I am British and view (and always have) viewed Europe only as a Trading Partrner with benefits.

How can a system so huge and cumbersome such as the EU react to and maneuver to financial globale and European problems.

The British have sovereign power of their banks, spending policies,political system and interest rates. This is why we are and will be better off ovver the long term.

As a British expat in Spain, where the effects of the financial crisis are even more obvious than at home, it feels incredibly frustrating to see that the BBC are only finally catching up with reality now that 'the writing's on the wall' as it were - they weren't so critical of the EU/Euro when times were good were they?

If you go to x-rates and you look at the EUR/USD, the GBP/USD and the GBP/EUR in the graph format, you will see that the GBP and the EUR are falling steadily compared to the USD, while the relationship between the GBP and the EUR does not change much. No surprise there, are economy is basically European...

In other words, the dollar is losing value (QE) and both the GBP and EUR (similar to each other) are losing value even faster.

I actually have a lot of respect thus far for Dan Hannan. I've watched a few videos of him in the EU parliament, he's speaks the hard honest facts, I like that in a politician, it's rare. Of course, I might be being dragged through bullshit without realising.
