Well for starters, thank the lord, that some wire was between them!!! Because if not, poor budgie, would be missing its head. However there are exceptions to that rule, i have a 15yr old English Budgie, a bit larger than your standard American Keet. And she bullys my Male Cockatiel constantly, always getting the upper hand. I just believe, its in the Keets nature to be aggressive towards other species of birds. But never take this risk, as its often fatal to a smaller bird for sure.....
How are you going to feel when the senegals bites off the budgie's leg with one bite. That is not good birdkeeping and you, the owner will be 100% to blame.
I dont think its sex the senegal wants. I think the senegal wants a nice keet snack. Look at his eyes flashing-- that's a predatory behavior of senegals.
Our senegal hates cockatiels. That's how I know. He gets that same look in his eyes, and then WACK he goes for blood. But never gets it, because its just a picture on a bag.
