Awesome. I saw this when I was about 10. Shortly afterwards, I go on a Webelos camping trip, and the dude at 1:10 is there, the uncle of one of the guys in my pack. He told his bigfoot story and more at the campfire and scared the fucking shit out of us! Then we realized he was the dude we had seen on In Search Of. Awesomeness.
@sobuliak if you get news from the news, i got news for you.. you'll be in the dark with the other brainwashed idiots that count on the news for their news
I love how the people who hunt bigfoot and such are mysterious enough of a creature themselves that they warrant their own episode. Also, poor Spock! The 70's look like they took a dump all over his chest and head!
It's a great series. They should do a DVD set. Sadly, Nessy has been completely debunked. For one thing there's nowhere near enough food in that tiny lake to support anything bigger than a medium size pike or eel. As far as bigfoot, it's possible there was such a primate long ago, but if it had been running around N. America since European settlement it would have quickly been shot and skinned.
Tiny lake!!!! You can take the combined volume of every lake in England and Wales and it wouldnt fill Loch Ness. Its twice the depth of the North Sea. And there is a considerable fish population + its a natural salmon run! Do some proper research before making comments ehhh!
It's a tiny lake among tiny lakes. Only 1.8 cubic miles of water volume. That's only "big" in the UK. Our Iliamna has over 27 cubic miles of water. I've seen hours of underwater footage of Loch Ness from idiots looking for this monster. It's just mud and brackish water with a few fish. There's no way something as big as "nessie" could ever live in that loch without being seen on a daily basis.
Granted it is small compared to some global lakes but it is still not easy to search by any means. It is essentially a thin, very deep fault line filled with water! And where do you get muddy from... there is virtually no mud in Loch Ness until you hit the bottom - the sediment in the water is peat particles. I am not defending the legend of the 'monster' - I have my own theories on that. Can I ask have you actually been to/on the Loch... or just watching through a low-res web-cam?
Part of my reaction comes from being led to believe that the Loch was some great huge body of water. I had imagined it to be similar in size to Hood Canal in Washington. In reality it's a small fraction of that size.
first of all, thanks so much for posting! I loved this series as a kid, and was delighted to find it on youtube-- and can't wait for more of the later seasons to be posted... RE bigfoot/lochness-- 30 years later and still no advances--i dunno-- I doubt nessy exists, as wonderful as it would be if something was there, and tend to doubt bigfoot (at least south of canada)-- I think there is probably a yeti tho... who knows? what a great series! -- one of the cable channels should revive it!

The movie shown at the beginning is "Bigfoot - Man or Beast" which features Peter Byrne

You need to watch the news a little more often from the sounds of it.
