  • Right at the end. Right there, 1:57. Those scene of Kurt, and the sad look on Butch's face. Like most comments, broke my heart.

  • The "A denial" part stopped my heart.

  • my god. dave's drums sound the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse.

  • wow i really love this song. thats why im in a band right now.

  • dammit this is what i want to do. studio. working with sounds. perfect them..aaaa!!!!! fuk u capitalist world

  • Dude, for the last "A denial," I absolutely LOVE how the one vocal drops out and leaves the other to ring out a bit more! It's like, for the whole song, the vocals sound so mysterious and trippy, but when that one vocal drops out, it's like the illusion is broken and you're left with this raw in-your-face attack that sounds just so amazing!

  • what a great sound.

  • damn the end hits you.

  • kurt has an amazing voice

  • Thank God this band doesn't exist anymore...

  • @puppiesinspace Trollolol

  • @puppiesinspace personally you can take your opinion and shove it up your ASS!!! u prick

  • @puppiesinspace fuck off, i wish they were still together, no offence to Dave Grohl, but i much prefer Nirvana to the Foo Fighters, R.I.P Kurt Cobain

  • the most powerful song ever written.

  • @iseeu1980 (Eye roll) Speak for yourself..

  • @puppiesinspace wonderful troll ;)

  • aah his voice is so emotinal and good, its everything, its like a peace of heaven idk how to explain it, and without the music instruments you can hear it so gooood. Saw this documantairy, every fan: go watch it, its go awsum

  • Butch should release an instrumental of this song.

  • A denial!!?? i never knew what he was saying in the song all these years lmao

  • @BreakingImageFilms I'm curious. What did you think he was singing?

  • @TheFragile89 I think he made them sound too clean, too radio friendly with too many over dubs. Watch the video "smells like teen spirit first performance", I think if Nevermind would have been recorded in a more minimalistic manner and smells like teen spirit was recorded more like the first performance Nevermind would have sounded much better. Nevermind is starting to show its age. Not becuase of the song writing, but because the way it was recorded.

  • the best group for me

  • @TheNactis Yeah, me too.

To alot of people, as well.

  • This is my first time seeing this!Wow!Wow! and Wow!Blows my mind that it's been twenty years since Nevermind was released.

  • if u dont feel the power in this then your spirit is in hibernation

  • 18 dislikes? This is the coolest video. It makes me glad the Internet and You tube was invented. What a treat to hear the song broken down. There should be a sight just for this type of thing..... What a great idea! I think I'll get it patented right now!

  • other dislike justin bieber penis bar

  • 18 people are beyonce and lil wayne fanatics.....fucking jerksss

  • these are great thanks!

  • does anybody have cobain singing the whole song without instruments cuz that was powerful

  • @jefferson - more like FART!

  • @jefferson - ART?

  • I would've have loved to hear Kurt do something with a different band at some point. Maybe something a little less pop grungy. His voice is just as unique as Staleys. Oh well...

  • fucking awesome!!!

  • 17 people are in denial.

  • <333 omgggg!!!! i really wish Kurt was still with us<3 he was amazinggg

  • Getting Emotional Here, Love U Kurt.

  • I like how this humanizes the record. A great example of how the end product is much greater than the sum of its parts.

  • Wow... a little part of me had a heart attack at that last part. Sounds fucking awesome somehow.

  • chills...

  • A DENIAAAAAAL!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK WOW!!!!!!!

  • the "a denial" jus killed me inside.

  • @SoDamnBionic why ? :|

  • @tzvetomir4o cause he's screaming with all his guts and is... i don't know

  • @SoDamnBionic yeah. i got it . thank u

  • @JeffersonToblerone - Yeah. Crazy me. I don't like listening to a whiney voice which sounds more like a cat being tortured that someone singing...

  • September 24th is the 20-year anniversary of Nevermind! There was a time in the early 90s when punk, metal, and "alternative" bands ruled the charts (Nirvana, Metallica, Chili Peppers, Green Day and dozens of others broke into the mainstream). It was the best time to "awaken" to music since the late 60s. I wonder if rock-n-roll will have another epoch or has it all been done?

  • Anybody grab their guitar and start playing along with them

  • 1:03 on, the feedback is a neat focal point.

