I remember my dad recording this on VHS when it first aired, but I don't know whatever happened to that tape... I looked for a copy of it on Amazon, and all they have was it on VHS... I wish Disney would release this onto DVD... It would be SO cool! ^_^

Does anybody remember Mickey's Happy Valentine? It was on The Magical World of Disney back in 1989. The only way to find it now is if anybody taped it off TV and saved it.

The name of the song at 7:37 is "Dress You Up" by Madonna, and I'm pretty sure the song at 1:16 is just the opening intro song for the show.

This happens to be the only DTV special that we didn't record. thats because this was BEFORE we had a VCR, we bought our first on in 1987 when I was 2 years old. I feel so lucky to have lived in during the 80s which to me was the Golden Age for Disney. I mean the 3 main networks had Disney specials more often during this period than they do now. DTV was the best of them.

This aired on NBC in September of '86. There was a slightly different version called DTV Valentine, which aired in February of '86.

I totally agree, I mean back then we actually had Mickey Mouse cartoons, and they were the best! I mean Walt Disney himself was actually there when the cartoons were made, now we see the mouse ears, but we don't see the Mouse cartoons, just crappy tween shows, not a cartoon in sight. Walt Disney should be rolling over in his grave because his greatest creations are not being shown anymore, they are just gathering dust in a vault being forgotten while today's generation are worshipping tweens.

Im only 14 but when I was really little my mother showed me all of the Walt Disney Cartoons and when we moved and actually got cable all there was was hannah montana and Jonas brothers, and I really do like the new disney movies, but I really wish that they would go back to their old style and not computer animated

I really feel sorry for the young kids of today, when they hear Disney, they would think that Disney is Hannah Montana, or Jonas Brothers, IT'S NOT!!! I go in the Disney store and that is all I see, either Miley or the JoBros, well, more of them than the actual disney stars meaning Mickey and the great classic Disney films. They wouldn't even know who THE Walt Disney is! They might as well take down the Walt Disney and Mickey statue in Disneyland, they won't know who they are! It's sickening.

Or, they'd probably erect a Hannah Montana statue in its place. Disney's forgotten the stars that made it a legend in the first place. And according to a friend of mine who actually WORKS at Disney as an intern, this is what the KIDS wanted. Are you kidding me? I'll bet if a kid ever saw the old Disney cartoons, they would forget about Hannah Montana in a second. And I hope it happens, too.

Definitely, I mean I remember Rocko's Modern Life, Rugrats, Doug, etc., and the original kids WB, where there was Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures, Earth Worm Jim, Batman, Superman, and many others, what they have now is total crap, like this show Chowder, what the hell is that? Stupidity! I mean back then, the shows were educational, like Animaniacs, you would see the Warners visit historical events and people, like Picasso, Michaelangelo, etc. Shows today are just making kids dumber and dumber
