  • Great aircraft often under rated. I remember seeing the BBC coverage of them landing on their motorway/highway - impressive.

  • The Swiss evaluation report about the gripen:

    h t t p : / / files.newsnetz.ch/upload//1/2/12332.pdf

  • @hderoz

  • Wheres the dog fight?

  • * Swiss to buy 22 JAS-39 Gripen

    * Gripen the cheapest option among bidders

    * Critics slammed Gripen for poor performance in tests

The humanitarian bombings on Libya were Sweden's first operational experience, basically they went there to try and sell their trash, which at they moment they can only lease.Amongst the operating pilots in Libya Gripen was the daily joke.

  • @anaspapas.Doubt it!

Yeah thats why Gripen could gather intelligence much quicker than the others?

    Its all about politics stupid.

  • can a 39 grippen shoot down a f-16 block 50?

  • @azulgrana13 As nothing has been tested on that, this isn't accurate information but if both have high-end pilots, then yes, quite easily.

  • @azulgrana13

    Especially if the Gripen NG

    Especialmente si el Gripen NG

  • @azulgrana13 absolutely.

  • and yeah sure, United states would win over sweden in air battle, but the only reason for that is cus their army is 100 times bigger then ours but if we went to war against united states and recruited every single capable swedish human for the army, we would give them a hell i can asure you.

  • both wants the stealth submarine, we gave them gustav atleast^^ i think its good we keep our genius military secrets then sell it to a another country ? why should we, we came up with it its ours, you can make a copy but it wont be same as ours not on a long way

  • haha you kidding ? no one licks United states asses, usa just believe so, first of all jas gripen is not a copy of eurofighter typhoon, jas gripen was designed before the eurofighter so eurofighter is a copy of jas gripen, like everthing else they copy from sweden, sweden got the best military gear in the world, Usa is just pissed that we didnt give them the stealth submarine that we are the only ones with in the world and we refused to give the design/secret to united states, and russia

  • "Grippen" What is that? It's Gripen. Even the Swedish pilot pronounces the name wrong. It's Gripen (pronounced roughly as it was spelled Greepen) in any language.

  • The pilot is the best, but display is not good.

  • this is not true. sweden dont want to sell. They do the best so their american friends get all the money. Sweden is filled with socialist filth and american propeople not doing their best just taking in filth and getting rid of all the tech and money so they can get in as much filthy foreigners as possible into sweden. Sweden has been taken over by athoroties being worse than shit. sweden has become the filth of the filth. We caould have been the richest land in the world!

  • @Rapeattack One of the best comment i´ve seen for ages! Thumbs up!

  • 0:07 defenition of HAI THAR lol

  • copy of eurofighters !

  • @TheChironexxxx actually the Gripen was designed before the Eurofighter so that would make the eurofighter a copy of this.

  • @TheChironexxxx u mad gripen was made before eurofighter

  • @TheChironexxxx Haha you sir are retarded, Eurofigher is a copy of gripen :)

  • @TheChironexxxx The Jas 39 had its first testflight in 1988, the eurofighter in 1994, so its more likely that the typhoon is an copycat! The jas 39 was developed much earlier than the eurofighter.

  • GREAT AIRCRAFT. I WAS FORTUNATE TO SEE IT IN ACTION RECENTLY AT AN AIR SHOW IN SOUTH AFRICA BY THE SA DEFENCE FORCE. REAL NICE PIECE OF MACHINERY.

  • Why is it that when someone puts up a video of something they are proud of like the Grippen, Americans just can't resist slagging it down? The Grippen is an astonishing piece of kit that I am sure has really shocked the US military in Red Flag exercises. They really have no idea about the real world in which they live, just fantasies! The Buccaneer which by even the standards of the time was not that good but it sure shocked the hell out of the yanks when it was in British hands. Untouchable!

  • AND WHERE IS THE FIGHT !

  • HMAS rather, not HMS

  • Snow makes you smarter ppl! EAT IT!

