it would be good to know what video card you have in your computer...actually, it's necessary to know what video card you have and how much RAM you have in your computer. But processor wise, your computer is fine for high settings, unless you dont have a good video card.

You could google for a simple program that tells you your computer specs. Or there might be some websites thatll do it. Otherwise you could google "crysis benchmark test" and see what that tells you. That benchmark test will tell you if your computer can run it and how well.

Bripull might befor real, albeit filthy rich. There are some protoype 4870x2's. Maximum PC has 2 in their dream machine '08. Anyways- they're a little over 130% faster than a gtx 280 and scale way better in crossfire compared to sli. so TWO crosffire x-ed 4870x2 prototypes on a skulltrail with 8gb of ram and dual QX9770's could definitely get at least 80 fps average. However, the overall cost as well as the prototype cards falling into consumer hands is very unlikely.

That's not true. Even if you have a low-end PC, as long as it's on Vista, you'll see the Very high settings available. It's a DirectX10 thing.

The activation of Ultra High has nothing to do with DirectX 10 or Vista. You can activate the Ultra High mode in the System.ini or Game.ini i´m not sure maybe it has a other name but it was a ini. BUT YOU NEED VISTA AND DIRECT X 10 AND FOR SURE A HIGH END GRAPHICS CARD TO PLAY IT. Sure you can play it whit a low end graphic card but it would like a Dia Show. 1 fps :)))

Sorry, but it isn't dual core. You may be getting confused with HT which means hyperthread. All this means is it acts more like a dual core than your average single core (multitasks better). I can assure you that a Pentium 4 is single core.

All HT means is that it can support application Multithreading. Those cores you see are Virtual cores, and it is strictly classed as a single core processor. I doubt HIGHLY that you know more about computers than me, so in future could you cut back on the racial abuse?

Well Hyperthreading gives a 30% gain compared to a Dual cores 40% gain. So in theory a 3Ghz P4 should beat a 2Ghz Dual core. But in reality GHz means nothing, its the technology built into the processor that matters, and since all "DualCore+" processor lines have never technology SSSE3 etc.. they easily take care of older gen cpus. And HTT is not a virtualization technology btw. =]

Unpatched, Crysis does not support Multithreading, so it wouldn't suprise me. In case you haven't noticed, many people are running maxed out on P4's and AMD Athlon 64's.

Are you simply going to disregard the evidence and say the newest and most expensive must be best? Note that i am not saying these processors can compete with the newest processors, however i do believe that these single cores run absolutely fine in most games and almost all of it is down to the Video card.
