  • My favorite part of artwork is how it can bring out human emotion. I've recently seen a video on the firebombing of japan which showed the tragic statistics, but I didn't have an emotional response nearly as strong as the one this gave me. Thanks for making such a great video.

  • ...also...David Bowie on backing vox <3

  • i had to go and buy this movie. Thanks for getting me into Tv on the Radio

  • just amazing... 5*

  • a really great work!!!

  • i really really enjoyed this! this was really nicely made, the best amv i'd have to say, great quality. i've never heard of this anime before, but i'd really like to watch it thanks to your amv

  • I cried like a fucking baby. Still crying, but I can't stop...

  • Great video man, I've never even seen this movie and it brought a tear to my eye.

  • WOW, I figured someone may have done something pretty cool with this very awesome song, but I didn't think it would be this.... I couldn't watch it because I remember the impression that movie left in me when I first saw it at age 11. Too sad...

  • absolutely amazing. great work

  • Good work with the song and the scenes. I loved it all around. You really got the feeling out of the movie and into this AMV.

  • try: wolf like me (mission ares)

  • new TV on the Radio fansite and forum - tvontheradio co uk

  • that was really sad. great work.

  • great job, I'm in tears now. happy? :')

  • The combination of this song, along with your excellent editing of GOTF, seriously brought me to tears. I love TV on the Radio, and is is done in such a dignified way. It does total justice to both Province AND Grave of the Fireflies. Fantastic job.

  • Brilliant - best song of 2006 - without a doubt

  • A masterpiece!

  • i don't think i could ever get bored with them and it's been almost 3 years listening to their music over and over again, no putting it aside even once

  • Amazing video. Thank you for taking the effort of putting this together Lildice1337!!!

  • David Bowie hosted in this song.

  • Eh, dislike what you want. I think it's a pretty good vid.

  • one of my fav anime movies as well, and the video does match the song, but i don't recommend this video to people who haven't seen GOTF yet!

  • Great job... This is one of my favorite animation movies - which is so fitting for the times we live in. Could have easily gone good with the lyrics from TVOTR's "Dreams" but this song is more dreamlike...

  • Briliant work lildice!

    Tnx for sharing it.

  • only video I've ever posted a comment on because it's just so well done. Make more!

  • Thanks, I've got a couple other AMV's. But it's not easy to have such good inspiration.

  • truly touched my heart. great vid!

  • This is the finest amv I've ever seen. The image and music work so well together and you don't get caught up in your own self-promoting special effects or tricks. It's all about the essence of the two source materials working together to create something new. It is so inspiring and very arresting to watch. I frickin love this video!!!

  • Thanks alot, i've made a couple more AMV's, but none can compare to this one. It was just a happy coincidence that everything worked out.

  • One of the best AMVs i ve ever seen on youtube.

  • Thanks! It's my favorite i've ever done.

  • I agree the song goes perfect with it.

  • this song and this video made last year amazing for me. finding TVOTR was the baset thing that happened to me last spring :)it was like falling in love

  • touching...truly touching, outstanding job

    5\5 all the way

    it was a tear dropper

  • Nicely done

  • ...wow...

    tears for me...

  • Nicely done. The into is great, and you didn't try to inject the dialog over the music, which always seems to be too loud and out of sync in these types of mash-ups.

  • great combination of picture with music i give it a 5 its beautifull :)

  • 1 of my favourite tracks of all time - good film too

  • i love that movie!

  • I dont know anything about 'grave of Fireflies'

But that was a really good video

  • that was good

  • this is sweet...

  • great job indeed. fan videos often sucks but this one is really nice

  • This was an incredible experience. Congratulations and Thank you!!

  • thanks! it was good fun to make.

  • Love it, great job!

  • oh damn this anime was so sad:(

  • but the music is cool! good job!

the song matches to the video..

  • Perfect choice for movie and song... overlapping themes and everything! That movie always makes me cry. The video is well edited too.

  • thats so funny.. I was just thinkging.. wow it sounds like david bowie and then i scrool down and see "david bowie is singing on this." if he's not.. that person should be a david bowie impersonator.

  • Yeah he's on this particular recording of this song. But he wasn't at alot of the performances of the song.

  • David Bowie is singing on this song isn't he?

  • maybe, probably. He worked with "TV on the radio".

  • yeah ackup vocals

  • bring a tear to my eye good song i love "tv on the radio" and also a good movie that i recommend to anyone.

  • fucking great anime and great song

  • awesome job... 5 stars, when you get a chance check out some of my videos.

  • tht was amazing, very good

    great choice of anime too

however i swore too myself i'd never make myself cry again liek tht after watch GOTF

  • EXCELLENT.

  • A brilliant band and one of the best animes ever nice work.

  • I know the song naturally has the clicking in it..but why?

  • what clicking?

  • at around 2:07

  • hahah whenever I see this vid now and it says "SPOILERS" I'll feel good because I may have been the reason you added it.

    I contributed woo!

  • Touching and amazing.

I've never seen the movie but heard much of it. Guess I don't really need to see it anymore though heh

  • Heh yeah, I should put a spoiler warning there -- but it's an old movie so I didn't figure I'd need one. Glad you enjoyed though.

  • Nice images, great job.

  • Good job. I'm a fan of both the movie and the band. Made me want to see Grave of the Fireflies again, and pop my TV on the Radio cd in my car for tomorrow's commute.

  • The song is great, but the anime factor ruined it.

  • lol, well Thanks -- I think. It's funny the Anime people don't like the song!

  • Great editing, story line and amazing video, you deserve an award for the subject matter which can be seen by almost all ages, good job!!!!

will pass along so others can watch. continue the story w/other t.o.t.r. music < if possible> I'll be looking out for it. quanpete

  • good editing.

  • definetly goes well with the song.

  • This video is incredible. I have never watch any unoffical videos, mostly because so many are terrible, but this is really special.

  • Thanks! I just got lucky that the song fits the movie so well.

  • Truly, truly wonderful . . .

  • Saddest movie ever made-

  • what a freaking horrible video!and by that I mean, that it touched me.

  • I love both this song and this film, and they complement eachother quite well. You did a great job syncing up scenes to match the lyrics as well.

  • I agree that this is song and video complimented eachother in such a cool way. Awsome job man! And I actualy like the video they made for Wolf Like Me, but if you could find something better like an anime or film with werewolves and shit.

  • This was a great combination of an astonishing song and an even more astonishing movie. I would have never thought the two would compliment one another in such an organic way. The song perfectly captured the emotion of the movie. After having watched the video, I felt as though I had seen the movie in its entirety, which I think is a real testament to the video. Thank you for posting the video; you've unearthed aspects of both pieces of art I never would have seen.

  • Thanks , that's the highest compliment. It was a fun video to make, and I had the idea in my head for a long time after hearing the song.

  • You're welcome. If you have any other similarly cool ideas, please post.

  • Maybe a Wolf Like Me Video next, I don't care for the official one :)

  • yes, YES!