  • @Nunk0 Make sure it´s not yellow! :)

  • @purplepimpernel are economy isnt a result from war, its a result from greedy people and banks trying to make money and all other kinds of political stuff. to be honest i say keep making the best military equipment. i know if i went to war or knew some that did i'd want them to have the best gear to be safe and have an advantage, wouldn't you? we arnt making this stuff to go to war, we're making it so that when we do, we have the advantage and feel a little more safe in combat.

  • Wish there was a camera on the nose! Fuck the yanks! Most if not all their technology comes from some other country! Their educational system rates equal to 3rd world countries! FACT! How does one create if they don't know what and how to do it! Easier buying from someone else and just sqeeze the trigger instead!

  • Why does some dickhead american always need to pipe up about someone elses military when its shown here.

Perfect example here, some guy saying the plane is nice but the US would win in a war vs sweeden.

Who gives a fuck? The two countries are as likely to go to war as monkeys are to fly out of your arse.

    Fucking get over yourselves.

  • ITS CALLED GRIPEN NOT GRIPPEN!

  • YES !!! pure speculation for the novice out there. remember, your going too be flying against the best fighter pilots in the world, ( " TOP-GUN " ) bar-none !!! over a 120-miles from the Carrier !!! While fighting your way throw a " heart-stopping " Carrier Battle Strike Group's ' Air-Surface- Subsurface-Space ' defense network, which by the way, as we write, is at sea conducting battle exercises, just for this very situation & event !!! time and resources, heart & skill are not on your side.

  • @MrJeffreydunson We need to get out of the war making business. The only enemies we have are the ones we've made for ourselves. The country has been bankrupted by fools who can only say fight(for Israel). We have 2 very large oceans and the Arctic sea to protect us. What country needs these things? The are only for aggression. The USSR went down without a shot. No body tried to take advantage of USSR except for the US. They asked help in disposal of lots of nuclear waste. Didn't get any.

  • @purplepimpernel Yes, it would be better for the US to use all of the funds, that it spends on the military for other matters -- the world isn't all that safe, so it needs a policeman to help keep things in good order.

  • @purplepimpernel UNFORTUNATELY FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE , YOU HAVE IDIOTS RUNNING YOUR COUNTRY. YOUR COUNTRY IS GOING TO GO DOWN , JUST LIKE THE USSR. YOUR PEOPLE ARE DYING FOR ISRAEL.

  • GRIPPEN...(sic)

  • @leonwiganer

thats where you are wrong.BEA bought there way in. JAS is a complete swedish design

  • why get a eurofighter if you cant even keep up with the cost of maintenance , spain, italy, germany and england should had bought a bunch of gripens instead

  • It's called Gripen, not "Grippen" (English = griffin).

  • Sweden kicks ass!

  • Swden kicks ass! Love from Holland.

  • han är grymmm såm fan

  • thank u sweden for your wonderfull Saab JAS 39 Gripen

    greetings from south africa!

  • whats the stall speed?

  • incredible, holland dint buy the Gripen, only for commercial reasons choose JSF.. which already is a doomed project

respect for the swedes & their top engineering!

  • The Thai Navy are trying to get their hands on second hands subs! Why don't u show it to them?

  • Nice video, Gripen is beautiful aircraft wih excelent performance.

Our pilots have won with them prize SILVER TIGER in NATO tiger meeting 2010.

    Greetings from Czech Republic

  • It is remarkable how a nation of just 9 million people can make such fantastic military equipment. For you hater, Sweden makes the Gotland class sub, the quietist submarine in service today. The US NAVY leased the Gotland and crew for 2 full years, trying to figure out how to detect it. It sank the US Carriers in all the simulated war games without ever being detected. Go Sverige! And Hail Pippi Langstrump

  • @speedseduction Theres no point in getting this tech if you cant profit from it. Otherwise the nation of just 9 million people will pay for something too expensive.......

