  • AC/CD, Saxxon, Iron Maiden, Motely Crue, Ratt, Ozzy or Black Sabbath, they do it better, fake Cult !, clap your hands baby, clap your hands ! yeah yeah ! hahahahahahahahah

  • Saw them in Boston in '87. Still the best concert I've ever been to.

  • Billy Duffy looks like C.C. Deville in this video.

    Forever Live the Cult.

  • dam

  • first album i bought when i got to college in the fall of '86. Blew my mind!!!

  • Now 43 years old. Thanks to Darren Brown in Ballyclare High School for introducing me to The Cult and The Damned....still listening all those years later.

    Doc

  • Glad the band showed up, even if Ian didn't.

  • @brettfavreify

Ian wasn't very good this night, was he?

  • man they rocked the crowd

  • No way this is 87.......Jamie picked up the guitar later than that.

  • sublime

  • Very cool to see them feature Jamie [the bass player] having a blast playing rhythm guitar! [for tour dates].

  • his lyrics are pretty bad on this one- either too high, drunk, or just needs a studio to sound decent

  • I don't like The Cult in this fm rock era.

  • fucking amazing performance!!! \m/\m/

  • @Alhambrattp TheTruth!

  • So good it hurts!!!

  • 4 people sold their sanctuary for the low low price of 99 cents plus $9.99 shipping and handling

  • how does your face feel ? It just got kicked in it!

  • The best bit was from 0.00-5.23

  • yes

  • This was a great gig, if my memory serves me well Balaam and The Angel were the support.

  • Apparently someone was yelling "SHOW ME YOUR TITS!!!"

  • This would have been one of the best hard rock concerts to be at, The Cult back in their prime, rockin hard!

  • A definite mix of Doors and Steve Hillage !!

  • Fucking hell!

  • wow..i just smoke....? ;-)

  • sick!!

  • Always loved the Cult from day 1. I always felt like they were ahead of the curve musically. They had a distinctive 80's style, but one all their own. And who can argue with that amazing Gretch guitar sound!!!

  • @maxxm28 Yayeh! Agree 100%!

  • It's great to see Jamie Stewart on rythym guitar here......at this pont the band had lost Haggis....Jamie was so cool on guitar

  • @cookamidgera I'm sure that Kid Chaos (aka Haggis) is playing the P Bass and banging his head. He got thrown out along with Les in around March 1988. Ian and Billy made a mistake. They should have stuck with this line. They kicked ass with this line up on the Electric tour.

BTW Kid Chaos is now a medical doctor. I swear to God.

  • Hey kids, I was there and saw them live this very night - didn´t know them before, got infected right away!

80´s seem so far away...The Cult is best Rock ever - no samples, no synths no little girls - just pure live guitar dominated music.

    Keep the spirit!

  • @42strings SPOT ON dawg! KEEF73

  • Seen them LIVE here in Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA in 1987 and it was the best concert I have ever seen....I remember that Guns N Roses opened up for them and they could could not win the crowd over! The Cult Forever!!!!! Later!

  • wow kickass!

  • Rock on the 80's. what a great time for music.

  • Billy Duffy is what its all about! ignore astbury!!

  • that fool is tryin hard. its almost like hes scatting hes so fucked up.

  • The fact that the lead singer is totally wasted makes this performance all the better: A raging and out-of-control train wreck being cheered on by a raving and hopping crowd. Fun stuff.

  • tHIS IS THE THE SONG i HAD IN MY HEAD WHEN I SHOT OBL IN THE HEAD

  • She sells sanctuary ;)

  • Oh what a band. Like this version. Even though it's 'Electric' era Billy hasn't really started dropping power chords into the main rythm riff. Also, if you want your Rock and Roll front men humble and sober then you are at a different party than me.

  • Incredible...totally INCREDIBLE!!!! Rock and Roll at its' finest!!!

  • reminds me of jim morrison, jumping and screaming like that :D

  • Billy is the man!!!!!!!!! but Ian ruined this for me even way back in 87 when i first saw this on telly. . . i just thought he loved himself a little too much, with the shirt off the shoulder routine, , ,plus he missed out half the words just blurring them together. . .but apart from that it was a pretty good gig. . .the crowd were all over the place.

  • Love the mid drift T the rhythm guy is sporting???????

Can't wait for those to come back in style...

  • Ah yes, I too remember the age of the big guitars ...

