I,m 18 and i wanted to ask u a ? i'm thinking of becoming a Muslimah but i don't know if its the right thing for me i wanted to see what you think about what i want to do
Hi , i just wanted to ask if you've ever heard of a Muslim by the name of Joshua Evans? He's been on the Deen show and he is a convert to Islam ...i just thought you might be interested and wanted to know if you've heard of him and his conversion story "How the Bible led me to Islam" :) - I am christian by the way , but still thought of letting you know
I converted to Islam 3 months ago and I am from Estonia, which is the most non religious country in the EU..I don't wear the hijab until now and can't see myself wearing it anytime in the near future, yetI pray and wish that one day inshallah i will have it in me, to wear it..
I know its an obligation, but aside from that, other muslims and the mosque here tells me even plucking eyebrows and make up is forbidden, yet i see you do it? Please answer what you think about this :((
I am a guy. Ran into your channel and fell in love with the topics you hit, and the advice you give (even though it's directed towards women). I still think it's useful for me. So I have a situation that I would like to share with you and I would like your advice on it because I honestly don't know what to do. And yes, it's a guy/girl problem. It would be very long to write out so could I send you everything through a message?
I don't wear a hijab. I would like to but I have a boyfriend. I know Islam does not approve of this. But my question isn't about that, it is about the hijab. We are planning on getting married next year, so would it be better for me to wait until after we are married?
I had a question I had started to wear hijab a little over a year ago, but had to stop because I kept getting a bad rash on my neck and scalp due to the fact that I have had alot of issues with acne. I feel guilty ever since, do you think it would be a bad thing to restart wearing it once in a while? I want to start again InshAllah but I want to start slowly and see how my skin reacts?
my name is Fatima.i am going to umra in a couple of days,im going to wear a burqa but i jst want to wear a nice hijab on top but i want my chest area covered, can u plz do a video on a hijab style which i can wear on top of my burqa but with my chest covered.
heyy im only16 and wanted to know if you could start a weddding design stuff for hijabies because even though im not getting married ay time soon im just worried a bit about my wedding and how things will go and i thought maybe you could start a wedding collection for hijabies on pearl daisy i bet all hijabies will trully appreciate it well toodles bye :D
could you please tell how we as muslim hijabis can adjust in this society. Everything from rude comments to becoming comfortable around people at university, attending social gatherings at Uni, parties etc. If we feel we cant go as there are inappropriate things such as alcohol etc. how can we respond to these situations etc.
I guess basically i want to know how to adjust at University without feeling left behind in any way. Also, please tell, is this Desi way of -rishta seeing allowed in islam?
a.alaikum amena....i lke ur hijab wearin styles n m happy 2 c dat lotssa ppl our followin it.may allah subanawatallah reward u 4 dat...i msgd u 4 another favour...vl u pls include a video 2 xplain dat pluckin eyebrows in islam is haram..i myself usd 2 pluck eyebrows 2 beautify myself..wen i started readin articles about it i completely stopped it..so pls inform our muslim sisters dat in islam it is haram...hope u vl not neglect dis message...
Amena sister I love your vidoe ! <3 they are so inspiring and they help you out alot!!! I have two questions. What's your background and are you somehow related to makeupadikt ? you both look exactly the sameee lol just wondering <3 xoxo
How did you come to the decision of when to have your first child? What did you consider? Also when it came to having your second child, it looks as though there appears to be a small age gap between the two...was this on purpose and what pros and cons did you consider when making these decisions?
How has this impacted your work life? Are there times in which (with all due respect) you wished you would have done anything differently?
I found you yesterday and I love your videos, I watched almost all of them already! c:
I was wondering if you could give me some advice, I want to convert, but I would have to lie about being Muslim until I go off to college.(Peers/ family would NOT accept) I don't want to lie, but I REALLY don't want to wait either. What should I do? I would take my shahada right now if I wasn't worried about this.
I would like yo start by saying that ur tutorials have inspired me! A week or two bk i was thinkinh about wearin a hijab and i started wtchn tutorials and urs helpd alot. It has been a week that i have been wearn my hijab and alhamdulillah its been going great!
But i would like some advice on what i shud read and look into to becum a better muslim woman. As i am seekinh knowledge. And would like to learn more.
I just recently started watching your videos.. even though i started wearing a hijab 7 months ago.. but i just came across your videos and thought WOW.. i lovee this sisterrrr lol.
MashaALLAH i love your hijab styles, and you look beautiful in all the styles you do Masha ALLAH.
I went on the pear daisy website.. and feel like buying everythingggg !
InshaALLAH im gonna save up and buy all the scarfs and broches i want at once.
I am wondering about conversion. If someone has not lived such a halaal life in the past (for instance, premarital sex) but they have found the right path to Islam, how do other Muslims respond to it? I know that Allah is forgiving, but in terms of finding a Muslim husband, how do you explain that you are not a virgin? and will most men be understanding of this?
Hi, I feel kinda silly doing this but I just really need an answer. I'm seriously thinking about reverting, but there's one thing that's holding me back; the concept of evolution. I just can't dismiss this when there are so many scientists who agree with the theory and when they've found so much evidence. Is there any way that the two can be reconciled, or is believing in evolution impossible for a Muslim? Please answer this, I'm really having a dilemma and I need some advice.
i was wondering: could u do a hijab style thats fast and easy to get on, and stays on? i need something for my volleyball and soccer team, and for gym too. i'd appreciate if u'd look into this, but its ok if u dont too. thanks for all ur *amazing* posts! :)
I have maybe funny question for you... Do you think you could try to make tutorial about how to wrap hijab when we want to go skiing hehe? I have sport jacket for skiing and I dont know how to combine hijab with this sport style for skiing and snowboarding... That would be really very useful for me (I m sure not only for me). Jazakallah Khair
Insh'Allah your well and at your highest point of Imaan. I have just recently discovered pearl daisy and your hijab tutorials which are really impressive btw.
There are so many scarfs I want from pearl daisy, I've been looking for a few of the colours for ages so I am very excited. A lot of them are out of stock so I wanted to know when they will be available again?
amena , i have a small issue ... underscarf doesn't suit me it gives me a blunt look ..i have tried the bonnet underscarf it looks awful .. instead of that what can i use ? im familar to the pointed looking style i hope u get wat i mean ...
Salaam Amena! I really like the whole assymetrical look you did with the square scarf in one of your videos. I myself have experimented w/squares scarves, treating them like a wrap scarf of sort--I fold the square scarf over just a little bit length/width-wise, but I haven't been successful in making the scarf look neat when I wrap. I was wondering if you had any ideas, being that you're quite the hijab guru (MashAllah!). Anyways, JazakAllahu khairan! Continue the good work! Salaam!
I'm Miriam, i'm 16 Years Old n' I Live in Milan, Italy.
i wear headscarf since a month more or less and i noticed that since i wear it my hair tend to fall and i don't know why. Can u help me to find any solutions?
I have a question for u about the dresses frm Asos. i was looking at a few of them, and the description of the dress says "Size 10 length measures 34.5in (88cm) -- Side neck to hem". What does this mean? Does this mean the length of the dress? This is my first tym buying frm there and looking at the dresses they seem a bit short, or is it that the models are tall? What sort of length are the dresses u buy frm Asos? Are they up to the knees?