  • @speedseduction I think because they have never had a war fought on their soil. They have been immune from two world wars. They also are a homogeneous population but that wont be for long. Also they have a stable political system and low rates of corruption.

My hats off to their industrial and social accomplishments. Hopefully they can keep it up. But we have seen Volvo sold to the Chinese and Saab barely survive. Perhaps they are starting to lose their edge.

  • @capmarvelous Don´t be ignorant! We have fought many wars on our soil.

The parts of Volvo and SAAB being sold are only the automotive parts wich was already owned by GM and Ford. These companies have nothing in common with the "real" SAAB and Volvo other then the name.

Volvo makes trucks and construction equipment and is alot larger then the car company .

SAAB builds millitary technology and airplanes and is also larger then the car building company.

  • @bengtsson45

Well I am not ignorant just opening up a point of discussion. IT appears that the Grippen has a high level of US electronics, weaponry, and the GE F414 engine, which combine for one-third of the entire aircraft. This is from Wiki. So GM owned SAAB and it appears the technology transfer from the US is present in the SAAB designed Gripen also. So is the Grippen just like the SAAB car, a Swedish frame with all the key components of US design hmm. How remarkable is the Swedish Lion?

  • @capmarvelous

Read up plix, Gripen was developed long before SAAB became GM owned, and GM didnt buy the whole SAAB group, only SAAB automobiles, the rest is still owned and placed in sweden.

    saabgroup[dot]com/en/Air/

  • @bengtsson45

Is that why the Swedes are pursuing Assange. Is it because the US has told them unless you get him for us we will withold parts that make your planes fly. Is it because their industries are totally reliant on our technology? Unfortunately for Sweden it is a small country in a world of big players and it does not have the means to pursue a R&D budget to hang with the big boys. So kid you can come to the fight and watch our dogfights but dont get hurt ;)

  • @capmarvelous Assange is wanted for rape, we don´t charge him for anything in regards to wikileaks.

We buy our flight control systems from the US but your claim that our industries are " totally reliant on our technology" and that we have not fought a single war on our soil is ridiculous and downright insulting.

"So kid you can come to the fight and watch our dogfights but dont get hurt " Tell that to the JAS-39 Gripen pilots who kicked the asses of the USAF in Red flag.

  • @bengtsson45

:D Hahah I was just having some fun. No I respect the accomplishments of Sweden and their subs too. Unfortunately they are really cutting back on their defense. Maybe a good thing to put the money into would be nuclear weapons. That is the ultimate deterrent. If you absolutely positively have to have only one weapon that would be it. So no offense I was just playine ;)

  • @speedseduction the germans make the quietest subs

  • @Zagorec82 I don't know about that. The Gotland and that german submarine you're most likely talking about seemed to be just as quiet. If there was any difference, it wasn't enough for me to notice it.

  • @speedseduction That's cool. But the US would win anyway against Sweden.

  • @speedseduction You can damage a SuperCarrier, but not sink it ~ reason being it's too well built and it is designed to take battle damage !!!

  • @MrJeffreydunson actually you CAN sink a super carrier. No one has done it yet that's why its just speculation. ALL SHIPS sink no matter how big they are as long as you know where to hit and HOW to hit and how many times you need to hit.

  • @mindsoulbody The Russians brought to mind several years ago about the Mosquito or Sunburn 2 stage cruise missile & supposedly just a few feet off the surface of sea. The statement was made that only the kenetic force of an empty cruise missile would punch a hole thru a carrier. So it brings to mind how kenetic weapons with no explosives could be as useful as missiles with warheads. I expect that they would cheaper to build & operate.

  • @purplepimpernel i agree.

  • @speedseduction I think you're nazi,and talking shit against Usa,when you're living there yourself.Grown up/Sweden

  • @speedseduction It's not an accident. It's about getting off your fatasses and go to school!

