I think that line "thx thx thx thx Monica", is a salute to his former lyricist partner - 黎彼得, who wrote the lyrics for Leslie's "Monica". Sam Hui and 黎彼得 worked together from mid 70's to early 80's.

Today's music (and I'm not talking about the lyrics) is LAME, boring and they all sound the same. What happened to all the great composers of pop music? For example, listen to HK music from the early-mid 90s (and of course, in previous decades). Compare it to nowadays. All we have now are lots of eyecandy who 'sing' crap songs.
