Do i need to press n hold that pen button evertime i draw something OR just when i need to bring/hide the menu COZ i hear u pressing button hard everytime
remember that it has multitouch. you can scroll anywhere on the screen with your finger. you dont need to use the tiny scrollbar. most non tablet users dont know this. you guys make windows 7 look worse than it is for touch.
@mjktechgeek It doesn't matter how you use it, just however you want to. I choose to use the scroll bar which is fine. I just put chrome touch on it so it works closer to the ipad with web browsing. No need to be negative ;)
Thanks a lot. Wonderful review. Could you please demo two things: (1) Inking in MS Office programs (Journal, Excel, Ppoint, etc)- how is the experience? (2) Using the on-screen keyboard for extended typing- e-mail, blogging, etc. I want to know if I can use this as my primary computer.
@motmaitre I mostly review these as art computers not much else. They on screen keyboard works ok, not as easy as the ipad. If I were you i would just get a bluetooth keyboard. All the office programs work just fine.
@LatinVixen Thanks. However, I was asking about the INKING experience in Office. This is because you said the experience is different between PS and Art Rage, and I actually draw my webcomic in Powerpoint:
@motmaitre I have only used one note for a little bit and it works fine. If the program does not need to rely on the wintab driver then it should not be an issue. PS has to rely on the wintab driver, meaning the program is not flaw less like the others.
@FriFreek The lag is not noticeable on art rage or sketchbook pro, not something that you can really tell when you are drawing. I want to take better video of me not holding the camera with one hand and do a full sketch to show how easy it is :D.
I like that it has pressure, but it looks kinda laggy. I like that you get a pen point though, but I've gotten used to the Boxwave stylus for the ipad that it's second nature and the larger tip has zero impact on my drawing. I think the iPad dimensions are perfect. I don't think I'd like using something so small and narrow like the HP slate. The listed price I've seen are almost double the cheapest ipad. Then again the slate seems like a real pc, where the ipad is just for apps. Cool video
@Thorbie no real lag that you can notice when drawing. The ipad well you can really notice the lag, I sure can. I no longer use the ipad because of how annoying it was to have to wear a glove not to touch the screen. Having full fledged apps such as art rage/sketchbook and photoshop are a huge plus. Both are good in their own way, I just use the ipad for other things now :).
@LatinVixen I got my ipad about 6-7 months ago after finding your channel, because I really only wanted to use it for art. I never knew there would be such an explosion of tablets after that. lol. I do wish I had something more like a real computer at times, but I have a laptop already. Maybe when my laptop becomes obsolete and prices go down I'll see what other options are out there. Thanks for exposing us to all the great tablets out there.
@Thorbie oh check our my video on the motion computing ls800. Another tiny tablet, cheap to buy second hand on ebay and full windows OS as well :). Can find many of those for under $200.
I am always looking for tiny tablets to draw on :).
@LatinVixen Which device do you think is the best to sketch with? The IPad, the motion tablet, this slate, eee note, etc. I currently have the IPad and have sketchbook Pro. I want to get brushes but is
@SuperLollerz I sold my motion tablet. My main art computer is my toshiba m700. This one is my on the go art pc. The ipad became my netbook replacement. I don't draw on my ipad anymore.
Do you know any art apps that will work for a HP touchpad?

Thanks for this. Shame it's not wacom, looks relatively skippy. It requires a battery?

do you recommend this tablet with touch or the acer iconia w500? and which one is better with windows 8 ? and which one is more powerfull and faster?
deniz11muis1 5 months ago
The LS800 you demo'ed looked more responsive
BigFatLoserDude 1 year ago
@BigFatLoserDude it's better being it is wacom. For art anything with wacom wins hands down.

Do your feel any laggy moments? How fast does Windows 7 starts up on it?

what is its battery backup time with minimum brightness? It would be useless if it is not a bit like Nokia Boklet 3G of 12 hours!!!

Chrome touch?!?!?! Awesomeness I'd love to see a review with that although I know that you typically just review for art.

jdparden 1 year ago
@jdparden I have both 2.5 and 3 both work just fine. As for sketchbook I have 2010 I don't see why 2011 would not work :).

You can change the caption button size, scrollbar and dpi,
This will make it much easier to use with your fingers,
Windows should auto change this if installing on a tablet...