  • @speedseduction yer the gotland subs suck australia bught six of them and they hardly ever work max dive depth 150 meters ( it was a aussie navy crew that sank the aircraft carrer in the sim war ) australia should have bought the german 214 sub a least when a german design something it will bloody well works and australia is going to make the same mistake by buying the F35 . maybe we should send u back ur crap subs and swap them for the grippen cant be any worst.

  • @OXYOXYOXY444 We have 6 Collins class subs and the Collins was used in the excersize youre talking about. It was HMS Rankin. I know because a friend of mine calls that particular boat home. I'm almost certain we dont have any Gotland class. We should have, theyre a great boat but we dont. Think you might have mixed the names up there mate.

  • @OXYOXYOXY444 /watch?v=nqFVOL7mLd4 is a story about it if you're interested.

  • @OXYOXYOXY444 love to here that you love our subs!hahaha you where the first line of development and after your money gave us the opportunity to develop the best sub by far we love you. Anyway you didnt accept our own people coming and doing the solutions. We and you didnt used our best opportunities to make our communication the best.

  • @Rapeattack It made your situation much worse. a little your own fault. You also got a high classified propeller that you gave away against all what you have signed under with swedish athoroties and companies. You arent to be trusted!

  • They sure do....don't forget the stealth destroyers and battleships 'Smyge', 'Visby' and 'Harnosand' also. I believe our US Navy still have ways go to before stealth vessels. Finally, remember that the fighter you see in this video don't need a runway. It lands on any fairly straight strip of country road. And they're prepared for it too, fueling station, missile storage, everything, along the roads. Don't mess with these people, they've got their act together.

  • @kenth0120 The Visby class ships are corvettes, we haven't had destroyers since the 80's. And unfortunately they won't be receiving any anti air missiles, we were supposed to buy South African Umkhonto surface to air missiles but theres no money for it so they'll have to rely on their 57mm guns for air defense. The fact is that they haven't even been equipped with anti ship missiles yet. Not much use for stealth ships when they have to get close enough to use the gun.

  • @kenth0120

I'm sorry to say, but those bases is not there anymore. During the 90's and 00's cutbacks they where sold or destroyed togheter with almost all nuclear bomb safe hangars.

  • @kenth0120 Indeed, in tons of places on swedish roads it just gets wider for a while for no apparent reason. Landing strips all over the place.

  • @kenth0120

Ive always tried to tell people neutral nations are the most prepared, look up what the Swiss had during the cold war, they were more prepared than the Us and Russia!

  • @speedseduction I´m sorry to say but the quietest submarine in service isn´t the Gotland class it´s the the German Type 212 class.

  • @Sturmfalke010475 The German and Swedish submarine builders cooperate and have more or less the same system in silent subs, the big ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems. And there is and even newer and more quiet submarine on the way, the "A26"

  • @GeneralMcCudden actually the royal marines help train the US marines and the legion well they do theri own thing really and being in 3 wars in the last 20 years is good?

    how does that one work?

  • I´m mostly for a world where nobody would have to fight :)

  • Gripen still symbolizes a sad thing; that nations need to manufacture extremely expensive weapons to defend territory. The main application is likely still surveillance. One plane can do little total damage to the enemy and is extremely vulnerable.

  • @gunnarMyTube nice, i see that you have been reading alot about this plane -_-' Gripen is one of the most cost efficient figthers in the world...

  • @HiconPicon wrong gripen IS the most cost effective plane in the world :)

  • @HiconPicon Expect that it falls out of sky

  • @ohaiguyzz Tell me about a jet fighter that never have had any crashes.

  • @HiconPicon I'm just pointing out that it falls out of the sky for no reason :)

  • @ohaiguyzz "no reason" You just made a fool of your self

  • @HiconPicon I'm sorry. Computer and engine failures+Piloting failure, that ain't really a surprise when it's about swedish "military" (girl scouts as some Swede said to me sometime"

  • @ohaiguyzz your friends sure seem to know alot about swedens army. -_-' The only problem Gripen have had is the fbw that broke down in testing phase.

