  • clang swoosh... swoooosh

    uuuuuUUUUUUAAAAAAAAHHHHHH

  • i miss the golden era of Rareware =(

  • In any game million seller or block buster movie there is a logo wich is delivered with a punch in the screen. Star wars logo appearance is the master of that but also many others. Thumbing up now

  • Perfect Dark pushed the N64 system to its limits. A very bold move that proved rewarding in the end.

  • I was playing this on Xbox 360.

Its just not the same without that N64 "N" morphing into the Perfect Dark logo.

  • @AltimaNEO

I was thinking the exact same thing when i played it on 360!

Rare just isnt Rare without Nintendo

  • DARK is my gamer name

  • zero was a pile of shite.

the main thing was dark being turned into some bratty american teen, when in the original she's an English agent.

i was seriously expecting some crap homework joke in Zero.

  • RARE return to nintendo!

  • why? Ms isn't killing them, they were already losing key people with nintendo and nintendo even voluntarily sold them!

Pdz isn't ms's fault, they weren't even there at most of the development time, nintendo had to shift on gamecube, then wii, then xbox original, then xbox 360, which totally raped pdz's plans

now that their with ms, they recovered, and a really great polished port is being made for xbla. Rare will recover!

  • @RareJj7 I know you commented on here a year ago, but I wanted to point out that nintendo didn't sell Rare. Rare's contract with Nintendo was up and they took the HUGE offer from MS instead of the offer from Nintendo to continue exclusivity with them. Nintendo didn't own Rare. With Nintendo they still had the Stamper brothers there running the company and they still had most their good employees there. Face it, Microsoft's money is what killed Rare as we knew them. Kinect and kid games is Rare.

  • Bad Fur Day intro is better.

  • Best Game Introduction EVER!

  • lol. i would go insane and it would say "eject disc to save game"

  • Coolest logo intro ever.

  • "copyright rare ltd. 2000"

  • "N64 EXPANSION PAK™ DETECTE"

  • @Antractica yo, you have a one year old comment but i have to admit. i never noticed a single imperfection... thanks to enlight me

  • i think they should put the original conkers bad fur day on xbox live arcade

  • They'd probally remove this intro from the XBLA port but i'd still buy it again because it's awesome.

  • I used to get scared with that intro, but then i made me feel sort of nervous but with adrenaline, ready to shoot n' kill in deathmatches :D:D damn love that game :D

  • lol, Perfect Dark was an attempt to re-create Golden-Eyes success, you can tell lot of similar or the same audio, and the opening basically the same.

  • An attempt? Hardly so. It succeeded in besting Goldeneye in every category except the actual sales of the game itself and that can probably be contributed to the Gamecube coming out shortly thereafter.

  • or the fact that it was a goldeneye rip off

  • You got a problem with Perfect Dark? <_<

  • yes

  • And why pray tell, would you have an issue with one of the greatest FPSs of all time? It's not a rip off of Goldeneye, it's made by Rare, the same people that did Goldeneye in the first place.

  • it was a poor attempt to make people buy it like $100 Corvettes after rares huge success with goldeneye. Yet, PD made less gross sales than goldeneye by a considerable margin.

  • A poor attempt? Not at all. PD improved and added many features that are unrivaled in MANY of today's modern FPS games. PD made less in sales because the Gamecube came out shortly thereafter and most moved onto that. However, the fact it sold some 2 million copies doesn't mean it should be overlooked.

In short, Goldeneye007, while a good game, is Perfect Dark's bitch.

  • really? How exactly is goldeneye PD's bitch? you cant just say things without saying what those things are exactly.PD was an ok game but not as good as GE, GE revolutionized FPS games, no goldeneye=no PE. The weapons on GE actually made some sense, and alot of PD weapons looked like they were randomly thrown together from colorful shapes and curves. now, i didnt mean a poor attempt, PD was a decent game, just slightly less in quality than GE. Ge is one the few decent games made from a movie.

  • I agree yes, GE is definitely one of the few videogames that was a success from the movie. If modern warfare was your thing than I can see why you would prefer Goldeneye. Remember that PD had sci-fi elements in it, but weapons also had their own unique feel and uses.

