Actually I remember hearings or reading somewhere that those were actually grunts, and it comes across as "burping". Though the game is really good, the sound effects in the game were not really well done(and Akira Yamaoka was involved so I dont' know what could have went wrong with the sound in this game). Though the music was still phenominal as usual(This game and SH2 have the best music of the series)
