  • If you're gonna post the lyrics, the least you could do is not change and abridge them. "YES I need a little water of love", "now my woman SHE gone", BUT THERE AINT no water here to be found"... ANNOYING.

Madrid Beach west Tlemcen Do it better

  • @pycargue I agree but I think the best time for music was from the early 70's to about 1988.

  • Aahhhh! A little "Water Of Love" to quench my thirst!!

  • Dire Straits' Water of Love is the best?...That's not a clain I'd make....I've always loved the song, since I bought the album way back a few Centuries ago....All their albums have some kick shit on 'em...Trust the Maharishi of Music.

  • entire album is vital ;)

  • still a masterpiece !

  • Mark Knopfler invented the guitar .... at least that mournful, finger-picking wail .... water and love .... vital to life.

  • Wow. This wonderful song sounds so much like it could be a Gerry Rafferty song. I haven't heard it in such a long time.

  • Are claves used to create the initial sound of water drops?

  • @ranjan1sri Yes, exactly.

  • Great music, they're best before getting caught up in mtv attitude. Thanks for reminding me how good this album is.A classic.

  • the dislike is probably a total K nob, not to like Mark K nopler.

  • ma\ daddy gave unto me straits . ford escort 1.6 ghia mark iii , and all the lessons

  • One dislike? Just to be different? What's not to like? Mark is a musical genius and this song proves it.

  • is the slide guitarist mark himself? if it is then man o man, he's divine.

  • This song reflects my deepest inner feelings and needs.

  • Thanks for posting this. What a song; what a band....

  • mark knoffler should be part of the worlds greatest .... love his stlyle of playing

  • @thallow117: I agree with you, thallow, that the whole is definitely greater than the sum of its parts, and it comes off sounding pretty darn good in the end. Mark Knopfler would probably be the first person to admit something like: yeah, I can sing in tune; about an 8 note range on a GOOD day! But the sound of his voice has a real presence. Texture. I like the singers you likened him to and would add Lou Reed on certain songs to that list. Also, I meant "I just USE me own bare 'ands!"

  • hand made Sound... F A N T A S T IC since Centuries

  • sexxxyy

  • Back when they were just a four piece band.

  • love dis song <3

y is it dat tday's music cant b lyk dis??

    ugghhh

  • @nipika0080 And I wonder why today's generation can't type words properly. dys, lyk, dat, and many such replacements just shows how stupid people are who think that spelling that way makes them appear cool. Uggghhhh!

  • @johnlovestohate well,i jus dont lyk typin whole wrds k?

  • @johnlovestohate well,i jus dont lyk typin whole wrds k? uuuuuggghhhh n i try 2 comment nicely n u do this.gt a lyf.

  • Best Strait's song ever!

  • Not much of a voice but, boy, can this cat pick the guitar! Plus, in his own words, "I just me own bare 'ands!"

  • @dansteely77 yeah, but the voice fits the style. somehow like jj cale, tom petty or even henry rollins in their habitats; not really 'singers' but touching. dunno.

  • Oh no way! I forgot about this song! Finally found it

  • I was a senior in High School when this came out. Now those were some good memories with great music

  • Very very good song.

  • Thanks for refresh remembrances.

First "Dire Straits" is so first. That strongl kernel continually fructify, yeah.;)

  • This cassette was worn out on my commutes back and forth to college in the 80's. Yes, I still have the old Bronco. The tape deck took a ride to the dumpster about a month ago.

  • @Dano407 I have had this album in several media cassette CD now Youtube and it's still one of the top. Knopfler is timeless . Been fun watching him mature. He is still awesome. a true artist. and let me guess...you were doin about 85 mph when Sultans of Swing was over. LOL

  • @Dano407

What model was the Bronco? I had a late 60's model and an early 70's. Stick shift on the column and three speed-three on the tree!

Was it a Sparkomatic tape deck?

  • @Dano407 aww sentimental

  • Perfection, Thanks

  • i have ..about a hundred cd collection, and this album tops them all, just a little upset of my copy bec. of sultans of swing version, they cut the end part, shit! it was the part...just like what the radio play, by the way it's made in korea, korean sucks!