  • @HiconPicon :D, well most of swedish people i've met refer it as girl scouts

  • @HiconPicon :D, well most of swedish people i've met refer it as girl scouts

  • @ohaiguyzz 1-2 people?

  • @HiconPicon Like 4-5 and i've met like 6 :) pretty much 80%ish i guess :)

  • @ohaiguyzz And in what way were the swedish army girl scouts?

  • @HiconPicon Dunno, they just said it sucks and its more like girl scouts

  • @ohaiguyzz Swedish army does not suck lol. they beat the american army " THE BEST AMRY IN THE WORLD!" in airforce and navy in training missions for example Red Flag

  • @HiconPicon You don't believe that even yourself. Sweden including most of Europe are licking USA's ass. Their economic and stuff affect ours so much. You do everything USA tells you to, otherwise you're screwed. Your army cannot match em. Just look at this, USA goes all rambo and attacks Iraq and Afganistan, and sometime from that you and us are there as well being "peacekeepers".

  • @ohaiguyzz 3 words: look it up.

USA seem to think they are some kind of global police. and maybe you dont know most of the european countries also are in afghanistan and Iraq mostly just to clean up after you or to help the people that needs it. Not to sloughter innocent people. You obviously dont know a thing about European millitary technology or participation. Go back to your fantasies and keep living in your "all mighty, perfect" USA.

Also you just said our economy affect yours, meaning win?

  • @HiconPicon I'm not living in USA nor I would like to. I'm just saying that we're all it's bitches following every step, but we SHOULD NOT. All nordic countrys are bland in politics and the most neutral countries because if we do something, it's either racist to some middle eastern countrys or USA doesn't like it, means we can't do shit. If USA asks a permission to move troops by your airspace you can't refuse it.

  • @ohaiguyzz Why would they want to do that anyway?

  • @HiconPicon For example, when USA invaded Afganistan, they had to fly through Finland (since the earth is round it's the most direct route). They had to have our permission to use our airspace, which we didn't really have a choice whether not to give it or give it.

    We're all USA's/EU's/NATO's bitches

  • @ohaiguyzz If you say it, it must be true.

  • @HiconPicon I know, i know. it's not like im supporting the herpa derpa americunts

  • @gunnarMyTube how about ONE bomber plane dropping a nuke , damage enough for you ?

  • cool video!

  • Grippen? lol

  • Risken är att den förväxlas med ett radiostyrt plan.

  • Sweden is the second most weapon exporting contry in the world

  • @yamahaevo

Hahahahaha. No. Go read a book man.

  • @Forsnacke Are you stupid? Don't say things you don't know. Make a serch on google moron.

  • @yamahaevo Just how fucking retarded are you?

The US, England, France, Germany, Canada and China way outdoes us in military industry and exportation. Sweden's got nine (9) million people, go figure.

  • @Forsnacke /watch?v=aKYQit9mBTY

  • @yamahaevo

    Hahahahahaha.

We sell alot of guns 'Per Capita'. That's just because there's literally nobody living here.

You actually ARE retarded, and you posted a link proving it.

  • @Forsnacke Shut up im a american

  • @yamahaevo

Oh, im sorry, i didnt know. :D

  • @yamahaevo lol we do not sell alot of weapon... we dont sell any small arms at all we make and sell Different anti tank Equipment ( At4 and Pansarskott Karl Gustav)

armored Personell Carriers we have sold less then 40 gripens (its the best Aircraft in military action today) and yet countries buy american and russian aircarfts for the same money that cant do what the Gripen can

  • @yamahaevo No Russia is the second

  • @GeneralMcCudden And what i mean by "better" training is a longer training. You know everything it seems *cough* so how long is a US Army soldier trained? Marines? Rangers? How long before they are put into battle?

