Battery Electric Ford Focus and "The Jay Leno Show"

I find it curious that so many people are against electric cars. Where do they think the electricity that is used to refine petroleum into gasoline comes from? It takes 7.5kwh of electricity to refine one gallon of gasoline. That same 7.5kwh will power an electric car 30 miles. And I haven't even included the energy used to find, drill, extract and transport the petroleum to the refinery and then transport the gasoline to the end distributor.

@hoffbug Word on the street is, you can use a smart-phone to access your car, and while plugged in the AC outlet, you can pre-heat your car. Vewry similar to the Volt, and Leaf.

I love the way the car makers have been going on about how electrics need so much research and developement time and money. Coming soon, arriving next decade. The excuses go on and on about why they will be able to build a car that needs no regular replacement parts and never wears out... soon but not just yet. Then when they decide to build one for a TV show they can slap it together in a couple of weeks.

Yes Yes littlecurses! Right on. Ford NEEDS to bring over the RS. FMC are morons here in the US, they aren't listening to the potential customers. I have a 2000 ZX3 with 123800 miles on it, ordered it in Jan 2000 got it in May 2000.  The WRC is what made me want one so bad back then. But she is still going strong even after a few track, autocross, and rally events here in New England.