I have a question for you. I have been thinking about wearing hijab for a long time and was thinking about the small things I would have to change in my life.
So I was wondering...where do you get your haircut?
have you had to change small things like that in your life since you've started wearing hijab?
And if so, has it been challenging, difficult, or simple?
@Amenakin Salaam! Were you born into Islam, or did you revert at some point in your life? Just curious. I noticed you always seem very happy in your videos. I wish I was as happy as you appear. I am a Christian, and born into a Christian family, but I feel spiritually un-fulfilled, and generally not happy. I am still agonizing over the whole Christian VS Islam debate on which is the TRUTH. I don't want to make the wrong choice, for obvious reasons...
salaam sister! i do not wear hijab but i have been considering it for a while. I am finding it difficult to find a hijab style that may suit me, i have a sort of skinny face but my chin is quite stiky outy lol if that makes sence =s i lovee the volumised style, but i was wondering if u could give me some tips of other styles and if volumised is a good idea! thank you. =)
Assalam Walaikum sister..there is a certain Hijab Style that I was hoping you could do..i have a picture for reference..is there any way i could send you the picture??..and mayb if you want you could do a tutorial on it??,..Thanks you so much for your wonderful videos..I am a great fan =)

salamz. could you please tell me the style and type of hijab you are wearing on the top right hand corner of your channel page.love your tutorials! jazakallah
I have a beautiful scarf that I was given that I desperately want to use to decorate my hijabs but I'm concerned that it's not modest enough. It's sheer black with silver coins and beads trimming the edges. I've seen pictures online of women wearing similar scarves but I'm wondering if you know anything about the culture that these come from or if it would be considered too flashy for me to wear (I have an amira that I wear underneath.) As always, thank you most kindly.
can you please do a video encouraging girls to wear hijaab, why you do it, what you get out of it, the respect, and when you started;what motivated you.
please....some girls like me out there really need this, and maybe your video can be the perfect boost for us?
@iAnniex3 hi... I've already done a video like this, called "Hijab Story: How/why I started wearing it", or something like that! Hope you get a chance to watch it as I think it will cover what you're requesting :o)
Hi Amenakin, I've been watching your videos and I love them.
I would like to have some advice on boys. Yes BOYS. I know it sounds a bit ... you know. lol! But don't worry, It's not what you think it is.
The thing is, I can't stop thinking about them. I am a high school girl so this makes it harder! I don't want to think too much about them, I just want to focus on my life rather than thinking about boys. Do you know any books that'll help me. I just want to get my mind off of them!
Assalaamu alaykum!! Well, I thought I'd drop you a note just letting you know that i really like your videos and you are so creative mashallah!! A request if I may....I know you get loads of them but still- thought I'd give it a shot:)Can you please do some different styles with flowers/bandos/fascinators? I know you have done a few (by flowers I don't mean the underscarves- But actual flower clips etc) because I love flowers, they look so trendy and add colour!I would be thrilled if you could:)
ohh and i have another question, would you consider selling other stuff besides the ones you have on your website? such as abayas, sari orrr long dresses that would go really well with the hijabs/hoojabs? :) fi amanillah, sister.
i was just wondering how you deal with makeup all the time? because for me it's really hard to put on make up all the time because i have to wash it out for salah prayer anyway? are there any make-up products you could suggest for me? i really love wearing mascara and eyeliner but it definitely will smudge when i take my wudhu'. my face also gets really dry after every wudhu, which moisturiser would you recommend? sorry i have a lot of questions :p jazakillah. xx
i have a really chubby face and i wanted to know what hijab styale will suit me because i have tried some of your hijab tutorials but nothing seem to be working
so would it be possable for u 2 do a tutorial or something x
I was wondering what your views on the niqab are. What do you think of women that wear niqab? Do you think it's compulsory? Do you think that niqab should only be black, should niqabbi's only wear black? Do you think it's acceptable for a modest woman who wears niqab to decorate it and find different, beautiful styles like you do with your hijab?
As always, thank you for all your insightful videos.
I'd just like to know a consistent time in which it's possible to read Fajr throughout the whole year? Becase the starting and finishing times are always changing depending on the season! Bit of a weird question, I know! But if anyone can find out for me then please let me know!
I just wanted to ask what do u do when your hair need a trim? As hijabis can't go to a random hairdresser's.
I was also wondering if you could give us some tips on how to dress modestly wearing occidental clothes as i find it difficult sometimes to cover without ending up having 10000 layers, if that makes sense lol excuse my English.
Please keep doing what u do m'A you're amazing and so inspirational!
May Almighty Allah guide us all to His straight path, ameen.
i have been trying to find long arm sleeves for some time now and cant find any that are as long as the ones on pearl-daisy...but they are out of stock...please let me know when you will have them again..i really want to be able to wear them this summer!
I'm not a Muslim but I am considering reverting. I love hijab & niqab and the whole feeling of modesty & respect I get when I am dressed as a Muslimah. I have seen you wear tikka's on a number of occasions & I believe them to be a beautiful & modest way to adorn oneself. My question is this: Do you think that I would offend anyone by wearing a tikka or any other kinds of Indian jewelry? I'm a pasty caucasian & don't wish to offend anyone. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
@Nekochan57 wa 'alaikum as-salaam... I don't see why anyone would be offended by that - I, for one, wouldn't find it offensive in the least. I have a caucasian, non-Muslim friend who wears Indian clothes & jewelry when I do & nobody's ever reacted negatively. As for your reversion, I pray God puts such a deep love for Him in your heart that you do it the moment you read this reply, i'A! Take care & keep in touch!
Asalaamu 'Alaikum Amena, just wondering if you, or anyone, could advise or recommend which english translation of the Quran is good for new Muslims or those thinking of reverting? I have been told that there are translations that have been written by disbelievers that don't give the correct interpretation of the meaning of the Quran, also that there are some that have been translated into english that is difficult to understand. All thought sand opinions are greatly appreciated :D
@Amenakin Insha'Allah! It would be sooo helpful :D I have been indecisive for a while about buying a translation because I do not know if I am making the correct choice.
ASSALAMOALAIKUM...wanted 2 noe how u pronounce ur name..nd i also hav a request cud u plz do any tutorials wch go perfect wd shalwar kameez N dupatta bcz only scarf dsnt cover me da i wanna b covered so i wear dupatta but dupatta and scarf together makes me luk kind of older wen im only 17 so plz help me wd sum tutorials telling how 2 wear dupatta WID scarf dat make me covered YET stylish...N BTW ur very butiful...MASHAALLAH...and thnx 4 showing da positiv ISLAM by making scarves look so BUTIFUL
Could I also suggest (alongside Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, whom Amena already mentioned): Imam Suhaib Webb and Imam Zaid Shakir. Masha'Allah they are gifted speakers, highly educated and highly knowledgeable. To put it simply they're awesome!
Any other favourites, sisters, do add to the list insha'Allah...