  • @GeneralMcCudden Cmon now, you gotta be kidding me? Best training in the world? You should learn from the Brittish, they have the best training in the world. Almost every NATO country got better training then you.

  • @GeneralMcCudden No mather how you looked at it, those soldiers did not show a very good example of dicipline. Although its a video of a couple of soldiers when you got several hundred thousand there so i wouldnt say it represent your armed forces as a whole. The Nimitz is indeed a very impressive carrier. I hope you are aware that over 1 million (USA rep. says 300.000) Iraqi civilians were killed? and you managed to kill 20.000 insurgents? thats a not war, its genocide.

  • @GeneralMcCudden You are right about the german part, but they didnt "prefer" Blitzkrieg tactics, they invented it and they defeated the largest army in europe with it, amongst many other armies. You haven't lost much and thats good, i don't want your soldiers to die. Sweden and USA also has war games, in our latest one our stealth submarine took out a really advanced ship, in simulation. So one of them is being rented out to you so you can create your own.

  • @GeneralMcCudden You sure must watch alot of american cold war propaganda stuff. Most powerfull military on the planet? In numbers? no. In training? no. In experience? no. In accomplished objectives? no. In technology? yes. So you base that on having high tech, thats funny. Your economy is on a self destructive course if you don't find a solution for the national debt. The most powerful country on earth sure haven't accomplished much dumpkopf.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Really? You are aware of the 4 year plan set in action 1936 to build up resources for the war? That lasted up until 1944 with war on 3 fronts against most of the world? East/West and Africa/Italy Fronts. They were well prepared for the war but the supplies had trouble to reach the eastern front due to muddy/snowy rouds where the supply trucks and even tanks got stuck. If he wouldn't violate Germany/Soviets non-aggresion pact Europe would be nazi germany now most likely.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Nationalism is the way of Russia/China and former Third Reicht and USSR. With nationalism i mean that you will support any positive lie concerning your country and denounce any negative fact. I do know for a fact that you will deny this, as would any other nationalist. I also think you already know this, or you have been brainwashed to believe everything you claim. You do not admit 1 single fault in your country, and every country got problems with no exceptions. Grow up man.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Yeah whatever, talking to you is like talking to a brick wall. The Third Reicht was a excellent economy and military, did they win? were they a good country? are you a good country, really think about it? and iam not comparing you with WW2 Germany just a example. anyhow im not going to bother talking to a american nationalist anymore, keep telling yourself that your better then everyone and i just pray to god you won't be proven wrong in a war.

  • @GeneralMcCudden And don't tell me Russia isnt powerfull, i live a few 100 km from their border. Don't pretend that you know everything about them when you are on the other side of the world. I don't like Russia, China, USA, GB, Middle-East countries, France, Germany (Yes), Swedens old imperial history, Italy and more. I can give you a reason for each one too. And in all cases, i have nothing against the people itself. Only the political ways of their leaders or former leaders.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Yes the top countries in the world right now is USA, China and Russia. You call me a kid when according to your profile im older then you and you insult me. That prooves that you are the kid. Did i say Germany accomplish anything? They have only existed the last 20 years as a independant nation. And i can see that you are educated, but you sure have a USA aligned view of everything while i try to keep a neutral one.

  • @GeneralMcCudden What difference does it make what country iam from? Iam originally from Germany if you have to know. Iam not trying to degrade the US, iam trying to make you realise that you didnt invent everything, accomplish everything and most of all you dont CONTROL everything. Tell me why you didn't help your precious friend Georgia when Russia invaded? Their president begged for US help. And no, USA supplied vital supplies and manpower for D-Day so it might not have happened without you.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Including Jet Aircraft, Missiles, Assault Rifles, Nuclear Bombs, Smart Bombs they are all captured GERMAN tech that you gained after winning the war, or when Einstein defected to you.

