I have lived in Detroit, and my life has been effected by several Islamic honor killings. Islam does not share a set of cultural values with the west, at least not in the form it is currently in, as it is interpreted by fundamentalist "scholars". The Jewish culture does share those western values. If that's what I saw in America, I can't imagine how bad Lebanon is since the Muslims took it over. The choice to support Israel is purely cultural, not religious as I am an atheist.