  • That shit's crazy!!!

  • get along goshhhhhhhhh

  • your nobody til you die

  • here is the real history, with the songs come as you are, and smells like teen sprit,

before they was really discovered, they was playing live, in club in Sheiffied Alabama just across the bidge, the real words writer for Money For Nothing, Cletus Christopher Thornton, wrote the songs words with input from the band, during thier beer break and teens throwing them selves at them, several virgin teens got live that night, Corbin call Thornton just before Corbin died on the day of the death. histry

  • The ending bit of just Cobain's voice gives me chills.

  • Wow! The feedback of the guitar is amzing after the guitar solo

  • I think Butch is amazing and wish I could get him to produce my music. Look at the track record.

  • rozpłakałam sie kurwa

  • @centipeid could you explain why?

  • @centipeid i think nevermind has the highest standard of their 3 albums. i love all the tracks, while the others have their ups and downs. its subjective, saying that he ruined nirvana is your opinion, not a fact

  • someone actually disliked this

  • Pop sucks ! TU ?

  • That was the BEST thing I've ever heard. I can't even compare it to movies in 3D

  • The way Kurt always dragged his voice in the certain key of which ever song they played always sounded godly.

  • oh god what a voice rip Kurt Cobain

  • =O

  • i got shivers when he played kurt singing that last part by himself

  • They should have kept that guitar bit on the third verse, that sounded awesome.

  • This was freaking awesome. Good God, those vocals!

  • this just made me fucking cry ... just hearing his voice like that .....x'(... just resonated within me and came out in a flurry of tears and emphatic emotion ... kurts voice is something i cant express but its like it just exemplified everything he was felt within.. it just overwhelms me with what he was ...... :'(....... *<3*................

  • watch?v=dhEE3799QX0 Hey everyone, we're a band of 15 year olds from Chicago called Ockam's razor and this is our cover of Foo Fighters "No Way Back" please comment!

  • Man, just man, I remember when I first heard this song. I was 11 I guess, and I had just gotten in the car at a strip mall in San Angelo TX, I asked my mom if I could change the station, I tuned the radio until I heard this solo that locked onto my mind like a vice grip, it was like I heard gods voice speaking to me... Still rock Nirvana now and then, thanks for the memories.

  • Interesting to hear the guitar riff during the third verse underneath the feedback, which was removed from the final mix and only present in the first 2 verses even though he always played it during the third verse in live versions.

  • @AnxietyDilemma and u can barely still hear that feedback

  • More famous producers need to start doing this!!! Like George Martin or Quincy Jones!

  • 17 people smells like justin bieber's fans... sad...

  • @FarCry2InAction I can't believe you said that. Are you fucking 12 or something?

  • @playingwithshotguns No im 16 and i just love Nirvana

  • @TheNuzt

I wonder who or what the next big thing will be?

  • just a few records changed music and re dedifined and era . nevermind was the last one to did it . .

  • i know someone that has some old session files of Nirvana and you can hear kirk say fuck before the end and he caughs half wy threw the song i thought it was kool

  • @boby485 Can you please take an english class?

  • @leonard71 okay boss

  • Hearing Cobain singing "A denial" without any instruments just stopped my heart!

  • From which year is this?

  • Where is this from ? Is it possible to buy somewhere ?

  • @19Skanking82 It's from the "Classic Albums" series. It's a dvd.

  • OK, settle down and enjoy the video everyone. No one was comparing Kurt Cobain to Justin Bieber, and if they were...they'll be burning in hell. Enjoy the video.

  • DEAR ALL ROCK AND NIRVANA FANS, FEBRUARY 20TH IS KURT COBAIN'S BIRTHDAY. THAT DAY WE WILL ALL VISIT THE "SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT" VIDEO, LIKE IT, AND WISH HIM A HAPPY BIRTHDAY. NOT ONLY WILL IT PAY BACK RESPECT TO HIM, IT WILL ALSO HELP NIRVANA GET TO THE TOP OF YOUTUBE AGAIN. THUMBS UP THIS COMMENT AND REPOST THIS ON ANY NIRVANA OR ANY ROCK VIDEO

  • @metalcoolik How about no? Kurt is not in this stupid life we call a good life. Kurt is probably relieved he isn't here.