  • @GeneralMcCudden You are a god damn nationalist to the fullest extent. I actually can admit that countries have something good in them, or bad. You obviously can't. Western Europe has top modern equipment in every branch of the military. You think you are the only ones with stealth capabilities? We swedes invented the Stealth Cruiser and Stealth Submarine. Your AT-4 launcher is swedish designed. Your M249 is made in Belgium, most of your modern military tech is captured and improved German tech.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Omaha Beach was the deadliest becouse of the fact that the naval bombardment and air bombings had totally missed the bunkers and all defenses were intact. Without the Brittish intelligence trick you would be fighting against an 2-3 times larger force and much more well entrenched, but no credit to them. Typical american taking credit for the work of others. That you are claiming that i think Sweden is better then USA is hilarious. Don't put words in my mouth.

  • @GeneralMcCudden USSR economic system always was a piece of shit and has been for hundreds of years and still is today as Russia. In numbers the Talibans are stronger then before, in organisation and control they are weaker.

  • @GeneralMcCudden I don't expect Somalians with no training to actually hit anything. Britain was near collapse, But seriously, On D-Day, how many of the beaches were landed by american troops? Whos intelligence service fooled the germans that D-day would come on another part of France? Britain. Whos ships bombarded the bunkers at the beaches? Brittish. How big part of the allied force of on the western front after d-day was American? Who destroyed the pride of the german navy? Brittain

  • @GeneralMcCudden I have personally been in Greece several times and its a 2nd world country, close to 3rd. Iceland did have a economic boost, but very unstable economy too otherwise they wouldnt have crashed like a house of cards. Yeah well the more money countries lend you the bigger debt you have, from a economical standpoint a debt is always bad. The Carthagians did challenge Rome, but the generals carrying out the actual fighting had no support from the goverment. Which led to their fall.

  • @GeneralMcCudden America did fight some hard battles but stop watching US aligned documentaries and books, the battle of Stalingrad was the hardest and deadliest of the war lasting 4 years. The Iraqi's did outnumber you, but with 60's tank that didnt even have 60's target system installed. Jets from the 60s and so on, it wasnt a huge challenge for you. Yes you had mostly infantry in Somalia, and what did the Somalians have? The Taliban is stronger today then 2001, but not in control of the gov

  • @GeneralMcCudden America supplied the allies with vital supplies in both wars, and that was a great help. I was talking about actual fighting forces in Europe. D-Day was after Britain has held out for 5 years while you were safe on the other side of the globe. The USSR could potentially take over Europe yes, and thats a big reason why the allied wanted your help so badly so they could end the war before USSR took it all.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Iceland and Greece always had bad economy, France and Spain usually got quite good ones though. They aren't largest economies in europe, not even by far. You said, to fix the national debt we lend more money to pay off the loan, and you just said it again. US was proven as a "player on the world stage" after WW1, superpower after WW2. Rome had no other big Empire or Power to challenge it like you challenged USSR.

  • @GeneralMcCudden I didn't say the debt had something to do with it, but the banks gives your goverment loans to contuine finance your wars which in return leads to a destabilized economy. I never said you conquer, instead you set up goverments that do as you please in greater or lesser extent. Examples: Japan, South Korea, Former West Germany, Iraq & Afghanistan. I do not like the Soviets or the Russians as they call themselfs once again but you are not much better.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Operation Desert Storm: You won against an outdated army with equipment from the 60s. Somalian Presence 1994: You came in expecting a easy win but left soon after with more losses then you expected. Invasion of Afghanistan: You came in to defeat the taliban who barely got weapons to fight with and 9 years later they are stronger then when you arrived. Operation Iraqi Freedom: You defeated the main army and overthrew a brutal dictator, which was good for once.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Your military history in the last 110 years: WW1 you represented 10 % of the allied fighting force and arrived when the war practically was won. WW2 You defeated the Japanese single-handely which is impressive, but not much help against Germany in the larger picture. Korea War: You managed to establish a democratic country but withdraw with a stallmate that stands to this day. Vietnam War: You came in to defeat communism only to leave with nothing gained.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Also, my point with the empires was that you are a mighty country now, but USA emerged as a super power during/after WW1, less then 100 years ago. Although you have existed for 250+ years. Many americans also claim to be the main cause of the allied powers winning both world wars, which is ridicilous. You did help, but the true victors of WW1 was GB and France with your help, the true victors of WW2 was soviet union with allied help on the opposite front, including you.