  • @ChazOMac soo right my friend

  • All you dicklickers that don't like this go check some boy george - these guys lay down a groove and rock the shit out of it ! ! - - check out the crowd , they're fucking bouncing - must have been a riot to be there - Ian sounds a little sauced ............

  • one of my farorite bands ever

  • Einmal Live gesehen . Nie wieder vergessen . Kult eben !!

  • Y'know you're drunk when you look and speak like Tommy Wiseau!

  • fuckin awesome

love-one of the few eigthies albums to still sound great today.....

  • this performance is absolutely terrible!!!

i love the cult but this is bullshit...

  • they seem to be playing a little too fast...

  • Astbury sings like shit here :S

  • one good riff, otherwise shit

  • I wish they would digitaly remaster these performances from the 80's some of the best live rock shows ever.

  • First time I saw the Cult they opened for Billy Idol, I ws blown away, a fan ever since. They were a mess sometimes but the performances were alwasy pure rock and roll, no pussy bullshit. Love these guys.

  • realy rock n roll.very good band

  • ohh fuck playing the bass to this song must be fucking hard

  • Good Stuff

  • Ian described the 1987 tour as 'one big drunk.' Hard to argue after seeing this, it's a ridiculously poor performance. Love the song, hate the drink.

  • @seef0 Lighten up mate.

Best of this tho' is I was there! x

  • @60adl LUCKY!!

  • @seef0 Lighten up mate. This is ROCK N ROLL! Remember?

Best of this tho' is I was there! x

  • @seef0 Lighten up mate. This is ROCK N ROLL! Remember?

Best of this tho' is I was there! x

  • 3 people don't think she sells Sanctuary!!! Idiots!1

  • Love The Cult, but wow- Ian is a drunk?stoned? mess!

He sure fkn looks great though! One hot, sweaty, fkd up guy! (YUM) :)

Billy always plays perfectly even if he's a mess too~! (lol)

  • One of the best...Ian. Billy. Cult. Wannabe Lizard King? Or an apostle? No matter. Rock on, Cult. Check out Sun King live!

  • Not bad for helicopter mechanic of the RAF

  • Genious band.

  • superwonderfulepicness

  • Love this band !!!!!

  • when i kick off this is what i hear in my head

  • @programkill So when you 'kick off' a load of gay looking blokes singing gay songs come into your head ... Uuuummmmm !!!!

  • @baggersal Gay? Hello- Ian has 2 kids. I think you're the gay one to come up with that shit.

  • @WENCHY101 Yeah whatever !!!! Just get on with your boring obscure little life and leave my inbox free of inane crap. In other words ..go and fuck yourself !!!!

  • @baggersal LMAO! You're wrong so now you're all pissy like a little bitch! Too funny!

  • @WENCHY101 Well just because you say I'm wrong ... Doesn't actually make me believe I am .... but anyway .. will you please fuck off and leave me to work in peace. Or are you some sort of mad, ugly, militant lesbian, man hating fuck up ..... I'll just bet you won't let this lie without having the last pointless, ignorant word ....

  • @baggersal Nope! I have to laugh at you once more. You think they're gay...Hello, none of them are gay. You really have some anger issues. Seek help!

  • @WENCHY101 Nope I don't have any anger issues, I don't hate anybody. How do you know none of them are gay ..... You are starting to get a bit repetitive and obsessive about people being gay ... I didn't even call them gay .. i said they were 'gay looking' singing 'gay songs'. You obviously have a problem with 'normal heterosexual men' so again ... go and fuck yourself !!!!!

  • @baggersal Just look at all that anger spouting out of you. Like I posted, seek help!

  • Fucking brilliant!

  • @cinema33 Agree

  • they sound much better in concert with a two guitar line-up. the rhythm line drives much harder with it. great song!

  • who's the other guitarist?

  • @skeleman1963 I think its's jamie stewart their bass player and the one playing bass in this song is the bass player from zodiac mindwarp and the love reaction. I can't remember his name.

  • Great tune, fun to play on guitar

  • Is that CC Deville on the white guitar??

  • awesome even if Ian's voice is ropey

  • bradford innit

  • I'm there 16 rows back!!!

  • @TheOod666 Yeah, i think i see you.

  • some things just never grow old. thank you so much.