  • @FASSY524 my dear friend, have you red what I have written? actually I'm not quite sure that he wouldn't be happy to be here, in fact, I am sure that he would willingly have spent some more time with his daughter, apart from that, not only for paying back respect to him, but also to show gratitude for all the beautiful songs he wrote, wishing him happy birthday just as he were still among us, rocking with us, hoping with us for a better life. So how about yes? don't do it if you don't want to

  • Butch Vig is a genius, I love garbage too.

  • Lool pretty powerfull XD

And he says that about the most powerfull song of the last decades :')

  • foo fighters suck ass compared to nirvana

  • I love Kurt's face at 2:21 xD

  • Said it before and I'll say it again. We lost Cobain and Lennon, and are stuck with Love and Ono... It's just not fair.

  • @corebare WTF is wrong with you how the fuck do u think kurt cobain or john lennon would react to the most disrespectful, stupid and ignorant comments about their wifes retards !?

  • @Floragramp - Gosh, I don't know. But maybe they would talk about how you're such a hypocrite in telling me what a jerk I am, when YOU can't even complete one coherent sentence without fucking it up. Ever heard of a peroid? Or a paragraph? Maybe you should go back and try and pass 8th grade English before you try and ask what "is wrong" with someone who went to college......

  • @corebare I'm 14 yr old , I'm not english, and I'm not a hypocrite, I don't know them, so i don't speak about them - simple

About Kurt and Lennon don't miss them enjoy them - very simple

and YES YOU ARE A BIG JERK, I may be awful in English but at least i don't use it in a way very disrespectful to two of the coolest persons who ever walked in this world

Maybe i cant' finish a sentence correctly but at least I respect and I don't talk like the others were nothing They loved love n' ono PERIOD

  • @corebare @Floragramp has made a point. and you couldn't argue with what he said.

  • @LuisRamirez666 - The distraction ill-will Ono created by her presense is well known and has been written about enlessly. The cancer that Love was to the band Nirvana has been written and documented since his death. Do I really need to make an argument? Just read what Dave and Chris thought of Courtney Love (among others) about how she treated and influenced Kurt negatively. - And what has her behavior been since he "killed himself?" Whatever. Draw your own conclusions.

  • @corebare But still. you speak of these persons like you know them in real life.

  • @LuisRamirez666 - *sigh*

  • @LuisRamirez666 - I don't argue with 14 year old children. It's a waste of my time...

  • @corebare That is just so sad but true

  • @corebare you right. Cobain work's is amazing! All others now suckers!

  • @corebare at least we have grohl and paul mccartney.. god.. why is everyone so negative ALL OF THE TIME?

  • @Theshamham Because Wings will never have that beatles feeling and foo fighters will never feel look or sound like nirvana don't get me wrong their good bands but the beatles and nirvana were the highlights of their musical careers

  • @Theboss212122 Thats actually completely wrong.. you must not know anything if you're saying that. You're looking at very skilled musicians as pieces of a band and not the independent and multi-instrumental geniuses that they are. Learn you're shit before you talk to me, cause from what you just said, you should like you know literally nothing and are wrong about everything (which is probably true, lol!)

  • @corebare so true...perfect example of how life can slap us across our collective face.

  • @corebare Whats wrong with Ono? Not too fond of her music but I wouldn't condemn her to die because her husband was a better musician. Don't give a fuck about Love though.

  • @klm4298 - What's wrong with Ono? I'm tired of listing the reasons. Why dont you ask the 261 people that gave me a thumbs up and ask them.....

  • @klm4298 - What's wrong with Ono? Gee, I don't know. Ask the 262 people who agreed with me.

  • que bestia de sooooloooo!!!!!! carajoo! puff arriba el grunge !

  • That dude is the luckiest guy on earth, i mean, he has the master recording of smells like teen spirit and he can listen to kurt's raw voice over and over again. phew!.

  • It's a shame they pulled the feedback back in the mix, it's really complementary.

  • ladim jaajaaa !!

  • amazing :D i can almost cry...

  • It's incredible to hear Kurt's raw voice... what a powerful sound, to hear him almost literally rending his vocal chords for the sake of belting his soul to the world.

