Prerequisites for becoming the President of the US:
* at least 35 years old
* must have lived in the United States for at least 14 years
* native-born US citizen or born abroad to parents who are both US citizens.
This means that Arnold Scharzenegger AKA the Governator cannot run for President, while Barack Obama can, because he was born in Hawaii, which is still part of the US last time I checked.

I can think of nothing quite as internationalist as excersiing the US's economic power into acheiving something approximating free-trade.
Now thats alot more challenging than invading third world nations.

However, we have unfortunately given every country in the world the idea that we step in and 'take care of' other countries when they are in need (and no, I do NOT mean what we are doing in the Middle East...That is horrifically different). So...we're supposed to just stop ALL aid?

But we do. We always know. I'd never go so far as to say that its only the political and business class that benefits but the vast amount of it does. And anything the working classes gain are usually repaid within a generation through increased taxes/reduced employment and education opportunities.

Why is it that people assign any altruistic act to government? It amazes me. Its not as if they even do it as an indrect way to help their wn ordinary citizens. They always do it as a subsidy to help the business/political classes.
If people could just accept that government is an evil, neccessary in very limitied circumstances, but an evil nonethe less the human race would have some chance of making social progress.