Asalaamu alaikum Amena, I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of some of the scholars that you read. I would like to follow up on them. Shukrun!
@ample0eyes wa 'alaikum as-salaam, sister. I read/watch/listen to mostly these Sheikhs: Abdal Hakim Murad, Hamza Yusuf, Sheikh Yaqoubi, Sheikh Ninowy, Martin Lings.Hope that helps i'A & let me know how you get on with the material you encounter :o)
Jazak Allah khair for your videos, I love them, honestly.
Recently I've seen more and more of these big cotton square scarves with 'tasseled' edges in the shops. The type that some people fold into a triangle and wear around their necks. They're larger than the silk type ones (up to 1m by 1m) and have a different edge/texture. What do you think, could you create a style? That would be awesome insha'Allah.
@gibbusoft Wa 'alaikum as-salaam :o) First, I think we have different perspectives on makeup/jewelry; I don't see it as 'glorifying' (sounds rather ostentatious), rather I feel it's a form of beautification. The 5 'pillars' of Islam aside, there are dozens of "lesser" issues within Islam that have dozens of different rulings. The Shari'a isn't a fixed set of rules - it changes depending on context, and many scholars have differences of opinion on many aspects of Islam, from (Part 1 of 2)
(Part 2 of 2) social issues, to family life, to clothing requirements, to beautification. I respect the opinions of all knowledgeable people. However, I am obviously of the opinion that makeup is not "haraam" (forbidden). I won't get into explaining this, as I'm not here making videos to justify my religiosity to judgmental people (not you, but others).
As with any other aspect of your life/faith, if you believe in your heart that it's "wrong" to do something, for instance, use make-up, don't do it - if you feel this way, I wouldn't encourage you to do otherwise.
assalamualaikum amena.. really appreciate ur gorgeous hoojabs n hijabs styles.. could u make a tutorial in what style would be nice if i were to wear maxi dresses?
Salam! I just found your videos yesterday--love them and your style so much! And it's funny to see your family interacting in the background:)
I do have a question: I've been trying to find where to buy the kind of long-sleeve undershirts with a long neck (preferably online). I need the kind that are form-fitting so it doesn't add more bulk under my clothes. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
@zedster3 wa 'alaikum as-salaam, sister. I'm sorry, I'm not sure which online shops sell the ones you've described but I do know there are some (like New Look online) which sell long sleeved t-shirts. You can take out the label and wear it back to front if the neck is too low as the back tends to be higher. Hope that helps!
Salam. I would like you to talk about organic cosmetics/make up. As muslims should we try to use organic or even halal products? If yes where can we find them? thank you.
Salam! I would like you to talk about organic and natural cosmetics/make up. As muslims should we try to use organic or even halal cosmetics? If yes, where can we find it? Thank you