Goldeneye may have revolutionized FPS games on the console when it came out but PD took that much further. The Combat Simulator alone is very in-depth and is highly customizable, including combat challenges and unique A.I. bots.

  • funny thing is, im a halo guy xD

  • I'm cool with Halo too. I still have an N64 and play GE and PD from time to time. I'm just super excited for PD64 to be coming out on Xbox Arcade this winter. :D

  • @JimmytheTexan1441

one of the main reasons why "PD made less gross sales than goldeneye by a considerable margin" was because PD's 2000 release was essentially the end of the nintendo 64 era (goldeneye 1997). Gamecube was soon due to release in 2001, playstation 2000 and xbox 2001. PD is essentially the same game as golden eye, but with many, many more features.

  • @JimmytheTexan1441

PD a rip off of GE? Sort of, but not quite. It was built on the same engine, just like many other fps. Is true for you?--> what i have come to find about PD naysayers is, theyre more often than not the ones who spent little time playing the game, thus resulting in a poor perspective on the quality of the game. Theres no sense in saying you enjoyed GE and disliked PD. Any experienced GE and PD player would know, PD was superior.

  • @JimmytheTexan1441

now yer just fueling the fire....

  • weapons didnt make any more sense than in PD and too say that GE was a better quality game than PD is ludicrus. Ur right about GE revolutionizing FPS, but PD overall was better. Both did have great stroylines, but PD had better repeatable play because of the superior mulitplayer, co-op missions, counter co-op, combat simulator challenges, firing range etc...

  • yeah, just replayed PD a day ago, your right, but turok is still better than both :D

  • repeatable play? I think the better word is replayability.

  • true dat

  • Turok, better than GE/PD ? Whatever the fuck you're on, you'd better reduce the dosage.

  • made by the same company rare

  • @FoodisExpensive

and they did with quality, but they hit the end of nintendos 64 run.

  • that part always creeeps me out i have to press start like a bunch of times so i dont hear it or see it

  • what the hell, you get scared....that was a badass intro.

  • like when i was younger it makes a creeper noise man

  • kinda freaky too it was intense.

  • yeah man

  • rofl... the nintendo logo is changing to an... N

  • no into a p and d u dunse

  • yeah it's "pd" shaped like the N

  • real shame perfect dark zero turned out to be shit. the original PD is definately top 10 all time and a diligent effort should be made to bring back such a classic game to the current generation

  • @boobalo81

they are! soon to be released with better rendered graphics and online multiplayer for xbobx live arcade. sometime this winter! f*ck

  • please accept my video response :D

  • This intro belongs to the best video-game in the whole world and there won't be a better game than this one in the HISTORY.

I love you Rareware and I will always have Perfect Dark 64 in my heart.

    PERFECT DARK IS FOREVER!

  • Perhaps the best game i've ever played

  • stoned ;)

  • you could put a bit more of the game intro? is that i love the intro music so damn catchy

  • best there was best there is and best there ever will be !

  • A great game then, and still better than its prequel.

  • 0:02

    What?

  • badass and futuristc for its time

  • I like to hunt for the hidden pices of cheese in each mission of PD.

  • cheese?

  • Yeah, there were secret pieces of cheese in all the missions of the game.

  • Is the transformed N intended to stand for something else, or is it just a different way to look at the N64 logo, I've always wondered this. Love this game, on my way to beating perfect agent difficulty!

  • I wondered that too, and just recently figured it out.

    The "N" turns into "Pd"

  • LOL at how Rare always likes to mess with the N64 Logo.

  • Yes, it smells fly farts and gets chainsawed.

  • This game was so much better than that overrated Goldeneye. Heck, after playing Perfect Dark, try playing Goldeneye again. You can't do it, cuz it sucks so bad in comparison.

  • What a game! Brings back memories! I'd love them to put PD64 on the DS or something.

  • Now that's classic

  • loved the game

  • muah xxxx

  • i love you rare ....and davdid dohack...

  • Oh yeah...

  • N : P - D perfect dark
