As bus drivers, we're not worried about the couriers, they know their game. Those we're more worried about is the female office workers on bikes and the odd hood rat who decide to bring his bike to central London once a year. They are the danger
I was driving a 388 double Decker bus and this accident happened about 3 or 4 minutes before i got to Carmomine street/ wormwood junction. saw flashing blue lights ahead of me. FIVE 'O and ambulances was just arriving as well. Looked on my right, there was Herry just behind the back wheel face down. ambulance chap run and turned him over and started performing CPR, copper shook his head and the look on their faces from a distance said it all. Had to drive off as i was holding traffic. RIP SIR
WHY DID THE Logistics guy say several hundred London cycle couriers are killed each year ?. What a lieing dick head. That means the equivalent of all his staff are killed every 6 months. Stupid moron
R.I.P. Henry - I'd disagree with the guy's comment regarding defensive cycling, I've always felt an aggressive attitude has kept me safe over the years.
@manmaas I agree, I ride a bicycle like I used to ride a moped. Ive seen my life flash before me a couple of times but not as many times as Ive seen others nearly get flattened while they're hugging the kerb and playing nice.
It's nice to know that Rico speak as much bullshit on the telly as they do on the phone....."300 cyclists die"......"your courier will be there in five minutes"
@dwjp "In 2008, 15 cyclists were killed, 430 were seriously injured and a further 2,757 cyclists sustained slight injuries while cycling on London's roads. In 2009 there were 13 fatalities, there were also 398 serious injuries and 2,998 slight injuries in the period from January to November 2009."
I did not died. I was a London Courier...it was great! Crazy people I have met there!

I blame Boris Johnson for doing absolutely nothing to keep cyclist safe in the London.
I cycle 2 times a day 5 days a week and it is hell out there. Really dangerous. You take your life in your hands.

13 cyclists died in London in 2009. that 400 a year stat is nonsense
dwjp 11 months ago 18
@dwjp Spidey sense was definitely tingling when I heard that.
altodykes1987 10 months ago
@dwjp Probably meant 400 accidents,not deaths.

I have had 1 puncture in 5 years of London cycling. How do people get so many?
williamn6133 4 months ago
@dwjp yeah - I was shocked when he said 400. I guess 13 doesn't sound as good for TV.
invade81 4 weeks ago
@dwjp
He was probably quoting total cyclist deaths. But the fact that the very experienced Henry got wiped out tells you how common it is.