Salam Amena, I just started watching your videos after I had my baby boy, I love them all and may Allah bless you for your great job, I wanted to ask you if you know any good books about islam but in English, I am Arab and I speak arabic but since I live in the USA I get so many questions about our great religion that I can not answer easily sicne I have not read alot abotu Islam in English. so can you please suggest any good books?
I am just wondering if you, or any other sister could give me some advice. I have been thinking about reverting to islam for a few weeks but the problem I am having is telling my family. My parents have no belief in any sort of god, and my dad in particular is very strongly against following any religion.
I know that they will not be happy about my choice but I am certain is the right one, I just have no idea what is the easiest and kindest way to tell them.
Wa 'alaikum as-salaam, sister. I think if you are afraid of telling them because they are anti-religion, you should drop hints first about your fondness of religion. Perhaps start a conversation about something you saw/read about a religion and express how you liked it. Then, over time, drop hints about your interest in Islam, and then gradually sit them down and explain to them why you're making the decision to become Muslim. In the meantime, remember that you CAN actually begin your (1 of 2)
(2 of 2) life as a Muslim, by declaring your shahada. Why wait, when you can start over now :o) I hope that was helpful, and do let me know how it goes or if you'd like more specific detail in a video. I'm due to make another 'Answers' one soon anyway.
Thanks for the advice Amena, I have been dropping hints for the past few days however my parents are not being very understanding, if I bring up anything to do with religion then I am often shouted at, my parents have also been threatening to stop be from seeing my best friend [she reverted over a year ago] as they think she is a bad influence for me.
As for declaring the shahada, I have not yet done so. I still live with my parents and I feel it would cause a lot of conflict if I were to revert without them knowing.
I think it would be much easier on us all if I were to inform them that I am going to revert before I actually do even if they do not agree.
@Amenakin I'm fantastic, Alhamdulillah. Yes I have told them! :D Though I don't think they are taking me completely seriously. I'm working on that though [: My mum think it's just a phase and told me to come back an discuss it with her when I am 21! I'm certainly not waiting that long. My dad on the other hand just doesn't want to listen, however if my mum doesn't have a problem then neither will my dad. What mum says goes in our house! [:
i have recently seen your videos. all of them are just amazing. one of my friend give me the link to watch your videos. you are doing a great job indeed. i have started wearing hijab recently(just few mos), i wanted to wear it in a nice way, so my friend suggested to watch your video. i thank to her very much and to you also. i am mother of a year old girl:)) life is very hectic to me. pray for us sister. and thanks so much for helping us. may allah bless you.
wa 'alaikum as-salaam, sister. Aw, a fellow mummy, I bet it's fun to have a little girl! I anticipate my son to be very much into all the boyish things like football etc like his daddy! Anyhoo, thank you for your comment & I'll keep you in my dua's, it sure is hectic with kids!
salam amena, firstly pls ignore my nick as it is my ygr bro's n im lazy to make a new one, so im yasmin n i love the volumnised hijab style but its a tedious process, so i hope tht u can suggest a simpler version or easier one to put on and take off, cause i move ard alot n we need to do our prayers and ablution, so its pretty tedious to go through that every single time..because im so in love with that style..hope u can help me with this, as im also new to hijab =) thanks amena!
Wa 'alaikum as-salaam... an Indian suit or "shalwar kameez" would be good, although the wedding-y ones tend to be quite expensive. You could buy it & re-use it in weddings to come. Or, a "churidaar" would also look nice. Let me know how it goes :o)
i would like to know ur story of how u started to wear hijab and when did u start practising islam, how long has it been? what did u wore on ur wedding day and do u wear sarees/salwar kameez at home/out?
Can show us how to wear a square scarf. I love your videos and I have square scarves which I want to use. Also can you show us some way of wearing 2 tone scarves??