  • @GeneralMcCudden The main cause of the 2008 economic crisis was your country, and your wars. Since your economic major you should know that. If you are taking Iceland as an example for entire europe that means you don't know anything about our economy. Europe is far from bankrupt, USA got it way worse. So your solution to a national debt is to lend more money? That must be the most stupid idea i ever heard.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Western Europe is fine no problem whatsoever from the crisis, only a slightly raised unemployment rate and some fundings that was needed for the banks. Ex. Soviet countries got it worse though. And our old empire has fell already, and left war behind us like civilized people. We go to warzones with our military to help people, like you should if you really are protecting democrasy. Not setting up US friendly puppet goverment allover the place.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Empires the last 2500 years: Alexander's Empire (The Great), Western & Eastern Roman Empire, Mongol Empire, Chinese Empires, Ottoman Empire, Mameluke Empire, The Holy Roman Empire (Germany), Brittish Empire, Swedish Empire, USSR, Austria-Hungarian Empire, The Third Reicht (Germany), Japanese Empire, The German Empire (Pre 1918), Russian Empire (Peter the Great), Portugese Empire, Spanish Empire, Egyptian Empire, Aztec Empire, Mayan Empire, Zulu Empire. They all fell, so will you

  • @GeneralMcCudden If you are an economic major then you should know that the US got a national debt that is practicly impossible to pay off. Those airplanes, tanks and assault rifles that you mention is indeed american invented, the only thing that we could benefit from is the attack helicopters, we already got modern MBT's and Planes and high quality AR's. Yes we buy some of your weaponry becouse its quality, iam not desputing that. On the same grounds as you buy our weaponry, its quality.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Also, no Sweden is not a super power, and hasnt been for exactly 299 years. But we do have one of the worlds most high tech armies and YOUR country is a big customer of OUR weaponry.

  • @GeneralMcCudden If you see it that way, China has control of your economy due to loans and debts, the economy has control over the military. No money, No wars. So no i would not consider you the world leader economic power, nor military.

  • @GeneralMcCudden Sweden has existed for almost a 1000 years, it has been inhabited by our forefathers milleniums beforethat. USA is EUROPEANS who EMIGRATED from EUROPE to populate AMERICA.

  • GRIPEN! Not Grippen...

  • swedes shit

  • Cool Video. I'm a little disappointed it's been hijacked for anti-American sentiment. I mean, str8erthanu's right. We don't have a Royal Family, bummer! And obviously he's a cultural expert having watched a bunch of TV so his insight is very keen. Don't pretend America is McDonalds, Coke, Youtube and the simpsons and we won't pretend Sweden is all about Ikea, Swedish meatballs, and a jet with an American engine in it.

  • This is a beautiful piece of swedish enginering!!

  • @JoltVicke Thanks from sweden

  • @ u all!! With my Cessna, the GPS in my iPhone and a 9mm out the windows I would probably kick everyones ass in the sky!! I´m certain there´s a free app for finding stealth aircrafts too...

What can I say, there´s something to love and something to hate with just about ANY country in the world....

    Group Hug Everyone!! // :)

  • Nations that have the Gripen now are all highly unlikely to ever fight an F22 or F35 anyways so such comparisons are probably a waste of time. It is more likely that they would come up against modern Russian and Chinese designs or 4th gen aircraft from any nation. Against those aircraft the Gripen should perform reasonably well. Once the PAK FA or similar stealth aircraft are produced in significant numbers the situation may change. Then you can buy systems to counter them like improved F35.
