I adopted my kitties from a shelter and I still cannot understand why anyone would ever give my kitties up for adoption. My kitties are sssooooooooo awesome. I eventually stopped wondering where they came from / why someone gave them up and instead

just feel lucky that I found them.

Well, for one thing, yay adoption! Thats how I've gotten all of my dogs and cats. I've had some truly emotional experiences like when I got my collie- he was sick, starved, filthy and they were gonna put him down only a few days later. And he turned out to be the most intelligent, affectionate animal I've ever owned.

And two... I have no idea how anyone could call you ugly. For the record (and at the risk of sounding creepy) I've had a crush on you forever! You're adorable! Ignore the trolls.

I got one of my kittens at a similar event when a local shelter brought a bunch of cats. It was hard to pick one but the one we ended up getting just fell asleep right by me. I agree all cats/dogs/whatever should have homes and people need to learn how happy animals can make them.

I have 3 adopted cats. One is a mama cat whose kittens were killed somehow. When they found her, they took her to the shelter, and over the span of five weeks, she took in two little motherless kittens as her own-- one 3 days and the other 2 weeks. They have lived with my family now for five years and are the sweetest kitties anyone could ask for. Lucy (the mama kitty) does decide that anyone who she lays eyes on is her kitten, though--which means you get groomed, too. :) DFTBA! <3

i have a cat that we rescued but not from a shelter. two women found him under their deck and after about a month a flyers, no one claimed him. so my mom saw the flyer she asked if anyone had claimed him, they said no. when my mom went to go check him out, she saw a dingy house that stank of cigarettes and a little yappy dog had the cat backed into a corner bitting at his face. my mom came home the next day with the cat. he never had to live in a shelter. we have had him 11 years