how wonderful would be if we became facebook friends...and i thought of sending you a request about that on youtube then thought it would be rude to do that!
AMAZING...you read my mind, thank you soo much for giving us soo much of your time and experiance and jou through your smile :)
assalaam aleikoum thanks alot for all the tips & advices you give about hijab, it helps me alot since i wore the hijab a few years ago & that im not experienced enough. Anyways, i just wanted to know what kind of hijab wrap do you do when you are exercising or doing any other physical activity? Thank you in advance for answering :)
As-Salamu Alaykum sister, First Thank you so much for your help. Second sorry for the inconviences. My question is,Is it mandatory to wear hijab? Once again thank you.
To me, I follow trusted scholars- one is Hamza Yusuf. - it says in all three holy books- the torah, the bible and the Qu'ran all say to cover your hair out of modesty. So it is up to you, my Sister, if you are new, explore and read more of the Qu'ran and let the folds of islam embrace you like the loving embrace you mother you. This is how I see Islam.
aww this is such a lovely thing you know! m'A you honestly make my day a whole lot brighter when i'm hearing you say things like this, you'r so helpful :) (i dont have any questions btw:P) i just wanted to comment and say how loveeely it is of you Amena :) xxx

Thank you.

Asalaamu Alaykum,
I don't wear a hijab. I would like to but I have a boyfriend. I know Islam does not approve of this. But my question isn't about that, it is about the hijab. We are planning on getting married next year, so would it be better for me to wait until after we are married?
Thank you!

Salaam Sister,
I had a question I had started to wear hijab a little over a year ago, but had to stop because I kept getting a bad rash on my neck and scalp due to the fact that I have had alot of issues with acne. I feel guilty ever since, do you think it would be a bad thing to restart wearing it once in a while? I want to start again InshAllah but I want to start slowly and see how my skin reacts?

could you please tell how we as muslim hijabis can adjust in this society.

How did you come to the decision of when to have your first child? What did you consider? Also when it came to having your second child, it looks as though there appears to be a small age gap between the two...was this on purpose and what pros and cons did you consider when making these decisions?
How has this impacted your work life? Are there times in which (with all due respect) you wished you would have done anything differently?

Salaam!

I'm not a Muslim but I am considering reverting. I love hijab & niqab and the whole feeling of modesty & respect I get when I am dressed as a Muslimah. I have seen you wear tikka's on a number of occasions & I believe them to be a beautiful & modest way to adorn oneself. My question is this: Do you think that I would offend anyone by wearing a tikka or any other kinds of Indian jewelry? I'm a pasty caucasian & don't wish to offend anyone. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
Nekochan57 1 year ago
@Nekochan57 wa 'alaikum as-salaam... I don't see why anyone would be offended by that - I, for one, wouldn't find it offensive in the least. I have a caucasian, non-Muslim friend who wears Indian clothes & jewelry when I do & nobody's ever reacted negatively. As for your reversion, I pray God puts such a deep love for Him in your heart that you do it the moment you read this reply, i'A! Take care & keep in touch!

Thanks

@gibbusoft Wa 'alaikum as-salaam :o) First, I think we have different perspectives on makeup/jewelry; I don't see it as 'glorifying' (sounds rather ostentatious), rather I feel it's a form of beautification. The 5 'pillars' of Islam aside, there are dozens of "lesser" issues within Islam that have dozens of different rulings. The Shari'a isn't a fixed set of rules - it changes depending on context, and many scholars have differences of opinion on many aspects of Islam, from (Part 1 of 2)
Amenakin 1 year ago
(Part 2 of 2) social issues, to family life, to clothing requirements, to beautification. I respect the opinions of all knowledgeable people. However, I am obviously of the opinion that makeup is not "haraam" (forbidden). I won't get into explaining this, as I'm not here making videos to justify my religiosity to judgmental people (not you, but others).
Amenakin 1 year ago
As with any other aspect of your life/faith, if you believe in your heart that it's "wrong" to do something, for instance, use make-up, don't do it - if you feel this way, I wouldn't encourage you to do otherwise.

