Were all worm food..but this is what the trip is all about...goodness is what is love...dont take it from me and dont let your death bed tell you so...get out there and...love...deeply!
Actually it wasn't. It was written for herself. But as her Dad thought it was written for him, and she secretly agreed like "Yeah.....it..is" she said it on a life performance somewhere on her.
This is a beautiful song... I heard it on the radio a lot when I was a little girl. Years later, I heard it sung by Dixie Chicks, and they didn't quite get it. You can just feel how the song is supposed to when you watch this.
I'm not into country music, but they did a nice job on her song. Not everything is as good as the original, but they did it the justice it deserved. I normally don't like remakes of songs, but both versions are really beautiful to me. I think it's the song in itself that is so beautiful.
Yes, but it's the dilution that endangers the original work of art. When people say 'it's all good', in truth, I can't say it is. Stevie is a better artist and better musician, imo, and they should have left her song alone unless they could really do it the justice worth dilution.

Beautiful song - I prefer the Dixie Chicks' interpretation, but make no mistake, this is monumental. To be sure there is no competition between the Chicks and Stevie as to "who did did the best version" - that is BS. They both performed together in Las Vegas couple of years ago for country music diva, beautiful duet / close harmony between Stevie and the Chicks.
Do any of you people know that she wrote this song about he ex, who happens to be the dude on the guitar. Its haunting, she is looking right at him during the song.
It's so hard to really tell what genre this song is. my one friend says it's country, but this is so much better than country, and Stevie Nicks is not a country singer. So I'm going go with "folk rock". You know, tells a story, like a more subtle rock.
I know that things have moved on between Stevie & Lindsey, but...somewhere, deep down, that look he gives her at that pause in the song...almost brings back hope to one of music's most adored, however lost, love stories. Sigh... :)
Sure, maybe the radio sucks now. But who says that the young kids can't enjoy the great music of the past?
Just to have you know, I'm 16 and have explored nearly all the songs of several 70's bands.
Fleetwood Mac is my favorite band ever, and CCR, Led Zepellin, Pink Floyd, the Grateful Dead are all amazing as well. And then I get into some newer stuff with Black Crowes and Sublime. But hey, it's just a personal choice, no big deal. (:
I listen to this while driving along with my bud to and from work. Which is funny cus we look like two tattooed death metalists, hehehe.Beautiful song.
Don't pity the new generation. Many of us still listen to all sorts of music and more of us appreciate the roads that lead to where music is now:). What you should feel sorry for is what we will eventually do to this earth and each other. Understanding and respect seems to be lost.
Try to find a song today that plays this way in lyrics and music itself. Good luck. I like this version best. Glad I grew up in the 80's. I feel bad for teenagers today.
They're still going well for being the fact she's about to turn 60.. Well done stevie, my mother dislikes fleetwood mac, but you managed me woo me :P (My mother was into the acid rock, my father the beachboys.)
I think Stevie was the one true love that got away from Lindsay in the mid 70's and this loss bothered and haunted him for decades. Today, Lindsay is married with young kids and I believe now at peace with his past. Stevie never settled down with a true love, nor had children. She was the perfect woman unable to find the perfect mate. Now looking back, does she know that she found him at one time along the way? What could have been and what can never be again - it's all wrapped up in this song.
What? stops hurting- this song isnt just about hurting its about remmembering the beauty in life and the priceless times we have with those we love. This isnt just a sad song but a timeless masterpiece, Full of splendor.
Her father died a few years ago shortly before Katrina from the way it sounds. Type in "Stevie Nicks - Landslide (The Today Show)" and she talks about it.