  • Played this at the State club in Liverpool! Art deco club with Italian marble pillars ,huge mirrors, dry ice and the first laser to be used the UK......with a kickass sound system, great dj's playing great mix of songs.the club was used by FGTH in the banned version of Relax also the film ' A Letter To Brezhnev' featured a lot of scenes inside the club! Been in clubs all around the world, nowhere comes close!

  • They don't make music this these days. It was a classic then and still is today. Fantastic.....

  • Ian sounds drunk.

  • oh my god ! this is awesome!!!

  • magical

  • Awesome song!!! Best part for me is on 2:17 the bass's D C B G is so Awesome!

  • @cinema33 I put him right up there with Geoff Tate of Queensryche!!!!!!!

  • @cinema33 spot on ....absolutely agree.... class always wins

  • This song was released before the Love album in the UK. It first came out on an EP in the summer of '85 and I think it had about three versions of the same song on it.

  • JIM90290 by far has the best quality of early Cult I believe I've ever seen. Thanks SO MUCH!!!! for giving all of us the chance to see them for their pure power.

    Ottis B. Whackenbush

  • 6Ott7 - if any good song came out today it would be a hit

  • @vortex187vortex187 Have you ever driven on the freeway doing 95 miles an hour at 3 oclock in the morning high as hell on coke jamming this song?? Its Intense!

  • LOVE was a great album but I think Sonic Temple was their best work, every single song on Sonic Temple kicked ass.

  • @sookster54 YOU MAKES ME DISCOVERED THAT I HAVE MY BODY AND I JUST GOTTA F-E-E-L!!!! YEAHH!! POSSESSEDME!!! ..WHEN YOU SELL MY SANCTUARY,,.,...

  • I once owned this on Vinal....man I sure do miss that copy I had....

  • album LOVE (1985)!

  • Thank's man !! csc/10

  • @merishane its on the love album

  • ALL HAIL THE CULT!!!!

  • μιλάμε ρέστα οι δικοί σου ε?

  • thank's 4 this post !!! csc/10

  • Its only bands like the CULT and EARTH CULTURE that kick ass

  • If you like the bands mentioned above You also might like 'Rhythm Corp'. . Real similar sounding band from around that same time period.

  • YAH I THINK IT IS RON WOOD!!! HOLY CRAP

  • wait...is that Ron Wood on 2nd guitar?

  • its Jamie Stewart. he normally played bass, but on this tour and on a few recordings he played rythm guitar.

  • @Kapiwolf123 haha you don't mean THE ronnie wood do you? maybe it's ron jeremie hehehe

  • Off course that is not Ron!

However - cultrox explained it to you (all)..!

  • one of my favourite song of all time!!!!!!

  • fucking awesome song... i've listening this since I was 12.... i´m 29 now.... great song , great band... long life to real rock!!!!

  • CffC

    I love the Cult

    Ian love ian!!!

  • ...or Jesus if he had decided to do the Rock 'n Roll thing rather than the feeding off the 5000 and water into wine thing (no offence Jesus). A Rock 'n Roll Jesus. A Rock 'n Roll Ian.

  • It's like watching Steve Tyler but with a smaller mouth, better music, dancing and trousers (no offence Steve). Awesome. (And the crowd's just going off...)

  • I want that on my gravestone

  • r.i.p nigel

  • Ha. I didn't sign out on You Tube!..."Would You All Take Them as a Front Line in this Rock n Roll if they've found the Most Beautiful Woman as The Embassy. I Am Music. 'she wouldn't SELL sanctuary if she were Fox. Rock's Czar!"

  • what ever happened to Billy Duffy

  • Texas sun?

  • "the heads that turn" not " the texas sun"

  • One of the best driving songs!

  • My intentionally misheard lyric:

and sure as hell youll find

    SANCTUARY!

  • If this song came out today, it would be an even bigger hit.

  • It would get no airplay due to the fact that the corporations that own music rights also own the radio stations. Unless The Cult were signed to one of those corporations, but that would dilute the message.

  • @6Ott7 sure would...i love it.. born -88

  • @6Ott7 So true.

  • @6Ott7 .ESSA BANDA THE CULT MARCOU A ADOLESENCIA DE ANDRÉ P. GARRIDO.

  • @6Ott7 given that most the stuff is shite today, no question it'd be a huge hit, even bigger than in the 80s.

  • @greenfish88 got all thier's from vinyl ..now cd ofc.....and you're right ..with the crp they come out with these days they'd storm it today
