That cobbled improvised double boxes ... It misses the official racing on the Nordschleife, the current GP-Strecke not deserve to be called the Nurburgring!
They certainly were eyeing up the amount of constructors that had entered the WSPC in 1989. But F1 is finding out now that manufacturers dont necessarily mean stability and a healthy championship.
Obviously the FIA's insistence on the 3.5l format was its downfall. But they shouldnt have replaced the 1000km format.
The tragedy of 1985 and the subsequent lack of F1 drivers also meant it was more difficult to regard it as top class motorsport.
DAMN..these cars are awsome!! I think they should've added some of these cars in the Gran Turismo Series. R.I.P. to Stephan Belloff, who lost his life in a race at "SPA" in a Group C race.

Short answer yes it was getting more popular than F1. We are getting back there - the Le Mans series is pretty close!

they did, just not the Porsches. They need to add more group C's for GT5 along with more group B's
