@chanmaster5000 When I bought the Complete Composer Collection many years ago, it was around 1500€. You can now find all these VSTs for less than 700€.
@Airek2007 Yes, correct. The Gold edition only contains stage mics (16 bits). The platinum edition has all mics (close, stage, surround - 16 and 24bits).
Hey man, I love your style! Great use of EWQL samples! You should check out this guy Steve Mazzaro on Youtube. He uses QL as well but also WIVI and some Tonehammer stuff. You have a similar style! Keep up the great work!
So, you compose using a different program rather that EWQL? I got EWQLSO Gold recently, and I have /no/ idea where to start to compose. I got it to play notes, but I have no idea how to make a new project. I assume you used something in tangent with EWQL: as in the description, Cubase? I'd love if you could explain this to me. I'm dying to start.
@Sareth740 Yes, to start, you need a host (a digital audio workstation : DAW). EWQL is only a big plugin that need to be loaded in a software. Basically, start a blank project in a DAW, load your plugin, record your music with a midi keyboard or the mouse, work on it to enhance the quality adding effects etc I think I will do a tutorial on this because it's not the first I am asked to explain how to start.
@Sareth740 Yes, Cubase is my favorite DAW. I've tried many softwares like Ableton, Sonar, Reason, Pro Tools. Cubase is for me the best one, the workflow is very good, it's nice to work with it. Very stable and looks professional.

@UDun8 I just wanted to thank you so much for this. I've been looking around and haven't found an actual tutorial or this whatsoever. I would imagine the hooking of the two is relatively easy. I'll try to look at it today when I get home.
Sir i have listened to this track like many times, wanted to comment the best i can, but could not get time, its Fabulous!!!,it gave me an inspiration to compose some epic music and i also like the kind of music u composed, have u learned music seriously or its just a passion ?But apart of all those praises i would suggest you to do a little serious mixing of the track and mastering if possible so the real beauty of your innovation comes out.And if u do, please repost it and inform me..
Thank you very much ! I'm glad to see it can give you an inspiration. Music is a passion for me and I have learnt everything by myself. I have read many books ( harmony, orchestration...), they helped me a lot. I totally agree with you about the mixing/mastering. I know mixing is the key to create a perfect composition but it's sometimes hard to get good results. I'm currently working on to improve my skills and my next song on Youtube will be a symphonic rock/metal piece.
@jazzmatik The actual versions are only Platinum and Platinum Plus. The first one only contains 24bits samples whereas the last contains both 16bits and 24bits samples.
@jazzmatik Oh right on, thanks! Why would someone choose Platinum Plus over Platinum? Both have 24bit samples and Platinum is probably cheaper, unless it is advantageous to have both 24bit and16bit as well.
Cubase 4 is the host (a DAW - Digital Audio Workstation) and cost 500$.
The East West Complete Composer Collection is a pack containing 7 of the best products (orchestra, choirs, piano, percussions...). It costs approximately 1500$.
East West has some great products; I have bought many of them over the years. But they have screwed their user base in a number of ways, myself included. I STRONGLY discourage doing business with this company. Just check out various workstation forums - the digidesign user conference, for example, and you will see a lot of frustrated, angry customers.
The Gold version only contains one mic position instead of 3 in the platinum version. Plus the samples in the Platinum version are available in 16 and 24 bits format.
The content (instruments, articulations...) is the same.
Yeah, the Platinum+, Platinum and Gold version have all the samples available(complete instruments and articulations). The Silver edition has only a part.
Going from silver to gold is a major improvement, you'll see :)
Hey, I have the silver edition, which is pretty amazing sounding, is the platinum + version all the samples from silver, gold & platinum put together? or are they all different samples which you put together?
In fact, the Platinum + version is the Platinum one with 16 and 24 bits samples. Platinum versions have 3 recording micros (hall, stage, close).
The Gold version only has one micro (hall) but the same content (articulations, instruments...).
The Silver Version only has one micro (hall) and less articulations. The most important is that this version is not chromatically sampled. That's mean you don't have a sample for each note. A same sample is modified to play several notes.
cool man!

@UDun8 does it work i mean does the vst work on fl studio cause on utorrent they are only viruses!
ADproduction31 1 year ago
Yes, these librairies are VST plugins so they work on Cubase, FL Studio, Ableton...
But it's better to try legal versions because you'll be sure it's working and up to date.

at 50 seconds what chord prgoression did you use?
Very good by the way!
skaterpunktop3 2 years ago
Thanks !
It's a minor chord progression (Cm scale)
Cm - Ab - Eb - Bb - Fm - Cm
UDun8 2 years ago
Thank you very much! Sometimes i have trouble coming up with chord progressions, and i always wanted an epic one but i dnt think outside of the key
skaterpunktop3 2 years ago
When you want an epic chord progression, it's common to use classic chords (major, minor) but you can add some modulations (scale changes).
Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore often use this trick
