In Old Norse Odin (Óðinn) goes by numerous names one of which is Valfaðir (You can read about it in the old poems in Snorra-Edda and Völuspá). Due to this I think Valfar might be drawn from Old Norse word, Valfaðir. Val meaning gods and faðir meaning father. I can prove this, Valhalla is Valhöll in Old Norse, meaning Palace of the Gods. It's a shame that people use the words Valhalla, Odin, Heimdall instead of Valhöll, Óðinn, Heimdallur as it should be in the original language.

The last half, with basically the same chords and keyboard melody touched me to the bottom of my heart and it really filled my eyes. It's amazing how musical harmony can do this to people and I think there's nothing else in the world to work this "efficiently". And this song is a masterpiece when it comes to that.
