in terms of safety. The P-180 project is too unique in the aeronautical landscape to be the right solution. If I could affor an airplane I'd rather buy a Beechcraft.
Actually, the P180 has the same engines and roughly the same DOC as the King Air B200. where cruise speeds, cruising altitude climb rates, comfort, noise levels, and cabin pressurization are concerned, the Avanti II (or, for that matter, the Avanti I) wins hands down.... NO comparison.
Parts and support were problematic issues for the P180, but much progress has been made. I'd put my cabbage on the Avanti any day.
so you judge an aircraft solely on how it looks... "this advantaged COULD be payed in terms of safety"...that means you dont know that for sure...so....just in case, just because it look diff, the beech has got to be better...this world is governed by guys that think that way...thats how we are...
Awesome, beautiful and innovative. I wath one land here in Vero Beach often I would just LOVE to climb inside one time.