  • omg was there ever a version out when it's just Kurt Singing and no instruments ? that would be amazing :D

  • People say Nirvana were overrated, I couldn't disagree more.

  • I hope he makes the Foo Fighter's new album as astounding and perfect as he made Nevermind.

  • M A E S T R O ....Ms Butch

  • you headbanging beast ! xD

  • gave me chills

  • @coot1893 me too, too powerful and intense, such a terrible lost :(

  • the master piece! eveer!!

  • Woooaow, wonderful !!!

  • God, I love just listening to the Guitar Solo~ AMAZING!

  • I hate to say this, because I absolutely love Kurt Cobain.........but where would Nirvana be today if he hadn't died? Would they be recording and touring? Or would Kurt be a judge on some shit like American Idol? Oh well........whatever........nevermind

  • @theedgeinshow Kurt was going to quit the music industry right before he died. He wrote a note to his fans explaining why he was quitting. So he certainly wouldn't be selling out and washed up.

  • @theedgeinshow I like to think they'd still be going, going good too. Kurt would have Dave's songwriting to back him up, if he started to slow down. Also, the last song they recorded was "You Know You're Right", so it didn't sound like Kurt was drying up in his songwriting. But he was always going to do it, people knew from when he was a child that he wasn't "normal".

  • do you know how to keep only vocals like he does in the video?

  • @IAMNOTAGOODCHILD its called soloing the channel/track

  • @IAMNOTAGOODCHILD

You need a real fancy tape deck

  • this album should have been recorded by Steve Albini

  • that's so crazy when he drops out the rest of the song but one part and all that

  • the solo and his voice jesus christ its brutal xD

  • i think it needs to be more sloppy and grungy and un professional

  • @iGrizzliestBear we don't mention that name anymore

  • @iGrizzliestBear DON'T EVEN put justin bieber in the same sentence with mr Cobain please.we all wish he was still here..but we got his music and philosofy...don't mix the King of grunge and one of the most important leyends of ROCK MUSIC with that buble gum baby justin bieber

  • @Davidasperger86

Yeah, I understand you. I just wish there was a possible trade that could go down.

Also, while telling me not to have the 2 names in the same sentence, you put them both in the same sentence as well. Just pointing that out.

  • @iGrizzliestBear YEAH I DID SO DON'T SPREAD THE DISEASE

  • @iGrizzliestBear I can see where your coming from man but Kurt's been dead 16 and a half years now man. Music has changed so much he wouldnt be able to fit in anymore, and he'd probably shoot himself again if he heard the radio.

    RIP Kurt

    You are sorely missed

  • @iGrizzliestBear DON'T EVER COMPARE KURT COBAIN TO THE LITTLE FUCKER!!!! YOU RUINED THIS WHOLE VIDEO!!! I bet you secretly love Justin the FUCKIN Beaver bitch. Kurt Cobain will now haunt your house and shoot you with the gun the killed him.

  • @FASSY524 Me comparing Cobain with Beiber? Now that is ludicrous! I'm talking about wishing there was a way that Cobain could be here today helping this music generation become better than the crap BS that's being made today with Beiber and other various crappy artist.

Also, getting shot by Cobain's ghost is better than being alive and listening to today's crap. At least I'd be taken out by a REAL musician!

  • @iGrizzliestBear me to but lets be real... who would take that trade??

  • Such anger and feeling

  • Good drum sound, that's all.

  • PURE MAGIC!

  • ive got this DVD

  • Nah, they shouldn't have anything, the entire take is a blast. "They" should have kept Kurt from killing himself and kept him off the poison I know damn' well......as well...

I understand your comments but hey, it's f*****g awesome right?!

  • Is this all on one dvd I can buy.....

  • his voice is awesome, even without the guitar

  • love to see those curiosities about nirvana

  • ohhh... fucking love it

  • Wasn't this recorded at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys right neat the Budwieser Plant?

  • @electrodud yes it was

  • love it

  • They didn't even keep Butch Vig's mix for the album - right?

  • Everyband in the last 10 years needs to watch and take notes from these videos.

This is how real music with real feeling and depth is made.
