  • @Cedricfollyman What a mean spirited post .. No 15 yo gets to sing in any opera.. but at 18 she was ranked as Fit for Entry to the Centrol Universale del Bel Canto (CUBEC) school in Modena Italy, run by Mirella Freni no less. Next year she will be studying with the La Sculoa Dell Opera Italiana under private arrangements as she is 7yrs too young for any comparable scholarship. Shes been taught by the best in Aust. for years & is now under the mentorship of a Maestro & Mexican Tenor Jesus Leon.

  • @stankovicv I think it's very sweet. I love the rendition.... This song doesn't call for more operatic techniques... GREAT JOB!!!

  • @Cedricfollyman that is a mean comment....

  • @Cedricfollyman

Well, you are entitled to your opinion... even if it is arrogant, mean spirited and wrong. You sound like a pompous twit, really! If that is the attitude of "opera lovers", what a sad world we live in. I am sure an American plantation owner from the 1850's would share your outlook... looking down their nose at a talented slave.

  • @gilarthur Of all the insults you could have used, you really chose to analogise him to a plantation owner?

  • @Cedricfollyman So, I don't like this rendition much, either, but I do have to point out a few things. One needn't have sung in a professional production in order to be considered a good singer. Also, most classical singers don't dabble in classical crossover because it's demeaning, not because it's disrespectful. As for me, I could care less about how good or bad she is, given that she stay in her realm of popera, because you really can't compare her with classical musicians.

  • @Cedricfollyman I agree. being able to sing high notes in a sugar coated sweet voice doesn't make you an opera singer.

  • WOW! I grew up listening to Yanni and this song was always a favorite, and wow, you do an remarkable job! So pure!

  • amazing voice, love it

  • I've always loved this song. Now I love it even more!!

  • Bellissima! Brava, a beautiful performance, which I compared with the other versions and yours is definitely one of the best. Congrats.

  • @Kinkazzo Bless you for taking the time to listen and offer your kind comment. x

  • @gracebawden , do you have a full lenght cd out ?

  • @justme999mark Yes, go to the store at Grace's website

  • Her voice is as light as a pleasing wind.

  • @tashiandres THANK YOU for such a beautiful comment. x

  • She's so beautiful! And her voice....fantastic!

  • that was so beautiful

  • God, she has the pitch to carry this song, Yanni's older versions weren't good enough because the singers didn't have the ability to hold onto the higher and subsequently longer notes. Bawden, on the other hand, does. Beautifully done!

  • "Exquisite."

  • wow ...

  • amazing grace :) I'm one of Tiana's friends, you have a brilliant voice, congratulations!

  • Wonderfull.

  • Well, since you hold up Emmy Rossum's rendition of Christine in the 2004 "Phantom" as a fine example of Opera, you've lost any credibility in my books. "Phantom" is not Opera either.

  • @Luke8574 For serious. Emmy Rossum is a fine singer, but she is a *pop* singer, and it comes through loud and clear in her performance of Christine. You want to hear some opera, try Sarah Brightman. Or any of a slew of other Christines who can actually sing for the genre.

  • Nice voice!

I hope that she will sing the song , Amazing Grace.

  • Its the last song on her album.

  • this is much more of a yanni's aria than flower duet

  • It is acknowledged as Yanni's Aria on the album, but it Yannis Aria is based on the Flower Duet. This version has Grace's own lyrics in it.

  • we should realise that this is a studio recording and the reason it has an inhuman feel at times is because parts been tuned up to regions that vocals can't possibly reach for such sustained amounts of time.

  • Nonsense. Grace performs this song live and I heard her at the Yalumba Carols and it was exactly as on the recording. The fact that she has such a vocal range is the astounding thing about her talent.

  • She has a stunning voice, especially when you consider that she is only 16. Like New Zealand's Hayley Westenra, she will only go from strength to strength. She will be one of the greats.

  • She has a pleasant voice though it it sometimes airy. A lovely song though

  • You really have a talent & you are very beautiful!

  • Totally Awesome Voice !

  • She seems to draw her sound from Sarah Brightman. I agree--I'm not sure I would classify her as an "opera singer".

  • la voie de l'ange

  • Magical.

  • I'm speachless :O

    WoW

  • What else can be said about this prodigy?

Beautiful young lady, adorable personality and the talent is undescribable

  • its like a mermaid`s song

    beautiful...

  • Very beautiful Grace. I have goosebumps too.

    Cheers.

    Angel

  • omg this makes mii get goose bumps and have tears in mii eyes i hate opra but i like this one

  • Very beautiful. Thank you

  • you sound a lot like Charlotte church used to when she was younger. that may or may not be a good thing i will watch you as you get older and take notice of your voice and see how it grows but you are doing a great job so far keep it up and dont rush anything remebr your only still very young and you need to let you voice develop naturally take your time with your voice hun god bless

  • Beautiful, Amazing Voice!!

  • Amazing !

How can such a young artist have a voice that is layered with centuries of flavour ?

Grace you belong on the world stage to remind all of us how beautiful and powerful and exquisite the voice can be .

    10/10 for me.
