@HaZarDFl00R fraps pretty much halves the FPS when it's running so you'd be looking at 30 or so without on the system that was used at the time (Althon 2800M).
@Quake3Bits That looks like built-in FPS counter. You probably used FRAPS to record the video, but FPS was shown with cl_drawfps 1 (or w/e it is. haven't played in years)
I didn't ask any question. I'm stating that the fraps logo was big and every other screen sprite shows that the resolution is as low as 640x480, so the video card would have to draw less pixels which would then make the game smoother because the video card has to work less.
you know what killasin i have a sapphire 9600xt 256 mb video card and its awsome i can play grand theft auto sanandreas on full res and highest settings and it plays perfect its the perfect card for directx 9 games but on dx10 it struggles with the high graphics.... it even beat my friends geforce 8500 in a graphics test... i dont know though i love it but its your choice dude
The 9600 is a bit long in the tooth now but is good value for older games (as gtastuntcrew said above), but, you'll probably want to spend a few more pennies and get the 7600, just make sure you get a card with full speed BUS and not a throttled one.
The GFX memory BUS speed has *no effect* on the *amount* of memory that's allocated to any given card, it effects **how fast** it's used and accessed.
Ayii caramba!! That is old! I've got a couple of those in storage, hate the idea of just chucking them out because they do still work, can't say the same thing about the modern GFX cards I've had. Built in obsolescence
What was the fps without fraps and with fraps?

@gophop: yes, the FPS counter displayed is the games own.

That looks like an extremely low resolution...

@Terrum: it's called video compression O_o

@Quake3Bits
The fraps logo looks so big though. It looks like you actually played it at 640x480 or something.

@Terrum you need to understand why you're asking that question before you'll get a reply that will answer it.

Why did you waste money on the 512mb ver... the 128bit bus can barely use 256mb...

Where have you got that info from?
Quake3Bits 4 years ago
do you want to have it and not need it or not have it and need it. its the difference between a 3in penis and a 10in. it helps...

not true...

Yes it is... the 128bit bus cant use 512mb properly like a 256bit or 512bit can
