Just for clarification, Longsong should be compared to Kulning or Yodeling, not to (just for kicks) Western Opera. It isn't meant to serve the same purpose. There are many kinds of Mongolian music, and this is just one of them. It has a very specific context, which distinguishes it from Khoomei and other singing styles (which by the way sound almost entirely different). Melikey.
