  • Que grandisimo cantante.

  • How wonderful to see Hines. He was the pro. And tall. And handsome as R.Taylor at MGM. And curious. I wonder what about his kids and wife Lucia. He was a great guy with a great voice, one of the most remarkable. Thank you for this.

  • THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HEARD THIS IN ENGLISH . I THINKS ITS GREAT

  • Great Voice! Great Actor! I remember Gounod's Faut sung by Victoria de los Angeles, Jerome Hines and Giuseppe Cámpora in Mexico City. Unbelivable,

    terrific perfonmance.

  • awesome----voice of heavenly power

  • the few operatic basso profondo´s who sang everything majestically, after all he took away justly!!!! this area from the tenors, excellent

  • wow ho un amico che si chiama Fabrizio che la canta precisa così!

  • Well sung, prefer it in Italian of course but very fine and one of my favorite Tosti pieces, though seemingly one of his less performed ones.

  • Crazy English lyrics but a great voice.

I saw him live several times in the old days

  • Hines always reminds me of Charlton Heston ;-)

  • @saiserieht Actually Jerry always said that he wanted to be the "John Wayne" of opera.

  • Wonderful. Hines had such a majestic voice and presence:) --

  • fantastico!

  • Wonderful beautiful voice. He was a very fine artist

  • Wonderful. I wish he'd sung it in Italian.

  • not usually heard from a bass...but Jerome Hines could sing anything-one of the great American bass voices ever!

  • I have Siepi and Pinza both singing this song on CDs.
