  • If you believe the mat story then go to your car and see what it looks like. You have to push the pedle all the way to the floor then if it did get stuck on the mat just hook your foot under it and lift up. This is not the problem its electronics and would be way more expensive to find and fix. They tried to cover up and are getting caught in their lies.

  • it just must be a coincidence the the government owns GM and that they are making a big deal with the media. Reminds me of the twin towers when they needed to get rid of so they imploded. And covered it up with a so called terrorist attack.

  • I mean, first of all, the fuckin part was made by an American manufacturing company!! Its NOT MADE IN JAPAN!!! Its like MADE IN USA!! Damn it!! TOyota has to ask AMerican manufacturing companines to make some of their parts in order to evade trade conflict. But that eventually lead this problem.

  • ho- No it wasn't. The defect is from DENSO out of japan.

  • @hihihohoho007 Idiot. you have no idea what you are talking about, at all. Really, don't speak unless you actually have understanding of the actual event. How embarrassing this must all be to you. The last two months you have had to swallow your pride and realize that Toyota did the EXACT same thing that GM did, grew too fast and screwed up. However this time Toyota one upped GM, they went all out and had the largest and perhaps most dangerous recall in history. Screw you, moron.

  • @hihihohoho007 And your trade agreement stuff has its truths, but that does not at all pertain to quality. In any case, it's a computer problem, as we all now should know.

  • Why is it that only Toyota is being attacked or criticized? What about Ford or the GOVERNMENT'S COMPANY GM? Are their cars all clear? without any kind of accidental problems???????Think about that!!!! When Toyota becomes number 1 in America, suddenly this kind of

national movement that was triggered by the media occurrs!! I feel government's oppression.

  • i honestly don't think the guy who was driving that ES350 did everything he could do...i mean he didn't even try turning off the car? it doesn't make sense to me...

  • If you are an American, BUY AN AMERICAN CAR! Support your own country's industry, your local economy and most of all BE THE SAFEST YOU CAN BE! Stop buying Chinese products!

  • @lanee1967 Please, I'll still buy a Honda Accord over the fugly Chevy Malibu in a heart beat. As for stop buying Chinese products...if you can give up shopping at Walmart, Target, Cosco, BestBuy, etc then good luck.

  • not that smart are you seeing as how Toyota is Japanese and all the models you can afford are made in you backyard here in America. So learn you facts then you gain the rite to bitch.

  • How are u, Toyota & Lexus?

  • I just love how the big name news "FOX,ABC,MSNBC and others" are saying that they have never in history seen a company other than Johnson & Johnson for their Tylenol recall back in 1982, that has stop all production and sales of their products,so they can fix a problem. Toyota will find the problem, fix it and keep on been reliable. "And belive me Chrysler,Ford and GM have had people been killed for their cars having problems" I currently own 2009 DTS. Next year I am thinking of buying a Avalon.

  • Toyota always stand behind their products.

    You know why?

So they don't get run over by their own out-of-control cars.

  • wow the gear shift was stuck in drive too ? and the brakes failed too?? why did the CHIPS guy not know how to shift into "N" oh he did not want to 'blow' the engine

  • to bad most people these days dont know that if you put it in neutral it wont hurt the motor. Almost all new cars that arent a manual drive have a rev limiter that will prevent the motor from letting itself loose

  • Most new cars (if not all) have whats called a "REV LIMITER" within the ignition system of the on-board computer. It's inplace to protect the engine from this very thing, (Over reving). Other wise you would throw a rod, spin a bearing, or float the valve train. But you still don't want to go out and test this anyway, you never know what might happen......................All the same...........throwing it in neutral in this case is about the best you can do at this point..........