@zedster3 wa 'alaikum as-salaam, sister. I'm sorry, I'm not sure which online shops sell the ones you've described but I do know there are some (like New Look online) which sell long sleeved t-shirts. Salam Amena,
I am just wondering if you, or any other sister could give me some advice.
BeanOfCoffee 2 years ago
Wa 'alaikum as-salaam, sister. I think if you are afraid of telling them because they are anti-religion, you should drop hints first about your fondness of religion. Perhaps start a conversation about something you saw/read about a religion and express how you liked it. Then, over time, drop hints about your interest in Islam, and then gradually sit them down and explain to them why you're making the decision to become Muslim. In the meantime, remember that you CAN actually begin your (1 of 2)
Amenakin 2 years ago
(2 of 2) life as a Muslim, by declaring your shahada. Why wait, when you can start over now :o) I hope that was helpful, and do let me know how it goes or if you'd like more specific detail in a video. I'm due to make another 'Answers' one soon anyway.
Amenakin 2 years ago
Thanks for the advice Amena, I have been dropping hints for the past few days however my parents are not being very understanding, if I bring up anything to do with religion then I am often shouted at, my parents have also been threatening to stop be from seeing my best friend [she reverted over a year ago] as they think she is a bad influence for me.

As for declaring the shahada, I have not yet done so. I still live with my parents and I feel it would cause a lot of conflict if I were to revert without them knowing.
I think it would be much easier on us all if I were to inform them that I am going to revert before I actually do even if they do not agree.

@BeanOfCoffee How are you, sister - have you tried telling your parents at all?
Amenakin 1 year ago
@Amenakin I'm fantastic, Alhamdulillah. Yes I have told them! :D Though I don't think they are taking me completely seriously. I'm working on that though [: My mum think it's just a phase and told me to come back an discuss it with her when I am 21! I'm certainly not waiting that long. My dad on the other hand just doesn't want to listen, however if my mum doesn't have a problem then neither will my dad. What mum says goes in our house! [:

salam amena, firstly pls ignore my nick as it is my ygr bro's n im lazy to make a new one, so im yasmin n i love the volumnised hijab style but its a tedious process, so i hope tht u can suggest a simpler version or easier one to put on and take off, cause i move ard alot n we need to do our prayers and ablution, so its pretty tedious to go through that every single time..because im so in love with that style..hope u can help me with this, as im also new to hijab =) thanks amena!

Salaam! :) I'm attending an Indian wedding next month inshAllah It's a Lunch occasion... any suggestions as to what should be worn? Shukran :)
nonatjie 2 years ago
Wa 'alaikum as-salaam... an Indian suit or "shalwar kameez" would be good, although the wedding-y ones tend to be quite expensive. You could buy it & re-use it in weddings to come. Or, a "churidaar" would also look nice. Let me know how it goes :o)

Salaams sista,
can u do a tutorial on different ways to wear the square types of scarf...(you know the one you fold into a triangle)
& i just wanted to ask..what ethnic background do you belong to? (if u dont mind me asking)
Also...i just wanted ask for your views about a woman who wears a hijab before her wedding day..but on her wedding day she leaves her fringe out of her wedding shawl which she wraps around her head.
Do you think this is acceptable for a woman who wears the hijab?

As-Salamu Alaykum sister, First Thank you so much for your help. Second sorry for the inconviences. My question is,Is it mandatory to wear hijab? Once again thank you.

To me, I follow trusted scholars- one is Hamza Yusuf. - it says in all three holy books- the torah, the bible and the Qu'ran all say to cover your hair out of modesty. So it is up to you, my Sister, if you are new, explore and read more of the Qu'ran and let the folds of islam embrace you like the loving embrace you mother you. This is how I see Islam.
